Evening Royal Style fans!
I hope we can have some fabulous winter fashion and tiara events!

I've been looking at Chanel today, suits, jackets and decided that even Diana looked bunchy in them. The only way I thought they did look good was in the open style rather than buttoned up. It's a bulky fabric

Didn't Kate wear a gorgeous red Chanel suit with mini skirt before? Loved that on her.

@mikado1 Not Red but she's worn Chanel a couple of times before. I don't like the suit with the flippy skirt that much but I love the other outfit.

Unless you're thinking of this dress, which is Gucci rather than Chanel? I love it and don't know why she hasn't worn it again. If I had it and the Chanel dress in my wardrobe I'd wear them every day!

Ha, X post! That's the one. Fab. Don't like the flippy or the dark colours of the Chanel ones.

I really like that Gucci dress. But I don't think that Kate wears skirts above the knee much anymore.

I feel Kate has become very staid in her dressing at quite an early age.
I get that she's our next queen and all that, but I do wish she'd be a bit more adventurous.

She must dye her hair, surely.
She's had a lot bit of work done on her face too.
I agree though, she is irrepressible!

Even the queen wore short skirts back in the day. It's a shame she's so conservative while still young and beautiful. The European royals are less conservative for which I give thanks 👍

The late queen was very glamorous as a young woman, even up until the 1960s really.

Oh my goodness I’ve never seen the Queen in boots other than wellies! My mum had a pair in the 70s that looked similar and I had the girls ones to match, that were a shoe and the boot part which had a sock/stocking foot on it was separate, does anyone remember these ?
I wondered if Kate had been advised not to wear shorter skirts etc as she’s the future Queen? I get the late Queen wore an above knee skirt but literally everyone wore them then and also the tabloid newspapers weren’t trying to catch a glimpse of her knickers ! I feel awful saying that but I do think that tabloids have got much worse over the decades. There are no depths they wouldn’t sink to

Fergie's hair is a beautiful colour but I can’t help thinking it would look better lighter more like a strawberry blonde at this stage, a lot of natural redheads fade to this colour anyway before going grey. I thought she looked very glamorous at the funeral. I’m conflicted about her too regarding Andrew, but nothing seems to keep her down for long that’s for sure !

I think it's also that fashion has swerved towards midi, 'midaxi' and maxi lengths recently.

She does look amazing in that Gucci tweed and could rewear it any time she wanted and have it be a success. Feeling like I want to branch out from bagging royal jewels to bagging royal outfits 😁

I'd forgotten all about go go boots! I had a red patent pair in the 70s. 😊

Just seen Fergie’s hair in the Instagram link @KnickerlessParsons posted about her book, that looks a lovely shade on her now, much lighter red than a photo released the other day of her in a dark riding jacket looked very dark red.

I was once excoriated on this thread for mentioning tit flaps, so I won't.

I really like the Chanel with the flippy skirt but don't like the Gucci as I think the proportions are off.
And I like the wedges.
I'll be told to leave this thread as my style credentials are questionable
