Happy birthday @Eaumyword ! I hope you are wearing a tiara to celebrate 👑

TangledWebofMincemeatDeception · 14/11/2022 15:40

A very Happy Birthday to you, @Eaumyword! 💐🍰🥂 👑 🎉

ShamedBySiri · 14/11/2022 16:13

Happy Birthday Eaumyword Hope you have a nice day. Whichever birthday it is I think it's likely to be one I won't be seeing again so make the most of the next ten years!

Feeling a bit stupid not to think the stylists wouldn't check what others are wearing! But HMQ was always unique so whilst colours might be appropriately coordinated or clashes avoided, it's not like anyone would be wearing the same. Ditto Princess Anne as she pulls another hit from the 80's out of her wardrobe. Camilla has her own style. So it's only really the young ones, Catherine, Sophie and Beatrix, maybe Eugenie or Zara who would remotely be at risk of finding themselves wearing the same thing.

And on the subject of repeating items, my thoughts regarding the lovely outfit worn to Prince Phillip's funeral being out of bounds for a while were wrong. I'm pretty sure this is what Catherine wore to the State reception the night before The Queen's funeral. Not easy to see with the light, and her hair obscuring one part of the bow at the neck but I think it is.

Birthday wishes @Eaumyword!

Eaumyword · 14/11/2022 16:17

Thanks all!
Yes, today's outfit is channeling my inner Smiths/Cure/indie kid phase and county DM definitely sniffed at the clumpy boots, but she got a shiny new mobility walker today so all is well in the world. She is however devastated at Joules crashing and wishes she'd supported them more. DF is relieved she did not 🙄😂
Char looks very model-y there. Hair, makeup and outfit looks very rock chick. I like it.

ShamedBySiri · 14/11/2022 16:41

Found another photo - definitely the same dress worn for Prince Phillip's funeral.
Even with a wardrobe full of black the many different occasions in the run up to The Queen's funeral must have involved a bit of digging around for something else to wear.

Happy birthday @Eaumyword .

I have a black coat, must be thirty years old now that comes out for funeral ditto OH black tie.

Black doesn't suit me unless embellished accesorised. Im partial to velvet at Xmas though

Happy birthday, Eau. You share a birthday with the King! There's a new photo of him taken last week in Windsor Great Park. It struck me how alike PP he looks now - I'd never really noticed before.

He looks a bit like PP now I guess but Charles was nowhere near as handsome as his father!

Eaumyword · 14/11/2022 08:31

Ooh, a montage! I love them 💕

It is my Birthday today - a rather big one ending in 0, but not big enough to get a bus pass. I'm still rocking it today in a leather skirt, oversized jumper and DM's! Oh and tiara, of course 😜

Eau! Missed this! 🎂 happy birthday!

gluenotsoup · 14/11/2022 19:47

Happy birthday @Eaumyword 🍸🎂

Eaumyword · 14/11/2022 20:26

Thank you, friends!
I agree @KillingMeDeftly PP was super handsome in his youth. Charles was never my cup of tea personally, not even when he emerged from the sea in righty tighty trunks...

TangledWebofMincemeatDeception · 14/11/2022 21:10

You're almost royalty, @Eaumyword, sharing a birthday with the King!

I'll take that!😂
Let's start with tiaras for all, corgi shaped biscuits and courtesy titles. I was born to be her ladyship 🥳

AdaColeman · 15/11/2022 10:40

@Eaumyword I know someone who suddenly added Lady in front of her quite ordinary surname! She says it helps with restaurant/hotel bookings, customer services etc.

KillingMeDeftly · 15/11/2022 11:39

When you order something from John Lewis the list of titles you can choose is endless!

I did that once with an online order for something. Was a good lesson in understanding how many times my details must have been sold on when all sorts of other things started arriving addressed to Lady Romaining. 👸🏼

Sophie at the JCB plant in Uttoexeter, gamely giving it a go! Dressed for the autumn in a look I think works, muted checked coat, green skirt.

KillingMeDeftly · 15/11/2022 20:38

The coat is ok but that skirt is weirdly proportioned. And saying she's an autism-style icon is pushing it!

KillingMeDeftly · 15/11/2022 20:39

Oh FFS, AUTUMN-style icon!

mikado1 · 15/11/2022 21:07

Beautiful coloured skirt but so much fabric and imo, the bag is too big... but what do I know in my slippers and DG 😂

MotherofPearl · 15/11/2022 22:21

I quite like that green skirt of Sophie’s, but I'm not sure the coat works with it, length-wise. I love long winter skirts but always struggle to work out what kind of coat to wear with them (and tend to opt for a shorter fitted blazer).

Eaumyword · 15/11/2022 22:25

I love the coat, boots and top. I'm not so keen on the skirt. I like the green colour, but think it's too voluminous and would have looked a more cohesive look in burgundy.

Same. V difficult to know what jacket... many wear a leather biker and that can work, depending.

lollipoprainbow · 16/11/2022 06:50

Did anyone see the awful leather dress Sophie was wearing this week? She usually gets it spot on but this was so wrong !

KillingMeDeftly · 16/11/2022 09:13

I didn't think the dress itself, by Loewe, was bad but Sophie's was way too tight! If she'd sized up it might've looked better. As it was you could see the entire outline of her bra, which was not a great look.
