I have had long hair for years and years. I've just booked a hair appointment for the first time in about three years and I fancy something different.

I am really fat. Really really overweight. So I feel like short hair makes my face look rounder/fatter BUT with my long thin hair I also feel like I look like a bit of a slob as well. My hair is thin and the ends are terrible. I really wish I could go into a hairdressers and tell them to do what they want - something that will make me look amazing but they all stare blankly and say 'it's up to you'. So I get two inches off and go about my day. I want something different this time!

I've just been trying dresses on so my daughter took a pic of me - I don't generally have any pics of me so this is probably the best I can do.

Looks so much nicer. Next time if your feeling brave add more layers in as it will make it look thin let and a side parting with a side fringe will work for you. Colour wise some lowlights mixed in there will work lovely

I agree with some colour maybe, but don’t get layers put in! If you wanted you could get some graduation round the face to blend the fringe in a bit , but I would definitely avoid all over layers.

That cut in the pic is amazing (and of course she is incredibly beautiful) but I can't imagine the average person with thin straight hair (ie me 😂) could ever achieve that result. Firstly I don't think to her hair is at all thin, or at least if it is she has loads of it. And I could never get my hair to wave like that for more than 10 minutes.

I was going to say have a fringe and have it cut shorter, but I see you have done so already … and it looks fabulous.
So much more stylish and it really suits you.

As a side note that dress looks fab it's lovely on you

you look lovely in that dress...you are not what I would call fat, more pleasantly plump. Maybe keep a bit of the length, but have some layers with a side swept fringe. I think you will look gorgeous.

My hair is fine & im crap with gadgets. Love the babyliss big hair though & birthday coming up so this could be fun. I barely have waves & tried a few curly girl things that haven't been great & this occasionally would be good!

Yes, use it twice a week! It's great, takes about 20 minutes to do my full extensioned head - if you've fine hair like I do under my mane it's really quick

I then just ruffle my fingers gently through after - it's a stupidly easy gadget, use small sections
