On the Norwegian RF front, I spent a chunk of time in Northern Norway last autumn. I knew they often holidayed on the royal yacht up there, fabulous scenery, hiking, midnight sun etc. I'd heard the story of my friend's daughter being invited onto the royal yacht many many years ago in a group of children.
We were chatting one day and I said I thought Kong Harald seemed like a good man. My friend said, oh yes and the Queen, the children are very nice too, I was this close to them in the church. Me: what, not the church here in Borg??!! Friend: yes, and the other royals from Europe too. Me: So was Queen Margrethe there??! Friend: yes, and Fredrik and the other one. Me: Mary? Friend: no no before her ... Joachim, and Victoria, she's so beautiful, and Carl Philip, Madeleine... and the Spanish ones.
She couldn't remember why they were there so I did a bit of googling that evening and came up with the links below. I showed her the next day and she said yes that was it, pointing out some locals in the pictures. She recalled she sat behind Filipe in the church.
So it looks like there were 5 monarchs plus loads of their successors there, it's a really off the beaten track sort of place! But maybe not so remote as I thought, she then said that last summer her eldest daughter was in the very small local shop and in walked CP Haakon and family. "She was very surprised." I expect they had run out of chocolate, that's why I go there 🙂
