Deleted posts always have a message with them so perhaps it never posted to begin with? No need to leave the thread.

Think some of them have hooks that go over the top of the ears. Sure I've seen CPV with them before on some heftier pairs

Sorry I’m relatively new here who is CPV ? That’s interesting that some of the earrings are so heavy they need hooks as well, I’ve often wondered about this as otherwise it would pull so much it could stretch the earlobe.

MotherofPearl · 25/10/2022 21:27

CPV is Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden @667TheNeighbourOfTheBeast

RomainingCalm · 25/10/2022 21:29

Princess Anne is now out in Uganda for four days. She really doesn't stop.

I'm less sure about what appears to be 'royal double denim' with elbow patches.

@LaBrujaPiruja , maybe it just didn’t post? That happens to me all the time, usually when I’ve spent ages typing it. I think deleted posts usually have a message confirming it.
@AdaColeman , that’s really interesting about the brooch, I’ll go back for a closer look. @Maireas was on the ball with spotting it was unusual too 🙂

I’m sure it was there. And then there was someone saying we should not post perdí el comments and my post disappeared. I’m gobsmacked as I would have thought it would still show as deleted.

Maireas · 25/10/2022 21:58

@LaBrujaPiruja - no post of yours has been deleted. Were that the case, an explanatory message would appear.

Anne has such a great work ethic. She's been involved with Ugandan charities for some years. Nice to see Tim there too.
The jacket actually works and looks quite nice with the white shirt! No doubt she's packed, carried her bags and sorted out her own wardrobe, hair and makeup herself, as per!

Anne looks fantastic - I'm very envious of her figure!
Not keen on the denim jacket plus patches - that exact outfit would have looked really polished with a jersey jacket in that lighter blue.
But I doubt she cares and that's why it's fabulous - she's all about the charity/visit.

gluenotsoup · 25/10/2022 22:18

Anne really suits blue, but I’m also not a fan of the elbow patches. I think her work ethic is just amazing, and her very low key style sense has never distracted from it. I was looking at photos from when she was younger, she was really beautiful. When I was a little girl I wanted to look like her on her wedding day🙂

MotherofPearl · 25/10/2022 22:40

I'm always so impressed with Princess Anne's no nonsense approach. She really just knuckles down and does the work. But I'm not hugely keen on that denim jacket I'm afraid.

Going back to kaftans - as shown on those great photos of Princess Grace - I always associate kaftans with Princess Margaret, especially in the 70s and 80s I think. Here are a few examples. It's not really a style I could pull off, but I imagine they're exceptionally comfortable.

I love Princess Anne, she always looks smart but I don’t think she’s very into clothes. She’s amazing and is probably one of those women who can fit into clothes she’s had 25 years! She always scrubs up very well at big functions etc 😃
I think she’s very much like the late Queen as she’s got her own hairstyle she likes and sticks with it.

Serenster · 26/10/2022 10:25

Mathilde had another good look at last night’s formal engagement. It’s a lovely colour on her. At first I thought her jacket was sunray-pleated leather, but it’s actually made from loops of trim - amazing! (Armani)

Interesting jacket - I rather like it! This colour is more flattering on Mathilde. I'm not sure about the cut of the skirt, but it could be the picture.

Would have liked to see Mathilde with beautiful simple gold earrings with that jacket.

KillingMeDeftly · 26/10/2022 11:50

That's colour coordination on a new level, even for Mathilde. The outfit is the same colour as her hair!

Eaumyword · 26/10/2022 12:38

I quite like the jacket but not the rest of the outfit.

susiebluebell · 26/10/2022 13:38

I like that jacket too! The outfit is very matchy-matchy but it's much better than some recent others.

Sorry about my previous post re making personal comments. I was having a bit of a day 😬

667TheNeighbourOfTheBeast · 26/10/2022 13:50

I love this outfit it looks really beautiful with her hair I think. But I’m old fashioned and like matchy stuff 😊

LadyEloise1 · 26/10/2022 14:09

I like the colour.
Very classic but I think Mathilde's skirt is quite puckered - it's not sitting correctly and I doubt it was a cheap Primark/Penneys / River Island skirt Smile

MotherofPearl · 26/10/2022 14:24

I thought the same about her skirt @LadyEloise1. It's slightly bunched in places, whereas the beauty of that silk satin fabric should be in the way that it smoothly hangs or drapes.

gluenotsoup · 26/10/2022 14:50

I’m not keen on that. I think it looks too matchy which makes it look dated. The fabrics should look soft and hang well, but it somehow looks rigid. I don’t like the earrings either.

gluenotsoup · 26/10/2022 14:51

@susiebluebell - we all have them. Hope your having a happy day today 💐

Maireas · 26/10/2022 15:44

Don't worry, @susiebluebell ! We're all friends on here, new or old. I hope all is well 💐

I really love Mathilde's amazing Armani jacket, especially for the skill used in its making, pure haute couture, reputedly with a price tag of £11,704.
Mathilde is head to toe Armani there, including her shoes and bag.

Mathilde often wears outfits in a pale champagne colour, but here she's taken it a little further with this beautiful delicate moth gold.

I'm not sure that the dress works perfectly with the jacket though, the bows/drapes of the bodice and cuffs clutter up and obscure the sublime jacket, and as mentioned the skirt isn't hanging well. I would have preferred a dress without frills that fitted more closely in the bodice and hung better for the skirt.
I think a Fortuny pleated dress would have been the perfect answer.
