A sad start to a new thread, but I hope we can celebrate the legacy of Elizabeth Regina, what a woman, and what style!

To all those who watched alone, it's lovely that we could share the day with you 💕

That was all very moving. My family has been away for the last week, so I am glad that I had the company of the MN Royal Style coterie for this.

Rest in peace, Your Majesty.

Same here. Thank you for your company today everyone.

lollipoprainbow · 19/09/2022 17:20

Watched alone too apart from my dd10 who didn't want to know and wondered why I was crying so much ! So thanks for sharing !!

It has made the funeral a much better experience for watching alongside my RSB crew.

Same for me, I am watching on my own today. It’s been lovely to share with you all, thank you.

Likewise I have been on my own too thank you everyone

Maireas · 19/09/2022 18:09

Princess Charlene looking very chic. I like her little hat, the dress is stylish. Princess Marie Chantal just behind.

Another powerful image.

I was not on my own today, but was glad to watch along with all of you. There seems to be so much negativity and cynicism around, and so this thread continues to be a respite.

I feel quite flat now though that it's over. The finality is sinking in.

Yes I feel exhausted from it all today. I’m hoping they won’t wait too long for the coronation we could all do with cheering up. They must have had plans for it as our late Queen was very elderly

Spudlet · 19/09/2022 18:50

I kept expecting to see her sitting in the pews in a smart coat and hat… it felt so wrong not to have her there at such a big occasion. 😭

Marie-Chantel looks like Nadine Baggot now!

frugalkitty · 19/09/2022 18:55

I think today has been the perfect send off, not too gloomy but just the right balance of splendour and sadness. Bet the royals will be in bed early tonight! And again, I doubt M is pregnant because they said ages ago they'd only be having two because of the environmental impact. No dig at W and K intended I'm sure!

It's been, as always, a pleasure to chat ladies. You'll be interested to know that I've multi tasked today's events with cooking my Christmas cake to get ahead of the energy price rises at the end of the month. Back to school tomorrow, roll on half term 😁

KillingMeDeftly · 19/09/2022 18:58

I don't think she's pregnant either, it's just that she went for a slightly looser style that's body-skimming rather than body-con. Sensible of her really, if you're going to spend most of the day sitting down then the last you need is a waistband digging into you!

lollipoprainbow · 19/09/2022 19:01

@Spudlet yes it felt odd not to see her there 😪

Interesting that both Kate and Meghan opted for black versions of dresses they'd worn before.

I think I’d you've worn something before and know you like it, feel good in it and that the aesthetics are right n photographs, it’s quite a sensible way of doing it.

As long as you’re still the same size next time you need to wear it!

NiqueNique · 19/09/2022 19:08

*if you’ve worn it...

MotherofPearl · 19/09/2022 19:11

I enjoyed this short piece on the styles from today:

KillingMeDeftly · 19/09/2022 19:15

I thought Carrie Johnson's dress was awful. There's something very noughties about Karen Millen.

justasking111 · 19/09/2022 19:24

Seeing George again today. The Spencer genes are strong. Those eyes and square chin. They're handsome children

KillingMeDeftly · 19/09/2022 19:26

George looks nothing like the Spencers or Windsors! He's Mike Middleton v2.0.

I agree with you - it's another rented dress that neither fits nor suits her.

Spudlet · 19/09/2022 19:31

I wonder if Kate chose that dress specifically because it’s a black version of the one she wore at the Jubilee? A bit of symmetry with the Queen’s last big public event perhaps.

It’s a style that feels a bit too stiff for many events, but it works really well at a formal church service like today.

MotherofPearl · 19/09/2022 19:11

Thanks! That piece explains Jacinda's stole too! And names it!
