I accidentally wore double denim, then because I was rushing, I considered it and went "Nah, CBA". Yes, I am old enough to know better. No, still not bothered. There may be a special circle of Hell reserved for me (7.5a?) but I still can't bring myself to care very much. Is this is a bonus in exchange for everything heading south, rapidly? getting to a certain age? Will I start wearing purple soon, and moaning about the price of butter? Tell me your fashion things, that you're not bothered about, please. TIA.

I wear my caterpillar boots with everything....I'm 62. When I was carted off to hospital in an ambulance last Feb I was wearing pj's....and my cat boots. I also have a blunt fringe .. my hairdresser tries to subtly infer a feathered fringe would be more suitable for 'the older lady '.... Hell no! And until they invent a darker colour I'm sticking with dressing all black !

When I am watching re runs of The Good Life, not only do I think Margot was a style icon, but I think what a good looking she is! Am I just getting old? I would be interested to know what we are meant to wear on top of black trousers, though I shan't take any notice. And I wear the big knicks and I likes them!

I too am a proud wearer of big knickers. My arse has spread with age and size of pants has grown accordingly. I never wore g-strings though, never really got the angst about vpl. I'd rather folks think I'm wearing knickers than think I'm not wearing any!

I'm 48 and quite fond of a visible bra. Not natural colours or transparent straps. If I wear a top or dress that a bra can be seen through it will be bright pink or neon lime. I grew up with Madonna as my style role model and I will be mutton dressed as lamb until I die.

I'm 49 and spent the latter part of the Prodigy gig I went to on Saturday night dancing in my sports bra and running shorts with my dress stuffed in my bag because I was so bloody hot with it on. I also wore acid yellow trainers and space buns a'la 1992, and I couldn't give a fuck 😊

I really want to know this too. The shops are heaving with every shape and style of black trousers imaginable. They must be popular. So what do 'fashionable' people wear with them? Or do they not wear them?

It seems to vary between your underwear & someone else's shirt, or 'trying out for Laurel & Hardy in your granddad's trousers'?

I wear big drawers. I feel no shame.

I reckon if I wore a thing it would be under that much strain it would snap. And the tiny little triangle of fabric would be flapping like a sail. I may as well go commando.

Anyway. Call me auld fashioned but there is a lot to be said for a proper gusset.

I read what I’m writing and despite being absolutely in my prime in the 1980s, I realise my older self hankers for the 70s.

Where pants were big and underpinnings were robust for those who were considered hefty.

And bugger my 18yr old self with her 6” stilettos.

I too wear Skechers Maireas. With the remembering foam. And relaxed fit.

Like my drawers.

I wear cropped wide leg trousers with brightly colored stripey socks and crocs most days🤦‍♀️🤣 Even I cringe at my appearance sometimes but I am only walking from car park to work and then have to change in to scrubs.

I think the fashion police have just completely given up on me🤣

My standard issue office wear is black trousers and coloured top. I would say about 75% of female colleagues wear similar. No way am I going all out with dresses/tights/ proper shoes 😮

I am not a fan of purple though. Only because I once caught sight of the local pensioners social club lining up for a Xmas Market day trip bus. Every single one of the women were in shades of purple.

That poem had got a lot to answer for.

I've taken to wearing knee length shorts with socks and sandals at home. I feel like I'm channelling a special bavarian style and whilst the postie, electrician and amazon driver who have all witnessed this outfit choice and looked at me like I've given up on life, I don't care.

(I am also wearing clothes in my top half. Its not all sandals and socks)

Tbf just shorts and sandals would be a strong look.

I often slip sandals (comfortable ones) on OVER my socks to pop outside to the bins/car.

I think it's possible that I'd now do the same at a campsite to nip to the toilet block (not been camping for a few years so not yet tested that theory...)

I've bought 4 pairs of knee high boots (half price sale, so really only 2 pair😁) so I can wear my just above knee length skirts and not have to shave my legs... It's winter here BTW

No double denim is an old rule. It's been ok since about 2010. Your on trend 😁. Dd wears denim shorts and denim jacket al the time and is v cool!
