The sun’s shining over Essex and I’ve been awake since stupid o’clock (after my Labrador did something unspeakable in the kitchen).

The mind has turned to the possibility that soon the summer frocks ( with trainers, sandals, DM’s) will make an appearance. And I want more frocks.

I picked these up in March. Orange one is lovely, blue is yet to be worn as for high summer.

It's surprisingly flattering when on, very comfortable and, although they could have been taking the piss or just being kind to me, I did get a lot of compliments when I wore this for the first time.

It's very long - I'm about 5'5" and it's practically on the floor in bare feet - but it is really lovely.

Now all I need is some really hot weather to wear it in!

Not sure what you budget is but I absolutely love this green dress. Would be my first choice if I had a wedding this year. Hobbs have lots of green, in different shades. Yes there's a lovely maxi (fully cotton) one with thick straps and ruched bust in Sainsburys. Proper grass green.

I wore this with denim jacket and sandals yesterday in the five minutes it wasn't raining in Scotland. Got lots of compliments.

It took about 2 weeks to arrive tho but so cheap and fit really nicely. I ordered the S8 and I am an 8 and fits perfectly. I'm 5'2" and it's just about floor length on me.

That's a beautiful dress. Just out of my budget. But something similar would be perfect, it's insouciant without being childlike on a small frame.
