Really loved Kate’s insta reel pink gingham Brora blouse. Loved the colour & shape and fit. Wondering what I would look like in a size 18 version, covered in icing sugar and mess.

I wonder why the kids change clothes halfway through the reel? If they got covered in flour then all the better we see it!

NiqueNique · 05/06/2022 20:51

@AmberLynn1536 Ah sorry didn’t mean to sound like I was lecturing you personally or that I had any issue with your statement - Just a general comment! I’ve not seen any other threads or comments as I try to stay well clear of the batshittery so it was just a reaction to the general context. It really irks me that women aren’t allowed to just look their age. She’s very slim so is likely going to look a little more visibly older than someone her age with a rounder face. So what! Honestly I just don’t see why people have to get so het up about it.

YorkshireIndie · 05/06/2022 20:52

I think they did the cupcakes over two days or whatnot. Or the clothes got so mucky they needed changing

AmberLynn1536 · 05/06/2022 21:06

No problem at all! @NiqueNique I probably should stay away from the batshit threads myself and stick to this one!

Serenster · 05/06/2022 21:47

I would not have been Kate today for all the tea in China, trying to calmly and patiently get an over-excited four year old to behave in front of the the world’s cameras! I loved her Victoria Beckham dress, though.

For the person on the last thread who said we might get some photos of the Berleburg wedding, it seems to be fairly probate so far? A shame as the guests wore tiaras! Here is the bride and groom, and a long shot of Mary and Frederik - she’s re-wearing a lovely Erdem dress. She also at some point wore the same lovely Zimmerman dress that Zara wore today at the pageant.

Private, not probate! A very amusing autocorrect given the court cases over the will that led to it 😂

👑 👑 👑 👑 👑 👑 👑

@Maireas Lovely new thread!

Things I've especially liked this Jubilee weekend include ....
Kate's hat with the huge flowers at St. Paul's
Anne's shot silk ensemble at St. Paul's and that she wore the right hat with it! Wink
Theresa May's suit at St. Paul's
How nice Camilla looked at each event, understated elegance throughout
Charles sitting with Louis on his knee, I think Charles missed out on that type of interaction in his own childhood.
Paddington juggling with the teapot, and finally finding out what Her Maj keeps in her handbag!

gluenotsoup · 05/06/2022 21:54

There have been so many great outfits, I have loved all the Jubilee events, and have been busy just enjoying it and taking it all in! Stand out style for me has to be Kate and Zara, they have both looked really good all through. I have had a little tear in my eyes at times, I loved the golden carriage too. It was touching to see the interactions with the children and Charles and HM, like @Maireas , my children lost out on the grandparent front hugely too.
I saw this photo today, it made me laugh😊. Looks like Zara is the cool, fun one with the kids 😂

paradyning · 05/06/2022 22:11

Beautiful bride her bouquet is so simple but perfect.

I can't stop staring at the black ball in the centre of HM's hat. Wtaf is it. If it is a massive hat pin then fair enough. But otherwise ??? Why would you do that.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 05/06/2022 22:12

Thank you for the new thread @Maireas

I love the dark pink/red dress that Kate wore on the balcony today.

MotherofPearl · 05/06/2022 22:26

Thanks for the lovely new thread Maireas.

I really felt for Kate today, trying to manage Louis in that situation. He reminds me of my DD, who recently turned 6 and is similarly spirited. I struggle to keep patient so can only marvel at her restraint. I think she and William seem to be doing a brilliant job with their children.

I think, as someone mentioned upthread, Bea took a wrong turn with her footwear today. I'm not keen on Eug's boots with that dress either.

AdaColeman · 05/06/2022 22:29

The diamond bow brooch that Her Maj wore with her green ensemble for her Balcony appearance today, is one of a set of three that Queen Victoria commissioned from Garrard the Court Jeweller in 1858.
Later, in 1901, Victoria designated the brooches as 'heirlooms of the crown' to ensure that they passed directly from monarch to monarch, to be worn by queens regnant or consort.

Alexandra and Mary often used to wear all three brooches together, adding diamond or pearl drops to them for extra impact. But Her Maj wears one of them at a time, normally at significant national events such as the funeral of Princess Diana.

KillingMeDeftly · 05/06/2022 22:41

The top half of Carina's dress is reminiscent of Kate's wedding dress. NMR has a few more shots but maybe they've cut a deal with a Danish equivalent of Hello and the official photos will appear in there?

