This weeks empties. Not very exciting I'm afraid:

4) Better You Magnesium Flakes - nice and relaxing after a long hard week! You put the whole bag in one bath but it dissolved really easily and didn't leave a mess.

5) Elvive Conditioner - think that this is the last of these in my stash. It's fine, I'm just bored of it after working my way through a multipack.

Total for the year: 5/130

loz12345 · 14/01/2023 16:50

1st and 2nd empty - davines oi all in one milk & Ren Atlantic Kelp hand lotion - loved the hair milk and will repurchase once I have used some of the other products I have and the Ren was fine but not really anything special. It is a bit too thin to be nourishing in winter but might be ok for summer so wouldn’t repurchase

I’m currently going through that hand cream too. The bottle irritates me. I prefer a tube as the bottle is hard to get the cream out of from when you get towards the end.

loz12345 · 15/01/2023 09:22

@OchonAgusOchonOh - I know the bottle really annoyed me there was quite a bit left at the bottom that I couldn’t get out so I took the scissors to it.

LadyEloise1 · 15/01/2023 10:15

At least the Ren hand lotion has a flip top lid.
I think it should be the law that hand-creams have flip top lids. Having to screw the top back on with greasy hands is yuck. Glares at Neutrogena etc.

OchonAgusOchonOh · 15/01/2023 10:29

Excellent idea. We should start a petition.

clary · 15/01/2023 11:48

Hey all, fell off the thread badly but have been busy using up.

Latest empties
Elemis body cream - chucking this as it doesn't absorb well at all tho i like the smell
Elemis cleanser - bit of an HG for me, I bought this and might RP
True face oil - from H&B last year, really liked this
Kili.g face and neck mousse - from H&B advent as well, surprised how much I liked this, a possible RP as not expensive I don;t think
elizabeth Arden ceramide capsules - not often mentioned on here but I have loved these in the past. I think this must be a different variety (bought with a voucher for John Lewis) as they didn't moisturise as much as I recalled, so will have to look agai to see if I can work out which ones I had and liked before.
Drunk elephant night serumm - pretty meh
Aurelia night cream - love this, HG, will rp when I am out of night cream (so, never)
Kate Someville Exfolikate - also love this, might RP when have nothing else like it in stash
111 Skin eye mask - nice to use and good for relaxing.

7 empties for me this week and quite a few full sizes.

OUAI Detox Shampoo - I love this, already on to my next product. This an a HG for me, I use it once a week and love how my hair feels afterward.
OUAI Medium Shampoo - Really like this, trying to work out if I can justify the expense for an everyday shampoo. Got a couple of shampoos to get through before I have to decide, but I may well get again.
Baylis and Harding Jojoba,Vaniland Almond Oil Body Lotion - from a gift set, too sickly sweet for me, so like all body lotions I don't rate,I've been using it on my feet. Can't smell it from a distance and through socks!
Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray - honestly, I don't notice any difference using this, but I've acquired 2 so am working my way through them.
Aveda Botanicsl Repair Strengthening Leave-in Treatment - Something else I've acquired loads of from advent calendars and GWPs. I've finally got round to using it and I do really like it, definitely improves the condition of my hair.
Maison Francis Kurkdjian Grand Soirée Eau de parfum - I've been working my way through a selection of minis from this brand and this was my favourite, I wouldn't splash out on it (prefer Portrait of a Lady and Le Labo fragrances) but would be happy to get some.
Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour - liked this product, had metallic taupe, would definitely get again in a less metallic shade.

That takes me to 16 products used up this year, but I do have quite a few new things arriving in the next few weeks, so not making headway yet.

MidnightMeltdown · 15/01/2023 15:55

@OchonAgusOchonOh - I'm using the same hand cream atm and also hate the bottle! I do like the cream though.

@clary - I was impressed with that Kili.g moisturiser too, and the Aurelia cream has a lovely texture - so buttery!

@dylgan - I spy 8 empties!

TheChosenTwo · 15/01/2023 18:19

I did a pretty much no buy last year on makeup/skincare/all things beauty and worked hard on using up open things, declutter anything expired and passing on things that were fine to share but didn’t suit me.
Now got everything down to a bare minimum and feel so much better, I had begun to feel like I had a ‘collection’ and I think the term was inappropriate for what I wanted out of it. I don’t want to be a ‘collector’ of any of it, I only wanted things that I knew I loved and wanted to use. It’s so much more manageable now and I won’t be feeling bad about buying anything that takes my fancy now if I think I’ll use it.

dylgan · 15/01/2023 18:38

I missed the Tata Harper Rejuvenarative Cleanser - I don't normally get too carried away with a cleanser, but I really loved this and it may have been the decisive factor in me buying the Net a potter advent calendar at 65% off!!

Buster27 · 16/01/2023 14:21

Rituals Karma body cream - nice although I think I preferred the other scent in the summer box (Mehr) and definitely preferred the body cream in a tub. Would probably RP in the tub version.

Body Shop oils of life serum - this was interesting. Initially I just found it too oily and didn't like it on my face (great smell though) and after using about half shelved it. For some reason I decided to try it again recently and LOVED it. My skin really got on with it this time. I have a hopefully similar product coming home as a GWP so I'm looking forward to trying it. Would RP.

Body Shop Moringa Soap - I love the moringa scent (even on a decade old bar Grin) and the bar lasted ages so this was good. I prefer using a gel or cream though.

9/104

LadyEloise1 · 16/01/2023 18:15

I'd prefer Rituals cream in a tube rather than a tub. I love the Rituals Jing scent.

