@supadupapupascupa how did you manage to get 20% off cb- the most discount I could find was £20 which just wasn’t enough to tempt me x

supadupapupascupa · 21/10/2022 15:09

I used oct20 apparently it's not working now so I might have just got lucky which makes a change....

MidnightMeltdown · 22/10/2022 23:55

More empties:

104) Drunk Elephant Cream - Really liked this. It was quite thick so I would only use it in autumn/winter, but it sank in really nicely. Didn't leave a greasy layer on the surface of my skin like many creams do

105) Drunk Elephant Retinol - ok, mild, not sure if it does anything

106) Tata Harper Cleanser - didn't like the smell but it was pretty good at removing makeup. Left skin feeling very clean. Not worth the crazy price tag imo.

107) Elizabeth Arden tinted lip protectant - old favourite. Buy regularly.

Total for the year: 107/125

18 more to go! 🥳

I will check out the garnier 7 day. Looking for a HG body cream or oil and it's 3.49 in superdrug at the moment. I hope its not too scented.

I feel like I need to try this now too 😂

Fraaahnces · 23/10/2022 01:38

@MidnightMeltdown You’re killing it!!! I am failing this miserably. Not going to say what damage my CC has had this week. (Tbf, have chucked out an enormous amount of makeup so far beyond the use-by date it’s embarrassing and DD’s have found my skincare haul.)

FiveShelties · 23/10/2022 08:25

PomRuns · 21/10/2022 08:51

@supadupapupascupa I’m tenored to look at CB. Enjoy it !
@FiveShelties are you’re a Kiwi, I have loads of Kiwi friends and can’t wait to visit NZ again 😊You definitely need a few treats to take back. You do have that lovely manuka bee stuff though.

I have dual nationality, but I am Lancashire born and bred! I love to fill my suitcase up with treats and Merino Jumpers etc from M & S which cost around the third of the Merinos in NZ. Quite bizarre really as we do have the odd sheep here.

FiveShelties · 23/10/2022 08:26

@MidnightMeltdown that is a lot of empties. Amazing how much stuff we actually get through over a year.

Fraaahnces · 23/10/2022 09:08

@PomRuns & @tinx I have NEVER heard anyone say a good word about that bloody magic cream. (I heard someone refer to it as “repackaged and heavily perfumed bloody sorbolene cream that gave me zits acne” once) I’ve never even schniffed it.
@FiveShelties Merino’s lovely, but surely you have a possum knit or two. As someone with Raynaud’s I am rather smitten with possum knittin. (Not enough to knit it myself, mind…)

Experiment627 · 23/10/2022 09:39

I have a few empties to report:

  • Tresemme hydrate & purify shampoo and conditioner: really liked this, worked a treat on my oily roots, although still need to wash hair every day unless want an oil slick. The accompanying scalp scrub is still pretty full - completely not a fan. Is like putting sand on your hair. A right bugger to rinse out.
  • Aldi no1 lime, basil & mandarin hand & body wash: great Jo Malone dupe, will defo RP at some point (although I do keep meaning to switch to soap)
  • Superdrug Me+ prebiotic booster: not sure if this does anything but I enjoyed boosting my body cream with it
  • Lacura healthy glow glycolic toner: such good value for a 5%er; smells nice and does the job. Would defo repurchase.
  • Catrice true skin foundation: 2 jars that have separated and life is too short. Despite Tati's recommendation, these were not for me.

I am currently trying to use up everything I have open skincare wise, whilst only using Atrixo hand cream, on my face, at night. I read somewhere this is a great hack. So far my face has not fallen off.

Not sure I mentioned but I got the Nivea advent. Was on sale. Very modest in comparison to other years. And gives me an absolute shot at working through my stash. I current have two full skincare routines to try out plus loads of advent goodies. I think I need to try using a mask a day etc to get the stash down.

Thank you @Fraaahnces and @FiveShelties 😊

TBF I had very few empties in August and September so I'm making up for it now! Have also been trying to get through some of the smaller items which are easy wins.

I've got too many advent calendars as usual 🙈 so I need to make space!

MidnightMeltdown · 23/10/2022 12:26

I feel your pain with the oily hair @Experiment627

I wash my mine every other day (as I'd go crazy having to wash and dry it everyday) but it doesn't look it's best on the second day. Christophe Robin salt scrub helps a bit for me.

Have just bought the Tresemme cleanse and replenish shampoo to try. Got the Keratin conditioner to go with.

