Then what do you wear? Or is shivering the height of cool?!

Fleeces?(runs away from S&B...)Grin

TheMarzipanDildo · 01/07/2022 16:16

I don’t think they are out, just depends on the type of cardigan.

Mercurial123 · 01/07/2022 16:28

Who is saying this? Some random person on Mumsnet? Mine are expensive and I still love them. Wear what you like.

SirChenjins · 01/07/2022 16:29

Depends on how you wear them and whether you give a fuck really.

Acunningruse · 01/07/2022 16:34

Shackets, denim jacket, leather jacket, hoodie, denim shirt worn open, linen shirt worn open.

Not suggesting any of these are any 'cooler' than a cardigan, just that there are many alternatives.

Inthesameboatatmo · 01/07/2022 16:35

Cardigans are out 😱😱😱. I guess I'm frumpy then 😳.

SinisterBumFacedCat · 01/07/2022 16:37

I don’t give a fuck. Cardigans are great. There is tellingly no equivalent male term for “frumpy”.

GatherlyGal · 01/07/2022 16:37

No one is taking away my cardigans.

ArabeI · 01/07/2022 16:38

Who said that!

I love cardigans, they're a staple part of my wardrobe and I have loads of them, different styles and colours. I couldn't care less if someone has deemed them outdated.

mac1974 · 01/07/2022 16:42

Oops. I just purchased 2 cardigans today 🙈

RockingMyFiftiesNot · 01/07/2022 16:57

I love cardigans too, they come in so many different styles they can't all be dismissed as out, dated or frumpy.
Wear what you feel happy in I say.

hatchyu · 01/07/2022 17:18

cardigans are in

TheLassWiADelicateAir · 01/07/2022 17:19

You must post that on the other thread- so many posters there authoritatively proclaiming cardigans are passé

MrsPear · 01/07/2022 17:20

Oh you are my type. Seriously I nodded to most of that thread but cardigans stopped me. There are so many different styles o just couldn’t understand how one type of clothing is just wiped. Jumpers just don’t always work imho. Jackets are heavy. Hoodies are what my 12 year son wears.

Many of the alternatives like 'shackets' or open shirts just tend to look a bit of mess if you're not tall, I think.

TheFormidableMrsC · 01/07/2022 17:25

I wear cardigans. I couldn't given a shit what people think. I wear really nice clothes and if I want to wear a cardi, I will.

NoddingTulip · 01/07/2022 17:28

I love cardigans, wear them a lot in the summer in various different colours. Have some chunky ones for winter.

You'd have to prise them from my cold, dead hands before I give them up. Not bothered if they're in or out of fashion. I wear what I do because I'm comfortable and really don't give a damn what others think.

DeadButDelicious · 01/07/2022 17:29

I love cardigans. Of the huge and black variety. Can't beat a nice cardi! I also wear leggings under dresses so clearly I have no idea... or I'm so far out I'm in? 😂

All of this! I didn’t get past the first page of that other thread, having seen how roundly condemned dresses with leggings were. I don’t care, I may be a frump, but at least I’m comfy Grin

TheMidnightBell · 01/07/2022 17:36

You do realise, right, that fashion journalists saying that certain types of clothing are 'in' or 'out' is just a con to get you to buy more clothes to support the fashion industry, without whom they wouldn't have a job? It's all made up nonsense to make you buy more things. Just ignore it all & wear what you like.

velvetvixen · 01/07/2022 17:43

Ooooh that article is pure cardi porn! some great styles and colours!

Donna1001 · 01/07/2022 17:51

I’ve got a lovely chunky cardigan that I wear all the time. If I ever do take it off, chances are either my 11 or my 14 year old daughter will be wearing it.

in fact, I’ve just been told by my 14 year old’s friend that it’s a very nice cardigan, said without a hint of sarcasm!

who cares what you’re wearing in the comfort of your own home anyway?

ListerLess · 01/07/2022 17:54

Well my mum is currently knitting me one, we're frumpy, outdated and proud here 😁

BeyondMyWits · 01/07/2022 17:57

Cardies are both comfortable and practical... ill be keeping mine.
