Not sure what thread number we are up to here but ALL ABOARD if you get JOY from buying and trying beauty products!!!

We sometimes enable but we also share out thoughts, support one another and generally share our love of beauty consumerism!

Two more small/travel size empties:

Elemis pro-collagen rose cleansing balm. This is gorgeous, soothing and smells of old fashioned tea rose.

L:A Bruket Tval body wash, love it, the lemongrass smell is fresh and beautiful, the wash isn't harsh and leaves my skin soft.

I wont repurchase either yet as I have other cleansing products to use up but would certainly buy in the future.

Experiment627 · 10/09/2022 19:18

Yes it does have mother @OchonAgusOchonOh - it is organic and unpasteurised!!!

Someone may or may not have just done two massive orders of sunscreens and sunsticks to try. They might be preparing for the incoming hot bastard weather… (taking advantage of Northern Hemisphere change of seasons sale prices.) Some skincare may have fallen into their carts as well… Wonder how that happened?

Experiment627 · 11/09/2022 13:15

Gosh @Fraaahnces how did that all happen?

AnchorWHAT · 11/09/2022 14:44

I fell for the hype on some sand and sky products but they are a bit underwhelming for the price. Just reordered Paulas choice bha liquid as its made a massive difference to my nose pores. I am proud to say i added a few expensive travel sizes and a way overpriced full size cream that promised miracles but took them out again before buying as i have way too many lotions and potions in my cupboard. It used to be searching for the holygrail of haircare for my frizz but i got rid of a load of stuff that did not work but somehow seem to have replaced that obsession with a skincare one 😳

Fraaahnces · 11/09/2022 15:13

Sand & Sky is so expensive here, and not exactly revolutionary or unique ingredients…

I will attach photos of what I bought… the photo below is divided into quarters work clockwise from top left and I will explain.

  1. Skincare… two eye makeup removers. (One for DD1) Mini vitamin c cream. (Try before investing) Glow Serum Essence - fermented filtrate Essence. Yuja Oil for cuticles & feet.
  2. Makeup… Mascara was two for less than one. It’s the best ever. Clio Kill Lash. Laneige Neo Cushion Glowy. Even if I don’t love it, I can wash out the foundation and fill the cushion with sunscreen. The Numbuzin toneup thing is one of those green to beige self-adjusting makeup/sunscreen hybrid things. It’s for my décolleté. 3) Three different-textured suncreams. 4) Sunsticks. All different as well. The second photo is a haul I am still waiting on. Two Sunsticks (yes, I bought more) A sunscreen cream, a ceramide mist (for work) and a vitamin C serum.

Had a throw out of some old make up. Got stacks more to go, but it's less painful a little at a time

Ah fek! Cannot get the photo to load! Will try again later!

OP posts:
Fraaahnces · 11/09/2022 21:14

Eh? I’m absolutely not famous!

Experiment627 · 12/09/2022 11:19

Still cannot load - but basically @Fraaahnces you were featured in an MN email talking about Tranwhatsaface Acid!!!!

I have 3 empties:

  • Bloom collection by Superdrug driftwood & sea salt: 🤢🤢🤢 will give to my SIL (so not actually an empty)
  • Superdrug Me+ acacia collagen booster: great to add to other creams or on its own
  • Garnier micellar water - the pink one: works fine. This was a travel size. I am out of micellar water 😱😱😱😱 maybe not a bad thing as makes me use proper cleansers!

That’s hilarious… wonder why they didn’t come on here and ask directly?

Buster27 · 12/09/2022 22:21

Not sure if this thread will help me deplete my stockpile or make me buy more but there's only one way to find out Grin I meant to join weeks ago and got as far as taking pic 1 but then school holidays fried my brain. So now I'm joining with a 2 lots of empties.

Beauty Pie Shampoo & Conditioner - Didn't like at all, left my (fine, coloured) hair greasy looking. Won't repurchase obviously.

Garnier Nutrisse restoring conditioner - Love this, a regular for me as it comes with my hair dye.

Wild deodorant in peach bellini - Didn't get on with this at all and was disappointed, however.. I didn't know how long it would last so I bought a spare (Sea Salt & Cotton) cartridge which I gave a try and I really like it! The texture is nice and creamy and I love the scent (wasn't a fan of peach bellini scent). Now I'm wondering if some scents are just better than others, or perhaps it was an old/not well stored cartridge as I got it from a friend who didn't like it. I would repurchase the Sea Salt & Cotton or similar scents but not the more novelty sounding scents like candyfloss after the PB experience.

Bodyshop Moringa Shower Gel - This was from an extremely old gift set I received at some point but still smelt lovely. Would happily have this again.

Tesco seaweed & cucumber face wash - Fine, did the job but was a bit bored of it by the end so wouldn't repurchase.

Beauty Pie pimple patches - crap, if anything made spots worse for me! Obviously won't be buying again Grin

Bodyshop strawberry face mist - really liked this, refreshing and loved the scent. Would buy again but have a feeling it got discontinued, and I have a few others in the cupboard to try anyway!

Bodyshop Berry bath blend - one from last years advent calendar. Really like this and would happily repurchase.

Bodyshop almond milk & honey body butter - Part of a gift set I got last Christmas. Love the bodyshop butters/yogurts but this wasn't my favourite scent so wouldn't buy this particular one again.

Beauty Pie retinol serum and night moisturiser - been using this since April I think, my skin seems to really like it so I already have replacements in stock.

Phew, that was long! So I am wondering about shampoo/conditioner (which is probably the only item I don't have so can justify buying some!). Any recommendations for fine, coloured hair? Are expensive shampoos worth it?

Only item I don't have a stash off that should say.. I do have Shampoo Grin I usually just pick up something in the supermarket but don't have a go-to so would like to find one I love.

Experiment627 · 13/09/2022 19:09

Welcome @Buster27!!! Have you tried Kerastase shampoo? Or Wella?

OP posts:
CurlyFerret · 13/09/2022 21:07

@Buster27 blimey that’s an epic list! I was feeling proud of my first report of empties - a mere 3 😃

Cult51 Day Cream - tried the small pot in F&M Advent Calendar last year and loved it so repurchased…and have again really feel like my skin has improved

L’Occitane Herbae L’Eau shower gel - was ok nothing special, I think there are nicer ones. Have a major stash of small shower gels so determined to use up before succumbing to more…

Leighton Denny quick dry nail spray (no pic) - did the trick but prefer Seche Vite top coat so will probably stick with that.

Buster27 · 14/09/2022 21:44

@Experiment627 I haven't but I did very nearly buy some Kerastase shampoo before so think I will start there Smile

Experiment627 · 15/09/2022 11:09

Um... am not feeling inspired by any of the advents I have seen so far... could it be I am advented out? 😱😱😱

OP posts:
clary · 15/09/2022 11:28

@CurlyFerret I loved that cult51 day cream too. Sadly not in f abd m this year. Will rp when I run out of day cream*

*so, never:D

PomRuns · 15/09/2022 21:07

🤣

I love that cream. I don’t know if I could spend that much normally.

Maranello · 15/09/2022 22:45

I have a confession: I succumbed to the M&S beauty box. At £20 with the Sparks discount it seemed wrong not to. Oops

Experiment627 · 16/09/2022 06:56

Enjoy @Maranello !

OP posts:
LivingDeadGirlUK · 16/09/2022 14:16

The M&S box looks alright actually.

I've finished a nivia aloe vera day cream. supposed to be for combination skin but I found it left me very clammy. Would not repurchase.
