Not sure what thread number we are up to here but ALL ABOARD if you get JOY from buying and trying beauty products!!!

We sometimes enable but we also share out thoughts, support one another and generally share our love of beauty consumerism!

Count me in @SpongeBobJudgeyPants

😊

Experiment627 · 27/09/2022 21:13

I have an empty to report:

  • Garnier micellar cleansing water 125ml pink: must confess that this was neatly empty when I "found" it... this works just fine

Experiment627 · 27/09/2022 13:19

@PomRuns which one are you using? I much prefer the Superdrug Naturally Radiant one to the Liz Earle; I really rate the Aldi Lacura pineapple one too which I currently have on the go.

~I may have boight 4 Diadermine products yesterday~

I may NOT actually but an advent this year 😱😱😱😱

The one in the green tube. I really liked it first time but not as much at the moment, possibly because I was using Elemis balm prior.
I’ll look out for your other suggestion 😊

Fraaahnces · 28/09/2022 08:39

@PomRuns - I ALWAYS use a cleanser after oil. The oil breaks up the makeup, sunscreen and softens sebum. Cleanser cleans it all off. That’s how I was taught to clean my face by the most beautiful Japanese woman I worked with a billion years ago. She was in her late 50’s and could have easily passed for a young 30. She said it wasn’t just genes. Meanwhile, I used to use the superficialist vitamin c cleansing oil when I was living in the Netherlands. I bought it every time I went to the Uk. Is that still around? I rate that one too.

Experiment627 · 28/09/2022 09:17

@Fraaahnces just reading that triggered a feeling of bliss in my body as I remembered the Japanese facial I had a few weeks ago... really must do that again!

@Experiment627 - sounds amazing! Let me know how it goes!!!

Experiment627 · 28/09/2022 12:10

The therapist used this brush thing on my face - was so soothing. Whilst I had a mask on she massaged my feet - which I am not a fan of as so ticklish but she was firm and it felt so good on my poor tootsies which are afflicted by plantar fasciitis 😢

Thanks @Experiment627 and @PomRuns . I have added you both to the tagging list. I daren't start a Fred until October.... Interesting that it helped your plantar symptoms Experiment, I get this every now and then. Can you let me/us know if the effects last for a good time?

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 28/09/2022 19:28

In the spirit of the thread, I have opened a new mascara, only to find it is dried up. I've had it in my stash a while, and had it passed to me buy Beauty Hoarder auntie, so who knows how long it has been around. Discovered recently that Boots give you points for recycling stuff like mascaras, that can't be recycled in 'normal' recycling, so will consider dropping them off with other qualifying stuff when I'm in town. More points to spend on goodies! In theory I save points for high end body lotions. Just recently found that my Coco perfume had gone off. Annoying as I was saving it for best. Some Jo Malone Pom Noir has now been relegated to air freshener for the same reason. This has really encouraged me not to have as many fragrances on the go at once. I only have one body to wear them on despite it being a bit on the big side Grin

woodhill · 28/09/2022 19:29

I found the Boots recycling a really good idea

I've succumbed to the M&S beauty box which looks fab

tinx · 28/09/2022 19:37

I have a real addiction I’m a skin care and makeup junkie but I only buy what I will use and use up every thing

my current favourites
skincare : MUTHA no 1 serum and Sunday Riley CEO rich hydration cream has really brightened my dull tired face

make up: Chanel healthy glow bronzing cream
and the Mars radiant creamy concealer a must for a quick fix on the school runs so I don’t look like a dead zombie

SPF: thank you farmer spf 50 light essence

Metabigot · 28/09/2022 20:09

I've bought the clinique advent calendar at £135 with 10% off and a bunch of freebies too.

I won't wait til advent, I'll sell the bits I won't use on ebay to hopefully get most of my money back and keep a few I like.

Looking forward to the High impact mascara and the superprimer.

Love the advent calendar season as I use this method to get stuff for myself at vastly reduced prices. The better known brands usually sell on ebay fairly well.

Experiment627 · 28/09/2022 20:35

@SpongeBobJudgeyPants I hate the plantar fasciitis- I had it years ago but it went away for a while and then bang whilst on holiday In Chicago in May, where I walked a lot, it flared up again 😭 I think mine is connected to the weakness I have in my calf muscles. I have found that doing yoga specifically for this really helps - so for the feet & also for plantar fasciitis. I also do a legs up the wall sequence which seems to be helping. I often do Yoga with Joelle on YouTube - she does a lot of short but targeted sequences.

Hi, I have been lurking and finally have some empties. I have a problem with bath products and skin care mainly although I probably have more makeup stashed away than I think - I blame it being the only female the house

I have finished:
Molton Brown rose bath oil - don’t normally like rose but this was lovely - not sure if it’s worth the price .

gallinee face vinegar - from an advent not a fan really did smell like vinegar.

dr organic gel moisturiser - was quite sticky and took a while to sink in but worked well as long as I wasn’t going anywhere.

Fragrance society hand cream - would rp as good size to carry around and worked well.

PomRuns · 29/09/2022 21:36

@Fraaahnces ah that makes sense, thank you. Yes that oil is still around and is the one I am using, smells lovely too.

Experiment627 · 01/10/2022 17:43

Welcome @loz12345 !!!

Right so I have some empties to report but I may have bought a fair few Diadermine products

  • Ecran repel & care aftersun and mosquito repellant: love the smell of this; not sure how effective it actually is
  • Eucerin acute lip balm: HG for me; perfect for handbag
  • Elegant Touch nail polosh remover oads: excellent for travel
  • Superdrug Me+ SPF 30 + booster: liked this - good on its own or over day cream
OP posts:
Experiment627 · 01/10/2022 19:22

Another empty:

  • Boots Ingredients hyaluronic acid hand cream: a decent hand cream although wuite lightweight- I prefer something richer
OP posts:
clary · 01/10/2022 19:34

I have an empty - drunk elephant face mask (forgotten the product name but its the one with ground up chickpeas in) it was really good, felt as if it made a difference. No need to rp tho as we approach AC season.

@SpongeBobJudgeyPants count me in on that too.

PomRuns · 02/10/2022 13:35

Few more from me:

Dear Polly perfume - absolutely love this. Have another small bottle to use up, then will splash out on the large with the next GWP hopefully.

This works body butter. Loved, was very rich but not in an annoying way. Will repurchase at some point.

Ren day cream - liked, great day cream.

Herbivore prism glow facial. I don’t think this did anything at all.

L’oocitane hand cream. A firm favourite.
