DH and I have a day off today because we need to have a look at what furniture to buy for the new house. I'm wearing my new silk dress and it's so fantastic! I'm glad I bought it.
The dress would probably look better with sandals, but I'm walking a lot today so I went with white trainers!

I’m going out for afternoon tea with my work colleagues today. Hopefully a jumpsuit is suitable attire for this occasion. (This one has a very convenient concealed zip up the front).

I'm wearing my new techno trousers as I call them, from Me&Em. I got them in navy and brown. They do up at the hem to give a balloon or wider leg shape. And a Boden blouse.

Happy July! Like that dress @Shannith. I am chairing an interview panel today - going to kill my team for organising it for a Friday afternoon, lol. It’s a key hire reporting direct to me so fingers crossed we get the right person! Trousers are All Saints and jacket is Pal Offner. I was wearing Vivienne Westwood high tops, but swapped them for Doc sandals - it’s really hot here today.

Got a couple of lovely designer things (charity) this week.

The coat is going to get a lot of wear in the autumn and the dress I'll wear racing.

Coat - I saw it and thought of you @Purplecatshopaholic! - Stills Atelier, it's pure wool and beautifully made £10. I won't wear it with manky riding leggings!

Dress Milly New York - was probably about £400 new and it's as good as new. £8.

Living in the most expensive county in the UK has some benefits!

Oh no @Sooverthemill whilst my house is surface tidy it really needs decorating then I tell myself up keep it cleaner.

We've booked out first abroad holiday for 5 years to Cyprus (I've been loads my uncle was based there for a while) so I've been trying to add some more hot weather suitable bits to my wardrobe without much success.

This cowl top looks nice from the front but it's too big and gapping at the back, the trouser will crease to much and wrong kind of pink to co-ordinate with what I have already.

Started the day in a dress but then it for rainy and chips now it's sunny and warm!

@Shannith it's not just the seriously good shops. I suspect it's a seriously good eye too. I go into a charity shop and panic! I can't make sense of the places.
I have a favourite vintage shop in my town. But the two ladies who run it have a brilliant eye and understand their customers. So have some success there. But if I had to do it myself - I'd end up looking like an old lady having a game of dress up!

@faffadoodledo I've got a decent eye now but my very simple tips are - flick though and look at the labels - designer/high end tend to have fancy labels and I also look for brands I like - top end of the high street where the quality is good, so Boden/hush/cos/reiss/me&em etc.

I can tell by the fabric too, pure wool, silk etc.

And don't be limited to sizes. For tops I can find stuff in sizes 8-14!depending on the brand/fit.

To check if trousers/skirts jeans etc will fit - put the waistband round your neck. Too tight/can't reach, won't fit, too loose, it will be too big. You want it to touch nicely.

And sometimes I do look like a bag lasy playing dress up! It's a look. Certainly makes me more adventurous about clothes!

I’m a lurker on this thread but just wanted to say thanks to @EllaPaella I bought the Zara khaki joggers after seeing your photo and they are so comfy! I find it really hard to buy trousers online that suit me and I would never have found these otherwise. So thank you 😊
