Mother of groom dress

Is this print nice or is it like a pair of old ladies curtains? If it’s relevant, I’m a fairly young MoG (44) size 10-12 & 5’6 I have long dark hair & will be tanned from holiday. I was thinking hair loose with a cream padded headband.

Completely different option is the black with a black headband or hat. The bride & groom don’t mind me wearing black as they’re not traditional at all.

That green one is stunning, I have a Sp dress in a similar cut and I love it, the neckline is very flattering

Anystarinthesky · 31/07/2022 17:19

I love the green dress! Far and away the best choice.

boatahoy · 31/07/2022 19:34

The green dress is lovely OP!

Offredismysister · 02/08/2022 20:00

The Green has arrived. I can’t do it up at the back, so would need to size up. I’m not sure if the split is too high & if it’s worth £350.
Meh

I think size up and it'll be fab! You look gorgeous in it

SalviaOfficinalis · 02/08/2022 20:38

I really like it. If you size up the split won’t be as wide either.

I was MoG last week - wore this

with a pair of Irregular choice shoes
got loads of compliments :)

Offredismysister · 02/08/2022 21:42

Thank you @Wallaw i like all of the red ones.
I do wonder if the puff sleeve on the green dress makes me look a bit matronly. I don’t have a bra on in that pic either, my boobs just do their own thing.

Have a look at Hope and Ivy

Oh OP go for the Marchesa cape one that @Wallaw linked to!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 02/08/2022 22:20

I like the green on you but agree that the sleeves are the worst thing about it,

MercuryOnTheRise · 02/08/2022 22:50

@Wallaw the first one and saloni are OK. I don't think one can go sleeveless, shoulders, etc, in church without becoming eligible for a flesh tax and risking the vicar and the rector snorting in the vestry. I have seen them.do that and rip it out of the guests at nice church drinks.

MercuryOnTheRise · 02/08/2022 22:51

Verger not rector. Alternative term for vicar that I was trying to avoid.

Flossatops · 03/08/2022 17:53

Definitely Rixo with your budget.

Debbacat6 · 03/08/2022 18:02

Neither is great tbh
Both look more On The Pull than MoG
You are a young MoG for sure but should look classy at a wedding. Both these styles are a bit 'love island'.

The split is too high and it makes you look top heavy.

Summersdreaming · 03/08/2022 18:18

Try Little Mistress too, horrible name, nice dresses 😅

Northbritt · 03/08/2022 18:27

I love the first one. Really pretty. Hairband idea sounds great. Mother of the groom outfits can often be a bit conventional and this dress definitely isn't. Agreed re checking the split height though...

walkingback · 03/08/2022 18:39

Have you looked at a company called BombshellHQ ?

nopuppiesallowed · 03/08/2022 18:40

You are very young for mother of the groom floral dress. Me? I'd wear the black with a jacket over and take it off for the evening disco....

HB8 · 03/08/2022 19:05

Try LK Bennett for your budget they did have some great choices. 1st one is lovely anyway

stacyvaron · 03/08/2022 19:11

The first one is lovely since it's a casual wedding. The black isn't quite right - to me, it's more of a cocktail dress, and looks too fleshy.
