I love that colour blue that Bea's wearing.
I liked the sermon! poor Stephen Cottrell having to step in at the last minute!

Not that last minute - the archbishop was missing events a week ago due to COVID so not unexpected.

Serenster · 03/06/2022 13:02

I’ve been looking on twitter for a picture of Sophie Winkleman (aka Lady Frederick Windsor) and she’s definitely wearing the same dress as as Bea. It’s a Beulah dress - you might have thought the designer (who surely knows them both as she knows Kate and often dresses royals) would have said something. Or maybe they both loved it and didn’t care…

I think it’s rather fun! At least they’re very different colours...I don’t suppose the minor royals get together and make each other aware of what they’re going to wear, and they could have bought the dresses months ago and each decided quite independently to wear it today so I’m not sure the designer would have been aware of the exact event it would be worn to and the possibility that they’d wear the same thing.

Maireas · 03/06/2022 13:11

It looks slightly better in pink. I really don't like Beatrice's outfit, the colour or cut.
Gabriella Windsor looked very elegant as did Helen Taylor.

Solve me a mystery, folks. Meghan entered the cathedral with gloves but no bag, exited with a clutch bag.... where was it?

Under her flap.

Maireas · 03/06/2022 13:21

Scratch that. She didn't have a bag, that was the order of service at the end.

I think she’s holding her order of service booklet, not a clutch? It just perfectly matches the colour of her coat (which I really don’t think is lilac, Daily Mail 🙄 ).

@Serenster i saw that and was thinking wth it’s not lilac is it?? But then Kate’s dress looks a much richer yellow in the video footage than on the photos so who knows about colours on or off screen! I don’t think Meghan would choose lilac though.

Maireas · 03/06/2022 13:29

Yes - it was the Order of Service.
Matched her coat!

The biggest mystery is the colour of Meghan's ensemble! First I though dove grey then blush but now I'm veering back towards dove.

Maireas · 03/06/2022 13:37

On my tv it looked like a very pale grey. I didn't think lilac, nor blush.
Maybe it was the light.

OP posts:
Maireas · 03/06/2022 13:38

Dove is probably right.

NiqueNique · 03/06/2022 13:48

It’s Dior; hopefully someone in the know will be able to confirm exactly what colour it was.

Eaumyword · 03/06/2022 13:51

Oh I thought Meghan's outfit was a creamy pearl colour!
Good spot re Beulah London for Sophie W&Bea. I think they both wear it well, my personal preference is that glorious bright pink, but I think Bea does look good in the blue dress.

According to the press it’s lilac🤷🏼‍♀️

Lovely to see so many beast outfits, Bea and Eugenie have really found their groove with their style the last couple of years, after a few not so great public outfits!

Lady Louise’s outfit was perfect too-it must be so difficult for the younger royal females going through their teenage years to pick outfits for these formal occasions, there doesn’t seem to be a good look between young girl dresses like Charlotte wears, and full on adult styles.

JudgeRindersMinder · 03/06/2022 13:53

Beast outfits!!! Of all the shitty autocorrects! I did mean beautiful 🙄

KillingMeDeftly · 03/06/2022 13:59

I thought the beast conveniently caught covid?? Wink

SenecaFallsRedux · 03/06/2022 14:02

I've read several accounts in the US press that say Meghan's Dior dress/coat is "stone" which is also described as pale gray or pearl. I don't think it's lilac.

I really like it, but agree that the trench flap in the back needs to lie flatter. I particularly like the bracelet length sleeves, which to me are so elegant, especially when worn with gloves. A bit Jackie Kennedy circa White House years.

I like Kate's dress, too. Lovely color and fit.

NiqueNique · 03/06/2022 14:04

Stone seems a good description. But I want to know for sure, dammit! Going to have to look it up with Dior I guess.

NiqueNique · 03/06/2022 14:07

Grazia calls it white too. Interesting commentary here.

I agree, @SenecaFallsRedux it’s a fantastic look. Would have been perfect had it been perfectly fitted!

OublietteBravo · 03/06/2022 14:16

I thought the Duchess of Sussex looked lovely, and it was definitely an appropriate outfit for the occasion. But I agree that it looks slightly too tight around the shoulders. I think I’d have preferred to see her in a proper dress (something more like Princess Beatrice and Zara were wearing). Wearing a coat dress to an event that the Duchess of Cambridge is going to be at (inevitably in a coat dress) is very brave. And Meghan looks so stylish in “younger” clothes.
