Dungarees for me today - DS and I headed to a National Trust property today, I can't say that it was one of our most successful outings... Toddlers! 🙃 At least it was sunny, anyway. Too many awesome summer outfits to mention, but everyone looks fabulous, as ever!

@OublietteBravo Oh I see! I never bother with the dry cleaning, just use the delicate mode on the washing machine. I guess I need to up my game here!
As for layering, I’m actually always wearing some vest/ bra top underneath my clothes, even in summer heat. Learned it from the locals - if you don’t want any sweat stains on your clothes, you layer.

I’ve been wanting to buy a steamer for some time now, so I guess I will also buy the one @Purplecatshopaholic recommends. I read steamers are better for silk too, as compared to irons.

Does your part of Japan get muggy hot this time of year?

It was just about warm enough for sandals yesterday here @OublietteBravo but definitely not shorts (not for me anyway 😆) It's forecast to be much cooler today.

Yesterday I wore my new apricot dress with mint velvet leggings and boden sandals. Then went out for dinner with DH and wore skirt from Finery and top from warehouse, with Clark's shoes. I wasn't sure about the top and skirt colour combo but I think I like it!

@WestrayWife I love your top and dungarees - you have great style. Glad to hear Top Gun 2 was good, the original is such a classic that I was thinking a sequel after so long could go either way!

@Softpebbles I think the skirt looks great on you.

@intwrferingma - yes, it's really hot over here, but not too bad. It gets terrible after the rainy season ends (around July), 3 months of hell with extreme humidity levels and temperatures between 30 and 40 degrees. It's not a pleasure to be out in summer. Last year my baby couldn't stand more than 20 min walk outside at 7 a.m., so we had to stay inside all summer.

What do you ladies think of this skirt? I am looking for a skirt to wear to the office, and everybody around me seems to own at least one tight lace skirt for work, so I'm now considering whether I should also give it a try.

You all look lovely and I am very envious of those of you in summery clothes, It's 11° up here and absolutely freezing. I have just returned from a walk on the beach and had to wear my winter coat 🥶
Yesterday was much nicer- and this is what I was wearing: blouse from Mint Velvet, Jeans from M&S.

I'd always go darker for the office @toucaninjapan but that's just becasue I'd worry about dropping some of my lunch on it! I like the length. Elegant. Is it tricky buying clothes that fit? I always think japanese ladies are a tinier build than us. I feel my 5'9 build would be a problem!

DS had a sports based birthday party today 3 hours if playing games then later he had swimming, bless him by this evening he had a massive melt down and was asleep by 6.45!

@intwrferingma - with your model height you'd definitely have problems buying clothes in Japan! I'm only 5′ 5″, and I'm considered tall here. Most high-street shops offer only one "free" size for everything (meaning almost all garments will have loose fitting, elasticated waists etc.), but some shops also offer a variety of sizes (S-M, maybe even S-M-L-P if you are lucky). I'm quite flat-chested & wear a UK 6 or 8, so M size is what I go for, but some of my curvier friends have to shop at H&M, Zara etc. because Japanese brands don't offer anything that suits their body type.
I find shopping for shoes much worse, I wear a UK6/ EU39 which would roughly be the 24.5 cm size here, and I was really upset when I found some very cute trainers I was dying to buy immediately, only to be told that they don't have sizes bigger than 24 cm!😭

I had to go to the office today to do some paperwork - no meeting clients, so no jacket necessary.
I bought this broderie top/skirt set last year I think, it was on the sale with 60% off and I snatched it without thinking that black makes me look even paler than I am. I've tried to cheer it up with a pink scarf, which I love a lot, but I think it made me look like a flight attendant after I tied it (which is not a bad look of course, just that it wasn't intended).
I have tried lighting up one of the photos to make broderie seen, it just looked all black from far away on the photo.
