Hello all my wonderfully fragrant friends,

It's time for a shiny new thread! 😊 Perfect timing for autumn too. 🍂🎃🍂

The pavements and roads where I live are still covered in snow and ice. I'm meant to be going to a Carol service at the nearest church tomorrow, but don't think I'll be able to - I have mobility problems and the streets are too dangerous. I really love snow, and its so Christmassy outside the window, but I haven't been able to go out all week.

I can see the end of the tunnel - I'm nearly finished Christmas shopping! Still a few important bits to get - it's my mum's birthday on Boxing day so I have to get a few things for that too. 🎄🎁📃

SOTN is Shalimar for watching a Cliff Richard Christmas concert on TV, and the Strictly final before that.

Got a sad visit to do this afternoon. Dhs aunt is very ill, as is his cousin

SOTD is Arabie, for the 4th & last Sunday in Advent. 1 week to Christmas!!! 🎅 Hasn't it gone by so quickly? Almost too quickly for me, this year. ⛄🎁🎄

SOTD is Chanel Coco EDT. Always smells Christmassy to me, and sublime on a scarf.

ooh programme on Radio 4 (think it's called Sliced Bread ) right now discussing dupe perfumes by Perfume Parlour and others .
And Sarah McCartney currently being interviewed and explaining perfume make up and more .

Perfume Parlour comes out well as far as creating dupes .But ,as McCartney gently points out creating a dupe ,while not illegal ,is stealing someone's creation .

I think I am in a minority (which is fine!) but I am not down with dupes. I wouldn’t buy a fake Chanel bag, and I wouldn’t wear a fake Chanel perfume. No shade on PP fans, and I am sure this is an unpopular opinion, but I’d rather buy a cheap “real” fragrance (eg Yardley) or save up.

One of my absolute faves is the Samsung laundry perfume from Sarah. I was browsing a site where influencers sell on stuff basically, and saw the bottle. 100ml for £7. Nearly cried with excitement

@Pigeon31 Thank you! London was indeed beautiful yesterday - I think it looks its best at Christmas. We went for tea and cake in the afternoon. So many people were wearing Christmas jumpers, and were very cheery about the long queues for everything - Christmas spirit! By the time we finished it was dark, and everywhere was lit and so magical and cosy and Christmassy. Even the side streets had amazing light displays. 🎄🎄🎄

Was quite lucky with the trains - there were huge delays, but we managed by getting a stopping service.

In other news, I've finally finished my Christmas shopping. I did twitch a couple of times. 🫢🫣 Am just waiting for the parcels to turn up. 🎁

SOTD is Aromatics Elixir, for a day spent wrapping. I have a migraine so am hoping a night's sleep cures it. 🎁🎄🎅

@Deathraystare Shalimar is gorgeous, isn't it? It feels to me like many different perfumes in one - so well layered. I've been wearing it more often this Christmas, as some of my usual Christmassy perfumes have given me headaches. It has an icing sugar and panettone vibe to me in winter - sort of Christmassy!

SOTD is JHL - Cinnabar and Youth Dew mixed, which I'm thankful for, as Cinnabar (my usual Christmas go-to) gives me a migraine atm. 🎁🎄🎅
