There's a thriving market on places like Ebay for genuine vintage Chanel IF you know what to look for. I've sold lots.
Unfortunately lots of fakes, but c.1990's jackets have wonderful difficult to fake integral parts to the jacket. Eg: a thin metal chain at the base of the jacket (weighs it down, helps it hang better.) There's a beautiful silk colour contrast lining. Later jackets are often lined with a silk camellia pattern lining.
The buttons are divine - always with a CC logo. Again, later jackets have funky takes on the traditional CC logo.
The boucle wool looks gorgeous (but not to be got wet or you smell like a goat!)😂
I would LOVE to see Kate wearing that divine pale pink Diana power suit (jacket and mini skirt.)

The two families do seem close and appear to genuinely get on. Wax and Max looked thrilled when they arrived and got off the plane open armed. I was also struck by the hugging, which seemed unusual for RFs. Unusual but nice!

Wax and Victoria have been friends for years. There’s a lovely video somewhere from about 20 years ago where they were both attending a gala dinner (someone’s jubilee, probably). On reading the place cards at the tables they discovered they were sitting next to each, and were both absolutely delighted.

it was mentioned above that Wax is Estelle's godfather. Also CPV is Catharina-Amalia's godmother.

Eugenie looked gorgeous on her wedding day partly because she looked so happy!

I didn't like Kate's outfit yesterday. I don't like that Chanel style, the trousers were off and her hair needs a trim. Elizabeth Holmes (a US royal fashion watcher on Instagram) said Chanel needs more than safe trousers and heels and I kind of agree.

I agree with Elizabeth Holmes! Chanel definitely needs more or, if it's to be dressed down then I think jeans would've been a better option that those trousers. They are now to her what the nude LK Bennett Sledges were in her early years as a royal!

Nothing wrong with sledges ( when you're 5ft 4 like me ) but I hate flappy trousers.

Poor Catherine (I’m trying out calling her that now). She really seems to like a fashion comfort blanket!

I like the jacket. But I agree it needed more.

Actually I think I would have liked it a lot more if she had dressed it down.

The Chanel jacket was a no from me. The colour wasn't quite right for her her colour, perhaps she bought it when it was recently darker? I think it was too buttoned up for the trousers which were floppy and dull compared to the jacket.

I was racking my brains on what WOULD look good with that blue Chanel jacket (it's an uncomfortable shade of blue for me, although I understand the cut and vintageness are iconic). Elizabeth Holmes on Instagram suggested a tweed mini skirt or skinny leather trousers, but admits neither of those are very Kate. Interestingly she did include a photo of a similar look that Kate wore while pregnant in 2017, which I think is just so much more fresh and engaging! The short dark hair! The military cut of the jacket with a skinny dark jean!

Now that I look again, the 2017 jacket isn't very military other than the double buttons. But pairing it with a dark turtleneck looks really lovely! I hope she does more turtlenecks in future.

I still love her vintage Chanel look, but I do like the 2017 look too.

That blue is a beast to match. Think I'd save it for spring summer and pair with white .

Meanwhile there's no keeping Fergie down! She's got another book on the way. That shade of green suits her and her hair is as glorious as it was in the 80s.

Sophie is still in Malawi, and here are her looks from the last few days. I'm not keen on the sleeves on her blouse but the two dresses are okay.

I do admire how engaged she is, and how hard she seems to be working.

She's irrepressible! I imagine it's a bodice-ripper!

I like some of the ideas here on different ways to wear a Chanel jacket. Jeans and trainers could've worked for Kate, given she was visiting a sporting charity.

I'm always so conflicted about Fergie - on the one hand she's been quite grabby and I detest how wonderful she thinks Andrew is, but on the other she seems a loving mum and grandmother and I've seen interviews with her where she comes across as genuinely warm and kind-hearted. And there's also something of the underdog about her and the way she just keeps bouncing back!

I quite like the look of Queen Adelaide's. It also got me thinking about just how much there is in the Royal vaults we've all forgotten about.
