We sometimes enable but we also share out thoughts, support one another and generally share our love of beauty consumerism!

@PomRuns you must have had Liberty two years ago? I loved the Dear Polly perfume too and it's long gone, but no point buying while I'm using up others.

I actually really liked the Herbivore mark. I use it while I'm in the bath, only around once a week and my make-up applies better afterwards. But it's too £££ for how much you get, so I won't repurchase.

PomRuns · 02/10/2022 14:49

Hello @Fleecy I did 😊 my plan is to get a big bottle with the next GWP. I’ve only got a few others I’m using - Jo Loves (wouldn’t buy again, does not last- love the fragrance - pink vevetier so it’s a shame) Jo Malone - blackberry and something,, Coco Mademoiselle and Clinique Happy. They’re all about half way through. Oh just remember re I’ve an unopened molecules so it might be a while. Think molecules is a spring scent though.

sorry rambled on.

Interesting that you liked the Herbivore. I just opened a Eve Lom mask that I’m liking.

Fleecy · 02/10/2022 15:23

I also have an unopened Molecules one, from last year's F&M. Using Santal 33 at the moment (Liberty 2020) and also working through a Juliette Has A Gun discovery box. And Mon Guerlian, which I usually wear. But the Dear Polly was lovely...

OchonAgusOchonOh · 02/10/2022 15:40

Perfumes from an M&S beauty box. I liked both but the pink pepper one has the edge. I have way too much perfume to RP.

Hawthorn body oil. Love, love this and will be RPing. It's not excessively greasy, is very nourishing and smells gorgeous.

In September I finally managed to complete my second goal of 2022 (to finish 22 full-size products from any category)! ✔️ My progress is painfully slow, so I won’t be buying any beauty advent calendars 🙅‍♀️

  1. milk_shake Purifying Blend Shampoo (10 ml; £1.49) – a mint-coloured cream shampoo with a subtle scent of eucalyptus and rosemary (these essential oils are the main ingredients alongside the nettle extract). It was good at deep cleaning my hair and sculp from styling product build-up, however, it didn’t keep my hair fresh longer than two days unlike the Curl Passion Shampoo from this brand which I reviewed back in August. It’s a shame because I expected a longer lasting effect from a shampoo named 'Purifying Blend'.

  2. Revolution Haircare Plex 3 Bond Restore Treatment (100 ml; £6.95) – the famous dupe for OLAPLEX Hair Perfector No.3 Repairing Treatment. I haven’t tried either of them before, so I cannot say which one is better. TBH I wasn’t very impressed with this product – it didn’t make my hair worse but it didn’t help much either – so I’ll be curious to see if OLAPLEX 3 is any better (I have one sitting in my stash already! 👀).

  3. Formula 10.0.6 Down To The Pore (a pack of six individual pore strips; £5.25) – they expired in June 2021. They are very good but beware if you have extremely sensitive skin as they contain sodium hydroxide.

  4. Antipodes Juliet Skin-Brightening Gel Cleanser (200 ml; £2.70🔅) – it expired in April 2022. It is a thin auburn gel which smells of hibiscus. It is a little bit dehydrating so I’d only recommend it to people with oily skin. A little goes a long way, too, so you might not be able to use it up within six months after opening as it’s instructed on the bottle. It took me 11 months of almost daily use, for example.

🔅 It is not actually that cheap (the current RRP is £25) but in my reports I always indicate the price that I’ve paid for the item. I usually purchase my items during the Black Friday and Christmas sales hence why the indicated prices are usually low.

  1. Yves Rocher The Vert Eau de Toilette (0.7 ml; GWP) – this fragrance was launched in 2015, and I received this sample around that time 🤢 It was the first edition of the Un Matin au Jardin range of the YR fragrances which was not based on flowers (the main notes were citrus, green tea and precious wood), and I liked it a lot! The only let-down was that the scent would completely disappear after one hour of wear.
Inanun2 · 02/10/2022 18:02

I have just found this thread and definitely qualify as I have wardrobe shelves full of full size products I keep buying and also bags of sample sizes from various ‘bonus times’ and advent calendars that I can not resist.
I stopped myself from spending £102.00 of Temple Spa today as remembered I have so many products to use up.
I had to throw out some Elemis moisturiser recently which I had kept for so long it had gone watery and smelt bad - what a waste.

LivingDeadGirlUK · 02/10/2022 18:19

I just used my first sheet mask, soap annd glory brightening one. Not entirely sure I liked it :/

Fraaahnces · 03/10/2022 11:01

I have used up my secret weapon. Fenty Beauty Body Sauce. I use it instead of foundation and mix it with my moisturiser in the winter for a lighter colour. It comes in a gigantic bottle and O will be making do with other products until they’re gone. Then I will consider repurchasing.

