Upper Blepheroplasty

I've made a decision, it will be this year. Can anyone recommend a surgeon for the upper bleph that they have personally used?
If you can provide pictures that would be so great. Thanks in advance!

Sorry, can't recommend a surgeon, but my mum had this done about 10yrs ago. The result was subtle, but made her look more awake and her eyes popped more. Most people couldn't tell what had changed, but thought she looked younger. Hopeful bump for you anyways.

itwasntmetho · 26/05/2022 23:45

Thank you, some of the pics I've seen are very lovely. I've spent over a year thinking about it, I thought once I made a decision it would be easy.
Now I'm so confused, I don't know how to check out a surgeon, which review sites can be trusted (ie the clinic can't delete unfavourable reviews). I don't know if there is such a thing as too cheap to be good.

There was a recent thread about this with photos and recommendations. Try the advanced search form.

@itwasntmetho -
I can recommend my surgeon he is brilliant plus you can see examples of his work online.

Amir Nakhdjevani at Bella Vou clinic in Tunbridge Wells.

itwasntmetho · 29/05/2022 10:01

Thanks wags, I did look at Bella Vou actually, but I've confused myself looking at so many and possibly made it into a more complicated process. I'll revisit that site now.

What area are you from as I'd imagine that makes a difference ?
I'm following this post as would like the same, I'm in the North West.
Good luck .

OliverBabish · 29/05/2022 10:18

I always recommend Dr David Cheung

itwasntmetho · 29/05/2022 10:21

I'm in the south east, I don't mind traveling and staying over somewhere though.

MayBeee I’ve had a consultation with Dr Nick Rhodes at copper gate clinic in York, and am booked in for September this year. He was recommended to me by three people. I’ve also had Mr Gary Ross at the BMI Alexandra Hospital in Cheadle recommended to me. ☺️

LadyDP · 29/05/2022 17:20

Can highly recommend Prof Vivien Lees at The Alexandra Hospital, Cheadle, Manchester. I had an upper blepharoplasty and was bothered people I worked with might notice the bruising. I wore contact lenses but went back to wearing glasses a few weeks before the op. People commented on me wearing glasses so when I went back to work after the op wearing glasses ( to hide the bruising) people were used to something different about me.
Do your research before you go ahead. I can spot a blepharoplasty a mile off on TV if its been done badly.

itwasntmetho · 29/05/2022 18:37

How can you spot it? What am I trying to avoid?
Is it that you know what you're looking for?
I just find the research so confusing, is there any review site where bad reviews can't be deleted?

Just looked this up , I don't think they practice there any longer.

Second vote for Nick Rhodes. I'm 4 hours away from York but stayed over. Had upper lids done with him and would highly recommend. Good luck! It was such a simple op, wish I'd had it done sooner

itwasntmetho · 29/05/2022 20:05

Did you stay over in a hotel mini? I've been thinking through the logistics of the whole thing. I definitely think it's worth traveling.

@Dontsayyouloveme

Thank you.

minidancer · 29/05/2022 20:16

It was a place called Goodram gate apartments, the clinic recommend there and it was only a five minute walk away with a car park opposite.

Craftycorvid · 29/05/2022 20:21

Another positive for Nick Rhodes. I have not had the procedure you are considering, but had a very good experience.

itwasntmetho · 29/05/2022 20:35

Thank you, I'm confused again because Nick Rhodes has so many favourable reports here, so looking into him now.

He is registered with BAAPS, but not on the specialist register as a plastic surgeon with GMC, so I thought maybe BAAPS is better so it doesn't matter, but then their own advice (BAAPS advice I mean) says to make sure the surgeon is on the specialist register. Confused
Am I making too much of this? Maybe I am, I've never had cosmetic surgery before. I did message Coppergate and ask if I could see some photos.
Thank you for all of the replies BTW. x

I know he works for the NHS and runs training academy's so I was happy with this. You have to make sure you are happy though. I know Dominic Bray who works in Tunbridge Wells is supposed to be good too although a lot more expensive.

Craftycorvid · 29/05/2022 21:27

I looked him up when I was considering my procedure and he is on the GMC specialist register, unless that’s changed recently.

Craftycorvid · 29/05/2022 21:32

Yes, just checked - on the specialist register for plastic surgery. 🙂

itwasntmetho · 29/05/2022 21:35

www.gmc-uk.org/doctors/7519584 Maybe there is more than one with that name, I hope so everything else looks great.
I think the reviews and if I saw pics might be enough anyway.
Even those apartments nearby look great!

Ah have I got the wrong one?

OP posts:
Craftycorvid · 29/05/2022 22:26

Yes, think that must be someone else.

Craftycorvid · 29/05/2022 22:33

His middle initial is D. If you search specifically on the specialist register itself, he’s there. Leeds uni’ graduate.
