You all look lovely. I haven't made it out of my hush harems and vest top all day. Feeling a bit sorry for myself.. weekend plans ruined and DH has decided he is going out tonight and tomorrow with his friends. Box set and cups of tea it is for me then.

It's raining like crazy all the week here, but today it was cloudy in the morning so I dressed up for grocery shopping in our new area.
Top - Sezane (got it on their Archives sale)
Skirt - Berthie (basically copy paste of Sezane by the looks of it, but cheaper)

@EllaPaella hope you've managed to make some weekend plans around Covid. There's a lot of it around here (Kent) at the moment too.

Shoes Sainsbury’s, very old and thoroughly disreputable but I hate buying shoes and can't find any I like.

I have no will to post at the moment. My outfits are just repeats of previous ones! But loving everyone else's. You are a stylish and lovely bunch xx

Going to be hot, and getting hotter. Today: 28C; tomorrow: 32C; Monday: 39C; Tuesday: 38C. I’m quite glad the DC are old enough to cope (they’re 16 and 18).

Does anyone else find that they struggle to wear their “holiday” wardrobe in the U.K.? I do actually have shorts, I just feel odd wearing them in an inland U.K. town!

The good thing about the weather is I have two loads of holiday washing on the line and only a white wash to go (ran out of pegs and mine space!)

Well it ain’t anything special, but it’s actual clothes, for the first time in almost a fortnight! Anthropologie harem pants, with Docs, and a Marks cami. Pale, covid skin Models Own, lol

went for a family lunch as my brother in law visited unexpectedly.

DD has a swimming gala all weekend so had the fun of sitting in a humid pool all day! To top it off DH has a gig in fact he's had one every weekend since Easter so had the take DS with me which is always fun entertaining a hyperactive 6 year old to top it off the hem has come down on my new shorts!!!

Thank you for all the well wishes. I don't actually feel too bad this time around. Very stuffy nose and feel tired but otherwise no worse than a bad cold. I have got a mouth full of ulcers though and a weird rash which is I suspect all part of my immune system taking a bashing. I won't be allowed back to work until Wednesday which in a way is a relief as I will miss the two hottest days of the year being stuck in a hot busy hospital so every cloud and all that.

@OublietteBravo yes, totally get what you mean. I haven't worn shorts in the UK for 18 years although I lived overseas for 10 prior to that and was ok with it. I feel that my knees are too wrinkled now ...

last night we went out! Dress Boden ( this linen fabric is amazing), sandals Boden , shawl knitted by me for the (cancelled) wedding of DD1. And unneeded it last night it was chilly past 7 outside ( coastal so always a breeze)

@OublietteBravo I’ve always worn shorts in the uk in towns, country and beach. I started with a pair of Levi Bermuda shorts in the shockingly hot summer of 1983 ( having worn towelling shorts my whole childhood) and took it from there. I had tailored ones I wore to work in more casual days and a pair of thick linen navy ones from GAP i wore with tights and ankle boots! So they don’t feel odd to me. But I totally get that they do to others. Just go for it. I wouldn’t wear ‘beach’ gauzy ones in town though myself.

(i have taken the view that nobody cares in relation to shorts - i try to ignore my cellulite on my legs!)
I wouldnt wear them to work though - although i would be allowed to wear smart shorts.
i usually wear a dress or long skirt in summer to work - but its one of those things where its hot outside and cold inside!