Thanks for the info @Experiment627 . Have tagged you in my new thread btw.

supadupapupascupa · 03/10/2022 15:54

Face vinegar, coffee scrub and those other bits and bobs I will never used I have let go of and donated to a friend to make an advent for her daughter. EVEN the expensive perfume I really want to love but don't

That hurt Grin

MidnightMeltdown · 03/10/2022 16:27

I haven't been doing too well with empties lately.

A few unexciting ones here:

93) Perfect Image TCA Skin Peel - didn't get much peeling with this, but it was great for clearing blemishes! It really drys them out. When it passed its expiry date I used it up on the backs of my arms

94) Drunk Elephant Intense Hydration Serum - fine, but not something that I would bother to RP.

95) Ritual of Karma Body Scrub - this came in the advent calendar. Nice scent but I was disappointed that there was no body moisturiser to go with it as the scent doesn't last without

96) Ritual of Karma Shower Gel - (not pictured) this was in the same calendar. Annoying that they gave us two shower products with the same scent and no matching moisturiser. Don't think that I'd buy the Rituals calendar again.

Total for the year 96/125

Still need to use up another 29 products this year! Was hoping to get through them before I started opening advent calendars but progress has been quite slow lately!

MidnightMeltdown · 03/10/2022 16:33

I also have the Dear Polly perfume @PomRuns and @Fleecy and I really like it too! I don't wear perfume that often so have been using it sparingly!

Experiment627 · 03/10/2022 18:58

You are on fire @CherryMargo! Well done!!

Welcome @Inanun2!!!

@LivingDeadGirlUK did that mask smell quite nice? I think I used it and liked it - mainly cos of the smell... watermelon or grapefruit or something...

@SpongeBobJudgeyPants will search for tag... but given lacking IT skills may beg you to put thread link here...

I used to create lists of products I wanted to use up but my YT channel has kind of meant I am giving away opened stuff that I need to move on to (my SIL is getting so much stuff!)... that said I have a load of concealers and foundations that need using up so I think I will focus on those and chuck any I do not like. Life is just too short and I am running out of space

A few more empties!

97) Dr Dennis Gross Dew It Right Eye Gel - nice light eye cream but I didn't like the packaging. The pump gives you about 3 times the amount that you actually need so it didn't last long at all. Not good for such a pricey eye cream!

98) Votary Super Seed Serum - nice and gentle but I didn't notice anything miraculous. It's more like a light cream than a serum. Would probably be good for someone with sensitive skin.

99) Origins Frothy Face Wash - I liked this. I prefer foam and balm cleansers to oils. It's a tad drying, so I wouldn't use it in the depths of winter, but it's fine for most of the year.

Total for the year: 99/125

Getting closer!

@supadupapupascupa I need to re home that face vinegar too. I sorted out a few treats for a neighbour - I know she probably doesn’t spend on herself. I think she’s find the concept of vinegar barmy though. was the expensive perfume ale Labo ? I really can’t get on with any of those.

You are doing well @MidnightMeltdown You can buy the Dear Polly in 20ml size - still expensive though of course.

@CherryMargo also doing really well 😊

3 more from me so yell reset to 140.

Amika nourishing mask. Loved it. Hair felt swishy.

molton brown ylang ylang - lovely fragrance

and the marmite
bum bum cream I’d be happy to see again in an AC or GWP.

120/140
samples 15 (used 3x l’occitane almond).

supadupapupascupa · 05/10/2022 12:23

@PomRuns the perfume was that basil one. Love the idea of it but nah not for me

PomRuns · 05/10/2022 12:30

Gosh sorry re all typos.
I mean le Labo of course.

Also no idea why my pic is so big !

@supadupapupascupa I can't remember a basil one - maybe I already passed it on !

MidnightMeltdown · 05/10/2022 13:43

Thank you @PomRuns 😊

One of these days I'll treat myself when there's a good GWP on

I have a few to use up first though!

Fraaahnces · 06/10/2022 06:41

I used up a fragrance I used to love, but have grown out of. It’s Carven (by Carven, duh…) It’s lovely, but just not me. I have two more bottles. I’m going to dedicate them as “work” fragrances.

Experiment627 · 06/10/2022 11:25

How is your new job going @Fraaahnces?

clary · 06/10/2022 13:42

I have an empty – the gorgeous Lilas perfume from last year’s F&M AC – I was so surprised to utterly love this. This was an ebay RP and I have bought two more. The full size 100ml bottle (which would last me about a year!) is £295 :O
If anyone has one they haven’t used I will gladly swap for – well, more or less anything tbh.

I dropped my new bottle on the loo floor at work today and swore loudly – luckily the tiles just chipped a bit off the base rather than shattering the whole thing. Phew.