PomRuns · 23/10/2022 14:08

Lots of progress @MidnightMeltdown @Experiment627 😊

@Fraaahnces I also don’t know anyone who rates CT….
hope you’ve lots of suitcase room @FiveShelties

Aveda Botanical repair - a staple product.
Bumble and Bumble hair mask. Was not effective at all, hair felt quite dry post use.
Emma Hardie protect and prime spf 30 I liked it. Would repurchase. Felt rich but not too much.
Formula sleep cream. Love this. Will purchase once used other night creams up.

@SpongeBobJudgeyPants thanks for collecting things for the women's refuge. I have sent you a collection of my stash & quite a few make-up bags.

Shortkiwi · 23/10/2022 22:22

Just finished using a pot of Bobbi Brown vitamin enriched face base. Loved it as a primer for foundation. Nice smell and texture. Have repurchased!

PomRuns · 25/10/2022 08:40

Throwing away these 2 items as one has caused a rash on my shoulder/neck.

Rituals purifying mud. I don’t know what possessed me to but this anyway. Appeared to have no use apart from making a mess of the shower abs it smelt bad.

Hairgain mask. This was in a GWP I think. I can’t imagine 30 mls will do anything and I don’t want to risk ongoing itchiness.

Quick empties update:

108) Coconut body butter - this came in an M&S calendar about 3 years ago Blush. I wouldn't normally choose a coconut scented product but I quite liked this. Perhaps I should be giving coconut more of a chance!

109) Sunday Riley Good Genes - another one! One more of these left in stash. Doesn't do much for me as far as I can tell.

110) L'Oréal Elvive Dream Lengths Shampoo - I bought a multi pack of these over two years ago! Think that this is the last shampoo. One conditioner still on the go.

Total for the year 110/125

@PomRuns - you seem to be doing pretty well this month too!

NowWhatUsernameShallIHave · 27/10/2022 02:55

@Metabigot

try the DHC oil

I think you can get it from Superdrug

Experiment627 · 27/10/2022 07:39

I have an empty:

  • Superdrug Me+ niacinamide body gel: loved this! Really lightweight body cream. Also you can add some drops of one of the Me+ boosters to supercharge/personalise the experience... who knows if this made any difference but I enjoyed it and this works as well as any other good body lotion I have tried. No lingering scent either.

CurlyFerret · 29/10/2022 15:28

Don’t know why but reporting back on my empties makes me feel like I’m powering through them 😂

Diptyque Tempo - love this fragrance and already had a back up in stock from last Christmas. Just don’t get through it as much now I’m only in the office half the week.

L’Occitane The Vert shower gel - this was a real let down, watery and barely any fragrance

Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk - had this in the stash for ages from I think a SpaceNK AC and didn’t expect to like it but I do and have RP

Le Petit Marseillais soap - love this and their shower gels. Ridiculously cheap from the Sanreva site which I picked up from a previous S&B thread. So a huge thank you to the poster who shared that gem. I’ve just placed a bulk order of shower gel and soaps as I won’t be buying premium brands when this is so nice and bargainous!

Experiment627 · 30/10/2022 16:42

@CurlyFerret do yoh fine the scent from La Petit Marseillais soap lingers? I find with the shower gel it does not.

I have some empties:

  • Murad multi-vitamin infusion oil: one of the better facial oils I have used. Nice herbally smell.
  • Murad hydro-dynamic ultimate moisture: this is nice on but has no SPF so not good for the day and not rich enough, for me, for the night
  • Imperial Leather cotton clouds & white cashmere shower cream: the scent was too sweet for me... think I saw cotton and thought it would be more of a linen smell (if that makes sense) but did not see the clouds bit 🙄

Experiment627 · 30/10/2022 16:42

Argh so many typos!!! @CurlyFerret do you find...

OP posts:
CurlyFerret · 30/10/2022 19:14

@Experiment627 not particularly long lasting after use but then I don’t find much is - or at least I can’t smell it anyway. But it’s very gentle and doesn’t irritate my skin which I’m finding quite a few do these days.

MidnightMeltdown · 01/11/2022 23:50

Empties update:

111) The Ritual of Mehr body mousse to oil - I liked the scent of this but not so much the spray can packaging. Can be fiddly to get it to come out.*

  1. Mauli Cleansing Oil - I usually prefer balms to oils, but this was a very nice oil. I used it as a first cleanse and it did a good job at removing makeup

  2. Rituals Hair Mask* - ok. Nice smell but there are better hair masks about than this. Wouldn't RP

I just depotted (with only a couple of losses) most of my eyeshadows. Have binned all of the ones that don’t get used. My edited collection is Sooooo much smaller and my DD’s received a heap of unused mini Natasha Denonas as well. I am being RUTHLESS. Have accepted that I basically have one or two lewks with a couple of variations and will stick with that and remove all makeup gurus from my YouTube feed. No more fomo for me!
