I accidentally wore double denim, then because I was rushing, I considered it and went "Nah, CBA". Yes, I am old enough to know better. No, still not bothered. There may be a special circle of Hell reserved for me (7.5a?) but I still can't bring myself to care very much. Is this is a bonus in exchange for everything heading south, rapidly? getting to a certain age? Will I start wearing purple soon, and moaning about the price of butter? Tell me your fashion things, that you're not bothered about, please. TIA.

I wear leggings and T-shirts and that's about it day to day. I still wear my band T-shirts as well. Plus, holey old converse.

I have a pair of combat trousers from when they were fashionable before, then they went out of fashion and now they're back in again.
See this is where I get flummoxed.

I've taken to wearing knee length shorts with socks and sandals at home. I feel like I'm channelling a special bavarian style and whilst the postie, electrician and amazon driver who have all witnessed this outfit choice and looked at me like I've given up on life, I don't care.

(I am also wearing clothes in my top half. Its not all sandals and socks)

Today I have been mostly wafting about in a kaftan. It is purple. Shoot me.

I am about as far from being a Beverley or Mrs Leadbetter as you can get.

And yes, when I went out to pick up dapoop, I swapped my non skidding tote slippers for crocs. It is raining and they wipe dry.

I’m just grateful that it is no longer hot. My face in the heat goes purple. I probably looked like an aubergine with arms last week.

Well, today I'm wearing black leggings & a tunic/dress & I'm plus-sized - which according to MN is the height of frumpy but a couldn't give a flying fuck tbh - it's comfortable!

Only by my ex he mentioned it to our son like oh wow has your mom even got dressed today? Does she really go outside like that???? Ds said yeah? No one cares?

@SheldonesqueTheBstard Aw, Margo Leadbetter was super-stylish in her own way, I loved her kaftans, although I couldn't wear one myself (Penelope Keith was very tall I think and so could wear wafty things). Lol at aubergine.

I give you flip flops with socks, the toe post scrunches them up. I’m so ashamed (but not enough to remove the offending items)

I wear double denim all the time and love it! I I am too old to care whether it is a fashion faux pas or not!

I forever wear black trousers and a coloured top …. As pp said , I’ve been doing it for the office since 2002 and I literally don’t care . It’s my go to.

I haven’t painted my toenails nor had a pedicure yet am walking around merrily in my FitFlops. TBH I’m just glad that, 10 months post-covid, my toenails have finally stopped falling off and are slowly regrowing.

Last week I had to rush dress to pick someone up in an emergency. I had to walk to my car 15 feet from my front door and drive and not get out of the car until I returned home. To walk 15 feet to my door. As I started the engine I noticed my top was fairly obviously inside out. In the past I'd have probably rushed back in to turn it around, wasting valuable time. This time I thought ahh fuckit

I'm in DVT socks for six weeks following surgery. In the hot weather last week I went out wearing a knee-length summer dress with trainers and said DVT socks. I went into town like that, and to Sainsbury's. And I gave zero fucks.

I too am the proud owner of a purple kaftan. I laughed like a drain at the description of the aubergine with arms!

I really want to know this too. The shops are heaving with every shape and style of black trousers imaginable. They must be popular. So what do 'fashionable' people wear with them? Or do they not wear them?

I committed 2 or 3 faux pas in one go at a BBQ recently. Hot pink skinny jeans, denim jacket and a scarf.(It was chillier than I anticipated) I was quite happy with my outfit, even my kids didn't run away!
Lots of people were there and even some young people spoke to me without looking shocked or laughing at me well not to my face anyway

I’ve been wearing bootcut jeans for about 30 years. Not the same pair, might I add, but they’ve gone in and out of fashion several times over the years. I refuse to buy jeggings and I give no shits as to what is currently ‘in’ 🫣
