Meghan's coat-dress

I saw a clip of the royals arriving at St Pauls yesterday and really liked Meghans coat dress. I was curious about this type of garment though - would she be wearing a dress underneath or did the coat remain on and fully buttoned all day?

No, it would need to be altered to fit her exactly. She's not a 5'10" model who is a sample size 0 and every body is a slightly different size and shape. For something to fit perfectly for a public occasion it would need alteration

Depends what you mean by "altered". It's not changed after she'd bought it, it's fitted and made for her. Is that what you mean by "altered", in which case I apologise.

It didn't fit well @ChardonnaysBeastlyCat ergo, it needed to be altered, or she is wearing something different underneath it than what she was wearing when it was fitted to her. She'll have had two or three fittings for each of her outfits to make sure they are perfect.

Meghan looked stunning I thought. Beautiful woman.

It’s quite well publicised that they’re making the documentary for Netflix, and rumours the crew have accompanied them to London.

Surely it’s not a surprise if she’s wearing a mic? Not like a spy or anything crazy from the Meghan subreddit, just as a normal part of filming. I can imagine them recording something in the car on the way to the event given how significant it is.

Not to say it is a mic- the box could just be a funny way the fabric has folded, or a pack of Benson and Hedges.

it needed to be altered no , it’s not off the rack , it’s couture , meaning it’s designed and made to measure specifically for you and no one else. Look at Beatrice Borromeo who is another Royal who wears loads of Dior , everything fits her perfectly, nothing looks ill fitting on her.

Lots of photos over Twitter too, saying she had a microphone under her coat collar.

No, I think it was just tight and she kept fidgeting with the collar.

Thought Meghan's gloves (wearing them when leaving ) really finished the outfit .And the angle of the hat nicely balanced the square lines of the coat .Loved the collar .

So many female guests looked ungainly coming down those steps .They must be steep ? Some partners were helpful eg Harry were helpful. Others eg Charles were not .

And why were those strangely attired attendants positioned halfway down the steps but with not enough space for people to continue their natural route but made to veer round them ? Was it the equivalent of the yellow supermarket cone advertising a wet floor haard ?

You would think the OW interview and that awful book would be too, but apparently not.

What would be the point of recording it though? It’s all televised! I imagine they want to record private conversations. Public events aren’t going to be of much interest.
