Thank you x
I've put on 2.5 stones during covid and it's got to come off!
I do have a night out next week but I'll enjoy it and get back to calorie counting the next day :)
It's not been too bad. I just can't eat 3 doughnuts in one sitting - which is what I want to do! 😬🤣

Deathraystare · 19/11/2022 19:28

Bought what I thought was an old Helena Rubinstein perfume that I had not heard of. Tester size (well a bit bigger) I was looking on HR site in English (skin care is ££££. Was looking for mascaras actually but found something called Versat by (I thought) Helena Rubinstein but is called Helena by Versat perfumes (Doh!). It is ok though, Was only about £9 so not too upset!

Deathraystare · 19/11/2022 19:32

@Thatsasmashingblouseyouvegoton

Good luck with the cutting down/diet. I have a few Slim guards in the fridge so from Monday I will go back on that. I actually love the banana and coffee flavours.

Thatsasmashingblouseyouvegoton · 19/11/2022 22:58

Just FYI
4160tuesdays has an offer on til 3rd December
They will upgrade 30mls to 50mls and 50mls to 100mls

DramaAlpaca · 20/11/2022 00:04

I just had a nice surprise as I had ordered three 50ml bottles and hadn't realised there was an offer on until 4160T emailed me about upgrading to 100mls. Very happy with that.

I've just splurged on their January Joy box too.

FestivelyScent · 20/11/2022 00:56

I know what you mean @Alienbigcat45 I am feeling Christmassy, but I don't feel ready for Christmas, if that makes sense. There's usually so much I love to do in the run up, which is my absolute favourite time of year, but I've just been feeling so run down and ill this year, I don't have the energy. I'm just trying to take it one day at a time atm, and taking time to enjoy and appreciate all the little moments I can. Xmas Smile

SOTE is Youth-Dew again.

Nice! :)

I love advent/Xmas but I'm cleaning today so not feeling very Christmassy atm

No sotd unless you count HG mould and mildew remover 😬🤣

Deathraystare · 20/11/2022 11:27

Well I am not unhappy with my purchase from Verset. Got on the site and it is a Pharmacy that sells them.. it starts off in English until it describes the perfumes. Then it becomes French! Helena the one I bought reminds me of an 80s floral.

Cantonet · 20/11/2022 12:27

Sotd is Hermes Mandarin Ambre.
This feels very christmassy to me. I've been wanting this for ages & I spied it for a reasonable price on Amazon.
Can you all tell me about Oakmossery? I'm tempted to try it as Chypres are definitely my thing, but it still doesn't seem to be available in the sample size. Also are there any other Chypres worth trying in the 4160 Tuesdays range?
I'm with you on the losing weight of lockdown thing.
I've been trying since the end of July.
I've lost around 20 pounds, but seem to have come to a bit of a halt recently. I get Sad in Winter & become very lethargic. As does my dog ( old & ill & won't now walk in the dark or in rain 😢)

4160tuesdays chypres:

Court of ravens

Doe in the snow

Paris 1948

Thatsasmashingblouseyouvegoton · 20/11/2022 12:31

Scales say 5.5lb loss this morning

I've got an Xmas do on saturday though 😬

DramaAlpaca · 20/11/2022 16:50

@Cantonet you could always message 4160T via their website, they are very helpful and I reckon they could sort you out with an Oakmossery sample. To me, it's the perfect, pure, vintage type of chypre. It's woody and mossy, not in the least bit powdery. It reminds me a bit of Estee Lauder's Knowing but it's less floral and more subtle. Great staying power too.

I also love Court of Ravens which is kind of a fruity chypre (raspberry, I think) but while I adore it my work colleagues weren't too keen and thought it smelled like 'soggy sheep' Confused They are all younger than me and clearly don't have a clue. I will wear it defiantly, just maybe not at work!

I find Paris 1948 nice enough but a bit bland, I like a bit more body in my chypres. Doe in the Snow has such a wonderful name but I wasn't too keen, can't remember why now.

SOTD is MM Lazy Sunday Morning, because it was.

Thatsasmashingblouseyouvegoton · 20/11/2022 16:54

Sotd pp mmm btf
I love the inky blue of a winter twilight 💙 ❄️🌙

I was looking through the list for some modern chypres too, they have a few more:
both sides of clouds
rosa ribes
meet me on the corner

DramaAlpaca · 20/11/2022 17:09

Oh yes, I forgot Rosa Ribes. That's a blackcurranty chypre which smells like warm Ribena on first spraying, and very delicious it is too.

Thatsasmashingblouseyouvegoton · 20/11/2022 19:35

I really can't take advantage of the 4160tuesdays offer this time... got a 3for2 in the summer plus an October customisation.

I've asked for a 15ml of inevitable crimes of passion but can't upgrade to 30mls as that would be £110!! ☹️

FestivelyScent · 20/11/2022 22:05

It's Stir Up Sunday! Xmas Smile One week til Advent! 🎄🎁☃️

SOTE is Opium - orange-y spiciness for a perfumed nod to the occasion.

SOTD MMM Jazz Club. Yesterday was FM POAL.

DramaAlpaca · 21/11/2022 00:39

SOTE is Court of Ravens and the slight peppermint note is really coming through this evening.

I've remembered why I'm not too fond of Paris 1948 and Doe in the Snow - it's the peachy notes, which I'm never that keen on. Apart from in Mitsouko that is, maybe because there's no hint of sweetness there at all.

Thatsasmashingblouseyouvegoton · 21/11/2022 10:59

Sotd 4160tuesdays captured By Candlelight with added coffee ☕️

For a loooong day ahead

Yes both very peachy

Pigeon31 · 21/11/2022 11:06

SOTD: sample E from the oud box. Well this is very oudy - quite nice for cold weather.

Cantonet · 21/11/2022 11:22

Thank you so much @Thatsasmashingblouseyouvegoton & @DramaAlpaca . I will definitely message them about a sample of Oakmossery. I love peach Notes, but find minty notes tricky so that will be a easy decision. I've just remembered I have a peachy chypre decant from a vintage bottle of something I've completely forgotten the name of. But I reckon it might be appropriate & suitably warming for today's weather stinker of a day.
I was thrilled to find my spare new bottle of Wrappings yesterday I hid away a few years ago. Along with lots of clothes I'd forgotten about....

Cantonet · 21/11/2022 11:24

Oh & also thank you @Pigeon31 !
In the interest of fairness.
