Not sure what thread number we are up to here but ALL ABOARD if you get JOY from buying and trying beauty products!!!

We sometimes enable but we also share out thoughts, support one another and generally share our love of beauty consumerism!

Living proof do a fantastic but expensive dry shampoo that you put straight on after blow drying, it's loads better than cheap alternatives. I used to wash my hair sometimes twice a day due to my job and can now go 3 days before I have to wash it.

Thanks @OchonAgusOchonOh did you hear that TKMaxx is closing down? I probably should get to one and see if I can get any beauty bargains. The Arpege that is out at the moment is the version that was reformulated in 1993 - I like it but it is no way near the gorgeousness that was the original formulation - which is what the YT lady was advising me on. Sorry I was not clear about this.

I would be distraught if TK Maxx shut. I buy most of my clothes there (not a huge selection of shops where I live). I did google and saw they had record profits in Ireland in 2022 so maybe it's just the UK? From google it seems to be just some stores.

Experiment627 · 22/02/2023 18:16

My SIL will be relieved if this is the case @OchonAgusOchonOh

It does seem to be some TK Max stores, rather than all of them. The list is available online, but I can't get it to load.
I've never had much success with dry shampoo. Have tried one specifically made for curly hair, and quite frankly, it was expensive, and pants. It was a good make, possibly John Frieda, tho I couldn't swear to it.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 22/02/2023 19:33

These are the ones that are closing.

TK Maxx: Meadowbank Shopping Park, Edinburgh - closing February 15
Homesense: Arndale Shopping Centre, Manchester - closing March 1
Homesense: Parc Fforestfach, Swansea- closing TBC

I'm safe!

Fraaahnces · 23/02/2023 10:50

Purple Zoflora for the win! Have discovered that there is a company that imports Rhubarb Fabuloso. Going to mix the two and make Aura scent.

greenspaces4peace · 23/02/2023 21:18

Happy to post an empty!!
thin almost watery, absorbed well with a light pleasant fragrance…
but somehow lacking, just not what I’m looking for. I won’t be repurchasing.

@SpongeBobJudgeyPants thanks for the list!

I have some empties:

  • Marks & Spencer Formula Absolute ultimate sleep cream: still HG for me
  • Sunday Riley light hearted broad spectrum SPF 30: was ok but think I still prefer the Skin Defence from The Body Shop
  • Thalgo cold cream marine body milk: smell very evocative for me. Only got a couple of uses out of 30ml

A restock for me! Got 20% off at cult beauty, used £15 of cult beauty points and £30 from TopCashback so only paid £15.

CinnamonCoffee · 24/02/2023 13:57

And my empties this week
Farmacy honey halo. This is literally the best moisturiser I've ever used! It's a staple for me
Inky list polyglutsmic acid. Had this in an advent and it's lovely and hydrating
Pai face mask which is also lovely but no actives which I look for
And Hada labo sheet mask! Lots of serum and really nice. Will buy again.
Total 19

Hi!

My empties are:

  • aveeno cream moisturising cream. I like the texture but not the smell. DH helps with this one.
  • Huggies pure wipes: perfect fro little bums, hands etc. I love the feel in the hands and that they don’t have perfume. I have plenty to go through.
  • Avon sleeptherapy. That one was last’s week but here is the picture.
  • Eyedrops for dry eyes. They do what they’re saying.
  • Tonocream almond oil. Thick oil bought in Spain. I like the texture but not a fan pf the smell. I have 3 more to go xD

I have an empty: Revolution Hyaluronic Acid

Absolutely love thjs and will be using it from now on instead of The Ordinary.

MavisMcMinty · 24/02/2023 18:42

How does it compare price-wise, @RosetteNebula ?

How does it compare price-wise, @RosetteNebula ?

The Revolution one is £6.40 I think but I bought a few from Amazon in the Black Friday sales for £4.66. A quick Google tells me The Ordinary is £7.90. The Revolution one is thicker, easier to apply and I feel that it hydrates my skin more.

MavisMcMinty · 24/02/2023 19:25

Thank you Rosette.

Experiment627 · 24/02/2023 20:43

Um... so I was just looking at my stash earlier thinking "wow hardly anything left"... then went to Superdrug presents thing... stash now bigger than it ever has been. Will go through and try and give away everything I do not think I will use!

I've got 5 empties from last week, I was away so worked my way through quite a few mini products.

Medik8 Crystal Retinol 10 - this is a HG product for me, never without it. I do feel it has stopped, or at least slowed, the formation of new lines.
Omorocvizca Moor Cream Cleanser - as a cleanser it was alright, but it made a real mess. I was glad I wasn't using it at home.
Herlinda Sandalwood and Grapefruit Body Wash - not mad about the scent, too much sandalwood and not enough grapefruit for me,
Revive Revitalising Eye Mask - really liked this, it's a cream, not a mask, but nice texture that absorbed well.
Philip Kingsley Body Building Shampoo - hadn't used this brand for a while, didn't mind it but wouldn't splash out for it. I've been using s as bottle of Faith in Nature since I finished this and it's much better (and a lot cheaper)

That takes me to 40 products this year.

Hi @Experiment627

I had to google what this Superdrug presents thing is and I am sooooo jealous!!

I wish I could go and see what the bag of goodies is. Could you please let us know what it is that was in there? 🤗

Experiment627 · 25/02/2023 10:04

@Thereislightattheendofthetunnel the event was a but underwhelming TBH but I did get to speak to the buyer of Superdrug Me+ range which was great.

The goody bag had stuff that is sold at Superdrug - here are some highlights:

  • Ghost EDT (anyone want this?)
  • Bioderma micellar water
  • Flexitol
  • 2 pairs false eyelashes
  • some lipsticks/lip glosses
  • Batiste leave in conditioner
  • Shea shampoo
  • Revolution mini eyeshadow palette
  • Colgate toothpaste
  • lots more... so heavy!!!

Well worth the £25 entry fee

Thereislightattheendofthetunnel · 25/02/2023 10:10

That sounds really worth it, at least you will be sorted for a while.

I’ll adopt your perfume if you want 😂

PomRuns · 25/02/2023 10:53

@Experiment627 I posted the perfume 😊

Experiment627 · 25/02/2023 11:51

@PomRuns thank you so much - it just arrived!!!!! So excited to try it!

@Thereislightattheendofthetunnel DM me your address and I will post to you.

Ah hope you enjoy. I randomly couldn’t find a Jiffy bag so had to use a Clarins packet !

RosetteNebula · 25/02/2023 16:42

Two empties this morning:

Body Shop Drops of Youth Liquid Peel Got this is as a freebie nearly two years ago and just finished it. I use it once a week and I really like it. Have already repurchased.

Soap and Glory Scrub of Your Life Got this in a set in the sales and have used it many times over the years. I love it, proper gritty body scrub and smells lovely.

Experiment627 · 25/02/2023 16:45

Ooo fancyschmany @PomRuns 💜