I like Mary's Erdem but Marie is wearing some pink monstrosity that, coupled with the tiara, screams Miss Teen USA 1991! The dress on the lady next to Benedikte looks interesting- I'd like to see the front of it.

And I don't care for the pale blue dress on one of the guests (no idea who she is, sorry!) but are those aquamarines on her tiara?

BornBlonde · 05/06/2022 22:45

Checking in

Eaumyword · 05/06/2022 22:55

Oh no - not loving the York sisters' footwear there!
Her maj in the bright green was just lovely to see.

Maireas · 05/06/2022 23:12

The bride looks very pretty - I can see the similarity to Kate's dress. Princess Marie in the bubblegum pink? I think not. The others look fine, but it's tricky to see at that distance.

MotherofPearl · 05/06/2022 23:35

I love your jewellery knowledge Ada; that's fascinating about the brooches. Of course, Queen Mary would wear all three and add pearl or diamond drops - as we've seen from photos posted on previous threads, she really had a 'more is more' approach to jewellery! Grin

StartupRepair · 06/06/2022 00:38

That Danish wedding must have been very heartfelt. It has taken then decades to get to this point.

LadyEloise1 · 06/06/2022 09:25

What a fantastic parade. Such a spectacle . 👏🏻
Loved the Louis shenanigans Smile
Was the black dot on the Queen's hat a hat pin ?
It looked odd on the lovely green outfit.
I agree re the York sisters footwear @Eaumyword - what were they thinking ?

gluenotsoup · 06/06/2022 10:01

I also don’t like the footwear! I get that you need comfy shoes on a long day, but just don’t like them, they don’t do anything to add to the otherwise nice dresses.
What is the black thing on HM’s hat?? I thought a microphone at first, but can’t see why.
The brides dress is lovely, very elegant, and I do love the Erdem dress, beautiful.

Has she been rummaging through Camilla's shoe cupboard?

eggandonion · 06/06/2022 10:19

Im not in the uk, but saw some of the Wales soccer yesterday. It was very wet indeed. Maybe the Yorkies had their lovely shoes in the car, but wore appropriate footwear on wet grass?
I check these threads but don't post much, my lovely elderly neighbour died 5 years ago. She used to sit in the sun reading the Daily Express. The chat here reminds me of the discussions we used to have about the royals!
It must be anticlimax central in the family today.

NiqueNique · 06/06/2022 10:25

@Serenster Yes it was quite a small, private wedding. Mary was chief Bridesmaid/Maid of Honour (not sure what the direct translation would be - the Danish term is Bridesmaid of Honour) and Fred was Best Man. I think they were present at both wedding ceremonies - firstly the official wedding with I think about 30 guests, and then the church wedding the next day with something like 80 guests, so that’s why Mary wore two outfits.

She’s now titled Carina, princess of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg, and will be called Princess Carina in daily life.

@StartupRepair yes I read a comment by Carina in a recent interview saying it’s incredibly important to her now, on an emotional level, to finally make the castle their home together and put their personal touch on it with decor and furnishings because of course they’ve never been allowed to do anything much to it as they had to live as tenants of sort until the inheritance palaver was sorted out. I imagine they’re both very relieved that they can finally make concrete plans in life!

@paradyning yes I wondered what the hell that was and as @LadyEloise1 says my conclusion was it must be a hat pin*...but what a very clumsy decision to put it there! The placement completely ruined the hat embellishment design and just looked very odd indeed.

*I expect that somewhere on the internet there are people developing complex theories about how it was an energy beacon to keep the animatronic queen going, or maybe some kind of communication device for aliens/reptiles/other such tosh.

@LadyEloise1 I loved his antics too! He’s four, he’s not going to be capable of behaving in the same way as the older children. He’s had a very busy few days with lots of new experiences and was probably quite hyped up and exhausted. I don’t mind a spirited child, as long as they’re not allowed to become utter brats. I thought Mike Tindall doing the ‘I’m watching you’ was hilarious and Kate looked like she appreciated the help from everyone. Grin

LadyEloise1 · 06/06/2022 10:31

Hi @eggandonion I recognise you from Craicnet Smile

susiebluebell · 06/06/2022 10:31

Someone on another thread said they thought the kids would need the day off school today, and I'm sure the adults feel the same!

Perhaps it's because there's been such a carousel of events, but I can't think of a single outfit that was truly wrong. They've done really well on the choices this time 😊
