We don’t come even close to having the range of “flavours” you lot do with Zoflora. This is it I’m afraid…. I bought the Mandarin one and the Summer Breeze one. Let’s see if it’s worth the hype. I have a big cleaning day ahead of me tomorrow before a blood donation.

So what is zoflora used for? I saw some in the supermarket recently. It's not terribly available here.

Should I get some?

Fraaahnces · 15/02/2023 10:29

It’s a multi-purpose, disinfectant cleaning product that supposedly smells lovely. It is concentrated and can be diluted and put in a bucket for floor cleaner, in a spray bottle as above, used to soak items to kill germs, used as a fabric spray (my main interest thanks to Ivy and her tumbleweeds of falling summer coat.) etc… I have also seen many, many, many devotees of some UK cleaning guru treading the mumsnet boards who has many Zoflora recipes for housewifely goddesshood as well. (I just wanna start with the dog stink for now, but will admit that I’m tempted to hurl in a drop or two of Basil essential oil to my mandarin and lime to see if I can fake a Jo Malone moment when I clean my bathroom tomorrow)

RosetteNebula · 15/02/2023 11:02

Think I'm going to have another empty and for once I'll be chucking the contents which isn't something I often do. Got so excited when I found a load of the discontinued Hylamide SubQ Skin in TK Maxx and nought 3 of the HA Blur too thinking I'd love it. I absolutely hate it. I've donated the two unopened ones.

It's lovely, especially the Fresh Linen and as someone else said a little goes a long way. I use it as a general disinfectant ie wiping benches and also for getting smells out of furniture or carpets.

That sounds interesting. I'm all for dealing with doggy whiffs.

Just be careful with the Jo Malone dupe attempts. Remember it's not a perfume.

Can I add it to the washing machine to disinfect things? I use a dettol washing liquid that supposedly disinfects at the moment.

Please share your Zoflora uses lovely ladies of like minds…. I really don’t think I could bump souls with the competitive “Mama Bear” types who define themselves via housework. (I mean it’s gotta get done, but I resent the ever loving F out of it. Where’s the glamour?)

Aparantly you can't use it in the fridge

Yes!

PomRuns · 15/02/2023 11:27

I don’t use it - I did read should not mix with other products and there were some reports around concerns with the vapour?

MavisMcMinty · 15/02/2023 11:52

I missed the Look Fantastic advent calendar last year, but bought it after Christmas at a reduced price and it was the best advent calendar they’ve ever done imo. Anyway, still for sale at £74.10, so I’ve bought another one for my sister’s Christmas present this year, using my £20 credit, so £54.10 for £500-worth of products ain’t bad!

Also had a Boots advent calendar - dull and dependable - and the aforementioned Perricone 12-day one, which was nice to try but hasn’t won me over to the brand.

Oh dear I'm considering buying it now...

MidnightMeltdown · 15/02/2023 12:37

I have the Springtime Zoflora which I like.

I mainly use it for cleaning cat stuff (e.g. I soak their feeding mat in it once a week), and I occasionally use it on the kitchen floor if they've made a mess. I also put it in the outside drain sometimes to stop it smelling.

Experiment627 · 15/02/2023 13:20

Ah fek really hope Zoflora is not unsafe!!! I use a little sometimes in the washing machine when there sick on the bedding/clothes (from DS). Sometimes I just out a few drops in a tub of water to provide a glorious smell to bathroom/kitchen. Have been known to also put a few drops on a kitchen paper towel and tuck this somewhere in living room...

Oh sorry @OchonAgusOchonOh - I didn’t mean that I would use it on myself! I meant that I wanted my bathroom to smell like a fancy Jo Malone spa! It’s storm season here and Ivy is the size of a moose, and has gone from treating our en-suite as her fallout bunker to her bedroom now. The flooffy weirdo has become more anxious as she gets more “mature”. Our en-suite smells like a boarding kennel atm. (Could be DH as well. He’s been shedding for a few years as well.)

How did you go with your gigantic storm??? I hope you and your loved ones are all safe and dry.

Fraaahnces · 15/02/2023 13:32

@plumduck - I have three teenagers. Nothing lasts long enough in the fridge to cause any issues. I clean with my usual Method pink grapefruit spray.

MavisMcMinty · 15/02/2023 13:38

Also just received a Glossybox Grazia Best of Beauty box (£40) which had 3 items missing - after raising this with them they’re sending me a whole new box and haven’t asked me to send the incomplete one back!!!!!

MavisMcMinty · 15/02/2023 13:39

(I’ve packed the incomplete box up in its postal packaging anyway, just in case.)

MavisMcMinty · 15/02/2023 13:41

I really am a total beauty box addict. I console myself that should we be plunged into a nuclear winter or other end of civilisation scenario, I’ll have a lifetime’s supply of cosmetics and skincare, with plenty left over to exchange with neighbours in return for food.

I was joking 😁. I didn't really think you were planning on splashing yourself with it.

Your poor dog. Most bizarre place I have ever found a dog during a storm was sitting on top of the keyboard in the kitchen cubby we keep the computer in.

We've had no storms lately although there are suggestions we might get another beast from the east at the end of the month.

@OchonAgusOchonOh Looking at my 60kg carpet with eyes imagining her giving that a whirl. (She absolutely would if she thought there was a possibility of treats/food/squeaky toys/socks/hair scrunchies.)

Thereislightattheendofthetunnel · 15/02/2023 16:31

Hey ladies!

I was reading your comments and thought I might share.
Going back to the zooflora thing, it’s a UK thing I guess. In Spain there isn’t any and I was a bit adamant about trying it.

Having said that, I use it to mop the floor and to clean the baseboards. If you add a bit to a cloth and clean the radiator the smell will travel once it’s on.

@Fraaahnces for your interest in fragrance I will say that zooflora Midnight Bloom smells just like Alien by Mugler 😜

My one is only around 15kg so fitted on it quite nicely. The second one is around 10kg but struggles to get off the ground. She just about manages to jump up on my lap but she takes about 5 minutes to work up the courage and comes at it from a few different angles to work out the best approach.
