St Paul's is like a Basilica in Rome, isn't it?
This is such a beautiful service, what a fitting tribute.
I'm loving the music, and those little choristers.

We’ve discussed protocol in the past, no problems with that I don’t think. But I agree with others that contentious matters/arguing/hate/personal slurs etc don’t belong here. It’s a nice thread without the batshittery that happens on many other discussions...

There was none of that whatsoever in my post.

it was simply a comment in reply to the Queen being a stickler for detail

eggandonion · 03/06/2022 11:57

I like the bright colours on the younger ladies and some fabulous hats.
As a future mother of the bride, I think Princess Anne is a better look for me than Camilla. That would compete with the bride wouldn't it? I wish I had Annes figure.
I wonder what Charles is thinking, he has been in St Paul's so many times with his parents present.

NiqueNique · 03/06/2022 11:58

I’m with them though - my fashion philosophy is wear what you love and what makes you feel good. No one is obligated always to wear what is most ‘flattering’. I don’t owe anyone always to put my ‘best foot forward’ (I say that as someone with big boobs out of keeping with the rest of my figure) and neither do they even if they are in the public eye here and there. I can’t abide the tyranny of fashion and I won’t subscribe to it.

gluenotsoup · 03/06/2022 11:55

Love this!
I agree that Camilla is looking more and more regal as we enter a sort of transition. As always, the large hat and coat shape really suit her. Both Bea and Eug look lovely, bold colour choices and sticking to their own style. Edo always gets it right, Jack looks a bit uncomfortable.
Meghan looks good, I love the earrings but not the flappy bit on the shoulder blades, I think it’s a stone colour, and I like that H has matched his tie to it.
I love the yellow dress and hat on Kate, a simple cut that she carries well, and again stunning earrings.
Sophie Winkelman and Sarah Chatto both look elegant. I quite like Zara’s dress too, no sign of Peter Phillips? I like to think that rather than go alone he stayed with HM to watch it on tv with a cup of tea 😊

Peter is there, he’s sat behind Charles and has a navy and pink tie on.

paradyning · 03/06/2022 11:58

I live Bea in blue. She looks stunning

NiqueNique · 03/06/2022 11:59

@JustLyra no not at all! Wasn’t directed at you I promise and I apologise for any offence I caused. Flowers Just a general comment.

He’s there, sitting beside Zara. Right on the aisle I think.

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 03/06/2022 12:03

Not keen on Kate's dress. Lovely colour, but the draping is weird on the chest.

HotPink22 · 03/06/2022 12:08

@Serenster, yes, I think the reason the flap was sticking out at the back was because, as you say, the top half of her outfit is too tight. You can see the pulling around the arms and the side of the dress. It needs just a bit more material to give it some give.

gluenotsoup · 03/06/2022 12:08

Oh yes! Spotted him! I’ve been watching it in between being at the beck and call of 3 dds😂

threadneedle · 03/06/2022 12:08

Charles and Diana were married at St Pauls. I imagine it's a poignant moment for Harry and William. I hope they are able to repair their relationship.

NiqueNique · 03/06/2022 12:14

Ah yes having seen photos I can see there are some issues with fit for Meghan as is so often the case. It’s a shame as she wears clothes well but seems to struggle to get many of her pieces to sit nicely. I’m perplexed as to why she doesn’t just have them altered to fit properly! But maybe she’s quite tempestuous in fashion terms and doesn’t know what she wants to wear until the day - I’m like that, it has to feel ‘right’ for my mood. And she’s also been pregnant/getting back to usual figure for most of the time we’ve actually seen her in the past few years and that brings its own challenges in that regard. Mind you I suppose no one is obligated to wear clothes that fit well. Wink

garlicandsapphires · 03/06/2022 12:14

I love that colour blue that Bea's wearing.
I liked the sermon! poor Stephen Cottrell having to step in at the last minute!

derxa · 03/06/2022 12:16

Zara looks lovely Her hair is beautiful imho

justasking111 · 03/06/2022 12:17

Great sermon. Clothes today jewel like colours haven't seen anything I didn't like

HeritageVegetable · 03/06/2022 12:18

Bless Mike Tindall apparently having flashbacks to Twickenham
while singing the anthem.

Maireas · 03/06/2022 12:20

A woman bishop Smile - good to see women and people of colour involved and included.

I love Zara's outfit too, especially the hat, it's a beautiful colour.

Eaumyword · 03/06/2022 12:23

With Meghan's outfit, I think she looks super of course, the colour is lovely and the hat looks great. Hair and makeup is so on point.
She has a lovely figure but for someone so slim, can look boxy and wider round the waist. Imho that would have been fixed by not having the thin strap waist.
I think her best formal looks have been when she doesn't wear a belt and I definitely think she nails casual chic look.

JustLyra · 03/06/2022 12:24

Sarah Chatto always manages to hit it spot on with her outfits.

dolphinsarentcommon · 03/06/2022 12:25

Such a shame there's no evening 'do's' where we could see some heavy duty bling. Seems ages since we saw some tiaras.

Eaumyword · 03/06/2022 12:26

I agree, I always like Sarah Chatto's understated look.
Did anyone else love Gabriella Windsor's outfit? I thought she looked gorgeous!

NiqueNique · 03/06/2022 12:27

God yes I’d almost forgotten that there was such a thing as a tiara!! I should have brought one (or more!) for the Jubilee celebrations...

I think I’ll wear the Greek Emerald parure today! I’ll just fetch it from the wardrobe.

Maireas · 03/06/2022 12:36

I rather like that dude's big fur hat.
