This is edition 33 (!) of the long running perfumista threads.

Newbies most definitely welcome. Come and discuss your Scent Of The Day (SOTD), old favourites, new infatuations, the best dupes and scents of any price point. We are very friendly! 😊

Sotd is Cristalle EDP.
It's so green & lovely at this time of year.
I also re-tried my new tester bottle of Dioressence.
It's really not for me as it becomes too sweet & warm from the mid notes onwards. It also smells just too big & grande dame on my skin. Isn't it weird how perfumes you like just meld into your skin, but perfumes your dislike sit on top projecting wildly.
I'm loving reading about all the new perfume sampling boxes & welcome to all the newbies 💐

So my Juliette has a gun dupes arrived from Divain. I like how they send a sample along with the full bottle so if you dislike something you can return it.

I love Anyway and Romantina, detest Gentlewoman, don't mind Liquid Illusion. Metal Chypre I'd love on a man, but not on me.

I loved Anyway so much I went on Notino and bought a full bottle, forgetting that I had 100ml of the dupe. Gah! Menopausal brain.

Having a Miller Harris day here. Secret Gardenia earlier and then Scherzo this evening.

Kind of wish I’d gone for By the Fireplace this evening instead though - feeling the urge now the nights are noticeably drawing in.

I'm still undecided on this one, last time it annoyed me after a while but today it's sitting nicely and projecting classy, clean vibes. A good wear for the office.

SOTD JM English Pear & Freesia. SOTE Mon Guerlain. This is my second Mon Guerlain sample, still trying to work out whether I really like it or not.

SOTE - Both Sides of Clouds - 4160 Tuesdays

Got my samples through and this was my first pick - I LOVE it. It's similar to La Pausa from Chanel Les Exclusivs which I adore but have refused to buy as it lasts about 10 minutes on me.
It's talc-y and sweet but with a petrichor note that makes it utterly addictive. I'm sold already.

When is the 4160 3 for 2 sale that someone mentioned?

Anyone who loves O de Lancôme as much as me might be interested to know I contacted them to see if it had really been discontinued, and they answered no! It's out of stock ( has been for ages) but will be available again soon

SOTD was PP Le Labo Labdanum 18. A lot of reviews said it was like talcum powder, but I got a lovely gothic resin from it. Sadly it has brought my wrists up in a rash, so I will have to put it to the back of the shelf.

SOTE is Hypnotic Poison. I get a really fresh and almost minty top note from it and then the dry down reminds me of the comforting smell of my mother's perfume cupboard. I can see this being an early autumn favourite.

Usually the weekend before black Friday I think...

You can even choose the most expensive one as the freebie!

I've never had the spare cash but you could buy - for example - 2 x 100mls @ £95 and 1 x 100mls at £185 for free :)

I've only ever bought the 15mls (such handy size!) 30mls and 50mls. I think the 100mls bottles would be huge!

A few hours in and it's become quite vanilla-y but in a way I like. Will work through the other samples this week but think there'll definitely be another couple I'd want to get larger sizes of.

I love that le labo but haven't managed to justify a bottle yet!

Almost out of J'adore infinissime and it's my favourite winter perfume, but it's so expensive now! Anything out there that's similar but not as pricey?
Been wearing glossier you and a florally Elizabeth Arden one I got cheap in duty free over the summer, but it's time for something cosier

SOTD - The Sexiest Scent on the Planet. Ever - 4160 Tuesdays

I like it, but it's sweeter than I expected. Not sure it gives me sexy vibes.

Sotd Celine Black Tie. Second day of a new job so trying to feel pulled together and professional!

I don't get sexy vibes from it either (but I do love it!)

Comforting is definitely more accurate. I like it more as it's settled, I find I keep sniffing myself which is obviously a good sign. I can see this lot of samples having an expensive outcome.

Sotd is L' Occitane Lavender EDC sprayed on my clothes & Malle's Une Rose on my skin. This is my all-time favourite combination for this time of year.

Hope everyone is OK. Will catch up on the thread properly later. Have been feeling out of sorts these past few days, and, unusually for me, just stuck to one fragrance - Shalimar. It's very soothing.

Am still not really feeling much better, but have a hospital appointment so SOTD is Mitsouko, for warmth and comfort.
