This is edition 33 (!) of the long running perfumista threads.

I'm tempted by the blind trial boxes but worry I'll not like most of them and it'll end up being a waste. Same with the Bloom curated boxes. Although the idea of sampling perfumes free from the influence of packaging/branding/names and preconceptions and centred on particular notes does interest me.

I've bought the last three blind trial boxes. Vetiver was ok but had more mens fragrances. My favourite by a mile was the much too expensive Histoires de Parfums 1899 which I'd never have tried just based on the notes. The bergamot box was good for the hot weather but I go a bit nose blind to citrus scents so nothing full bottle worthy. This almond box on the other hand... I love gourmand fragrances so there's only one I don't really like. You get the price of the box credited to your account to spend later so I have a good excuse to finally use them on a new bottle.

SOTD Chanel No 22. I’ve fallen in love with this fragrance just as I’ve emptied the sample 😢 There’s no way I can buy the full size in the near future. I have several Chanel perfumes already and can’t justify the cost of another one right now. Considering going into the store and begging for another sample!

We had rain today! I was by the window happily watching its soft and gentle descent. And the petrichor afterwards! Its still 800° indoors though.

SOTD is Aramis Devin, because it smells like damp earth, and snapped lush green leaves, and hyacinths. I was saving it for the first rains after this long drought.

It’s properly cold here, you all should move. Tomorrow’s forecast is 14 degrees. I’m in cashmere socks and a huge sweatshirt now!

SOTD Diptyque Geranium Odorata.

I definitely need to move @Judystilldreamsofhorses because that sounds absolutely divine. I'm not even joking - that's my perfect sort of weather. I want to put my jumper on too! 😂

SOTD was Apotheose de Rose by Monotheme. A beautiful fruity floral fragrance : pear and rose being the first hit. Unfortunately M and S have stopped selling it so I will have to buy direct from Monotheme which will be more expensive due to p and p

We had a monsoon for about 45 minutes this afternoon and nothing since then. It's cooled down considerably but our bedroom is holding the heat. SOTD was sample B from the Escentual almond box. It has a bit of an anise/liquorice opening which made me wonder if it's Histoires de Parfums 1725 (from googling almond and liquorice). Apparently it's a mens fragrance but I really liked the last HDP sample they put in a box and that was supposed to be for men too so seems a decent guess🤷🏻‍♀️

SOTN is Van Cleef & Arpels Neroli Amara because I feel like being fancy and wearing perfume to bed.

So it's finally cooled down here in the west of Ireland, after thunderstorms and torrential rain. I've been mainly wearing my faves from the Replica range during the hot weather as they are light and refreshing, plus Pear Inc sometimes as it's become a real favourite.

I'm also looking forward to autumn and lots of autumnal scents.

I am looking forwards to being more in the autumn mood for fragonard santal cardamome (thanks M&S not minding me testing it a few times while I was deciding I liked it!).

50 full bottles?? Oh how I wish. I have 5 full bottles, 4 travel size and 25-30 samples. I get indecisive enough with that lot. I suspect I'll be adding to the collection after the reveals from the almond and vanilla themed trial boxes from Escentual.

I loooove the smell of palo santo. My candle treats are always 3 Diptyque candles after the clocks go back. They make the winter more bearable. I usually go for old favourites but last year I tried Narguile and it was beautiful. If I could find a perfume that smelled the same I'd drown myself in it. I think I'll pick 2 new ones each year from now on.
