I got scent-bombed in Selfridges the other day. It was Thameen, Cullinnan Diamond.

Oh my goodness. It's AMAZING! So chypre. And it lasted so well. I could still catch a faint trace the next day. Just fabulous!!

Also, £210 for 50ml. So I think I'll ask my family to club together!

Yes, I got two for my birthday. I am going mad for advents this year. I had two holidays cancelled and I am spending some of the refunds on them.

I love skincare, so my fave this year is the cult one. Getting that for an advent advent calendar. I think the John lewis looks good.

Harvey nichols advents are good for perfumistas.

Just came on quickly to say that Perfume Parlour is back! Phew! I rang and emailed them today, and both times they said to just keep checking their website. I've been refreshing it all day and it returned this evening! 🎉

Well, I've spent the evening wrapping Christmas presents and stocking gifts 🎁 🌲❄️😃

I am alone in the house for the first time in years months so I put ghosts s4 on bbciplayer, put the ironing board up (I can't wrap on the floor as I have a bad back) so everything I've bought so dar is wrapped 👍

I can't wrap on Christmas eve anymore as the dc are older and usually awake after me! 😬

I like Advent to be peaceful and a time to relax so I try and get it all done by end of November.

Dh back tomorrow, ds1 out clubbing with friends 😬 and ds2 at pils til 9pm.

I'm planning on carrying on with my new novel tonight 📚

It's ds2s birthday weekend (14!!) So we are out and about.

Between wrapping and advent calendars I wondered if I had stumbled into last year’s thread!

SOTD NRfH. I think I am getting the cold, and feel yuck.

Sotd is Yardley Jade. Never in a million years would I have found this if it wasn't for this thread (and it's not the only one).

It's become an favourite for those days when I'm not doing much but want a spritz of something light.

Well, my weekend will be spent resolutely at home as we had to return early yesterday without even looking around and after only a five minute walk by the sea. 😭 And now I have a temperature and am shivering under a blanket.

The hotel was quite something. The lift was broken (I have mobility issues) and so were the beds. I'm not joking, the slats on one bed were snapped and TWO (!) mattresses had huge craters in them. There were lots of other little things too. By the time I sat down in the room I wanted to go home, but it was so late we had to stay the one night.

They did change the mattresses sharpish, and were very accommodating in refunding the nights we didn't stay (although I think we should have been given a complete refund.) I can't forgive not phoning about the lift though. It had been broken for two weeks (!) and they knew I had accessibility requirements as we'd booked a disabled room! Pfft.

No SOTD as I'm exhausted. Will choose something for the night in a bit.

Loving all the Christmassy talk. I was going to watch a christmas movie but remembered the Strictly launch was this evening so watched that instead. I have put my Christmassy countdown wallpaper on my phone and begun my Xmas shopping list, but haven't bought anything yet. Am excited to make a start on everything though.

I love the thought of the big grown up advent calendars, but in practice wouldn't use half the things in them. If they sold perfume only ones though, I might be tempted!

Solidarity @Judystilldreamsofhorses I feel rubbish and completely run down too, but don't know what's caused this temperature - I don't have any sniffles or sore throat. Hope you can get plenty of rest and feel better soon.

Is this another Covid jab? Are you guys in the vulnerable group? I felt so awful after the booster and then got Covid twice anyway, I don’t think I would have any more, but I have no health conditions etc.

I'm mums carer so although I'm not 50 for a couple of weeks I got a text from the nhs because of that ...

How are you all getting on with the Vanilla box? I soaked a hanky in vanillin to scent one of my drawers so I've gone a bit nose blind to it. I like the Smokey one, all are pleasant but no loves.

I must dig the vanilla box out again.

I've only worn one so far (no.1) and that was a scrubber for me.

I think I’ll skip spice month as I have £40 of credit at escentual and no ideas of what to spend it on yet. It’s one of my least favourite notes.