CurlyFerret · 16/01/2023 19:44

Ooh can’t remember what my target was and don’t know how to find my previous post 😳 think it was 100 and I’ve had 1 empty so far…so I’ll make a note this time.

Anyway 3 to report…

Pantene Lift n Volume shampoo loved this and I’ve officially abandoned the expensive ones for now at least whilst ever this works on my fine hair

Le Petit Marseillais ‘Lait D’Amande Douce’ or Almond I think. Unimpressed with this one, quite drying and won’t repeat this particular one

Living Proof 5 in 1 styling treatment loves this amazingly effective on my fine hair! Doesn’t seem to be readily available to RP though

so I think I’m 4/100 now

Lost the thread! Back on it. Happy 2023 everyone!

Buster27 · 17/01/2023 10:10

@LadyEloise1 haven't tried Jing but it sounds nice from the description! Might try it if I ever get through my mountain of body creams and lotions 😅

LivingDeadGirlUK · 17/01/2023 13:16

I have finished a 10ml of Shay and Blue perfume in Black Tulip. Loved this one would def repurchase but I got some new perfume to try for Christmas so not rebuying now.

FiveShelties · 22/01/2023 03:31

Three empties for me. Push Up Buttocks was lovely, from an AC I think. Don't think it did any good, think I would need a much bigger tube, but it was good to use. Shampoo left my hair shiny and smelt nice. Would RP if not for the many other bottles lurking in the cupboard. Third item was wipes, which I hardly ever use now.

6 used now, target 96. No purchases to date.

PomRuns · 22/01/2023 08:18

January target achieved:

Neom great day moisturiser. Absolutely useless. Dud not sink in, did not moisturise.

Oliverum body oil. It was good, strong herby fragrance though ( and seems to be in every GWP).

Nip and Fab vitamin c face mask. Would not rp - was just one lurking that I decided to
use up.

7/80
1 sample.

Whoo hoo I have 2 empties for the New Year.
Cyclax nature pure cocoa butter- dh got this when he was away and forgot to take his usual Aveeno. This was a cheaper version of Palmers cocoa butter, it smelt ok and absorbed quite quickly but didn't seem to moisturise my skin very well.

L'oreal elvive extraordinary clay rebalancing conditioner-this was ok think I prefer the Dream Lengths conditioner though.

dylgan · 22/01/2023 18:40

3 empties this week.
Soapsmith Lavender Hill Bath Soak - this was divine, got it in a Liberty set. I'm not sure I could justify the buying it at full price, but I loved using it, it filled the bathroom with a fabulous scent.
Sisley Revitalising Volumising Shampoo - only a small sample, but seemed good, didn't wow me enough to make me want to buy it.
Vilhelm Parfumerie Moon carnival Eau de Parfum- nice, wouldn't but though.

That's 20 products finished - I've almost got through all my tiny perfume samples, they've been keeping my numbers up.

I feel like we are on 🔥so far this year!!!

I have a few more empties to report:

  • Lacura Cotton 48 hour anti-perspirant: not as effective as the one I got in Aldi in Spain, pongy pits detectable by the end of the day. But anyhoo who actually expects a deodorant to last 48 hours???
  • belif The true cream - aqua bomb: got this in an Ulta Beauty set of minis. This really was the bomb! Really felt like face was being nourished. 10ml pot was just enough for a few days away.
  • Urban Decay all nighter setting spray sample size: meh... not keen on the smell and sometimes I got drop marks on face. An unnecessary step, in my opinion.
  • Collection Lasting Perfection Glow foundation (Fair 5): not sure how old this is but now pump is not working so am chucking. I want to really streamline all my concealers and foundations so I can justify trying the Lisa Eldridge foundation
  • ESPA optimal skin pro-serum 4ml: this was a gift on a recent spa day which was amazeballs. Was not too keen on the herbal smell of this oil but my skin seemed happy enough.
  • Boots No7 Hydra Luminous overnight gel cream: this is lightweight yet moisturising. I mainly used up on my legs though, in a bid to finish up.
  • First Aid Beauty KP smoothing body lotion: Only a small tube so not really enough to judge if this helped with KP. TBH my chicken skin is doing really well at the minute - I think moisturising daily makes a big difference.
  • Nivea Creme Soft: last of the trio in the advent

Anyone else find that they run out of/low on the same categories of things in their stockpiles at the same time? I’ve just finished what was left of the darker shade of my Purito CICA CLEARING BB CREAM. After stating that I would always have this in my stash, it snuck up on me, and of course I am going to have to reorder. I have had to resort to using the dregs of my (rather antique) iT Cosmetics CC Cream. It’s not going to last very long, even though I always sheer it out by 3:1 with my Missha Glow Cream. I think I need to place an order for a couple of tubes of the Purito. I am currently unwittingly playing a game of Sunscreen Chicken with Australia Post. I placed an order in that has been sitting on the dock in Sydney since NOVEMBER. Sincerely hope I have enough of my faves left until this stuff turns up. Am deeply shitty that they are using COVID as an excuse while repeatedly increasing price of postage. Bastards. Same with moisturizing face mist. Am now back studying in awfully frigid airconditioned labs and don’t want to pay 8x the amount for what is sitting waiting for me on the dock. (Must have stuff that fits in pockets) Rant!!!

OchonAgusOchonOh · 24/01/2023 11:02

Bare minerals foundation. I love this and, thankfully as it is currently out of stock everywhere, I have a couple more in my stash.

Inkey list hyaluronic acid. I do think this has made a difference. I have more 😁

No 7 firming serum. No idea what it's meant to do but it didn't do it.

No 7 serum. I have one more in my stash. Once that (and all the other serums) are finished, I will move on to the pink one.
