Best photo of the day? Reminds me of the bridesmaid at W&K's wedding!

That's a great picture!

We enjoyed watching Louis on the balcony! Stroke of genius to put him next to HMQ so we could see all his reactions Grin

I thought it was interesting that Kate was stood nearer to HMQ than William - surely some breach of hierarchy/Royal etiquette(!)

The Queen looked really well, which was lovely to see. I thought it was wise of Kate to wear something quite plain, after all, the day isn't about her. She looked great, though.

I've only seen Sophie's outfit from the waist up, but what I've seen of it looked really nice - I like the neckline - and the pale pink suits her.

Maireas · 02/06/2022 16:05

I'm looking forward to the Thanksgiving Service outfits. (Andrew and the Archbishop of Canterbury have both tested positive for COVID)

Zara and Mike - love this colour on her!

Lovely pic

Zara looks fabulous there, super colour and she got the style just right.
Love the Louis photo!😂
Louise and James look great.

KillingMeDeftly · 02/06/2022 16:33

That shade of red overpowers Zara a bit, and why does she stick to those high buttoned-up necks? I don't think they do her any favours.

mathanxiety · 02/06/2022 17:41

YYY to the sailor suit comments. They could take some pointers from the Swedes about dressing the children. I've seen a photo somewhere of little prince Oscar in a tiny suit with a dickie bow, which I loved.

KillingMeDeftly · 02/06/2022 17:59

Both duchesses opted for rewears today - Kate's coat dress was a McQueen she first wore last year and Meghan's was the Roland Mouret she wore the night before her wedding. The hats are new - Meghan's by Stephen Jones and Kate's by Philip Treacy - and very chic.

Tinitiny · 02/06/2022 19:20

Catching up with the pics and footage.
Lots of lovely outfits today!
I really like Sophie’s pink check (is it a coat dress too?) - Suzannah again I believe? Colour suits her.

Gooseysgirl · 02/06/2022 19:20

For anyone on Insta, Eugenie has posted some pics and video taken from the roof of the palace - the rest of the family must have all been booted up there for the fly past instead 😆 Her outfit looks fab but can only be seen from the back.

GrouchyKiwi · 02/06/2022 19:42

The hats both Catherine and Meghan wore are lovely. They look so smart and elegant.

LadyEloise1 · 02/06/2022 20:02

Zara looks lovely. That colour is great on her. I like her nude shoes with it.
I always think Mike T is punching way above ....
I wasn't keen on Louise's hat - what I saw of it didn't seem to match her dress.
Kate looks lovely. As does Meghan.
It must be difficult to get children to behave on the balcony. Meeting up with cousins - the excitement and high jinks there must be.
Well done to K&W.

eggandonion · 02/06/2022 20:32

Mike and Zara always seem to be enjoying themselves and the kids look full of mischief.
Does anyone know if Princess Anne can ride side saddle? Not because I think she should, just because the Queen did on these occasions i think?

Eaumyword · 02/06/2022 20:46

Anne will be able to ride side saddle I'm sure. She's a wonderful horsewoman.
I've ridden from the age of 2 and as a teen, had a go on my friend's side saddle, on her beautiful rock steady warmblood. After the initial omg one leg missing feeling, you're actually quite anchored by the high pommel (sticky up bit at the front of the saddle where your leg hooks over.)
I like the fact that Anne rides 'as an equal to a man' in a military sense, although side saddle is very elegant.

eggandonion · 02/06/2022 21:26

It is elegant, isnt it. Anne is certainly equal to any man on parade!
Lady Louise seems lovely.
I hope all goes well with the Sussex visit.

KillingMeDeftly · 02/06/2022 21:38

I wasn't keen on Louise's hat - what I saw of it didn't seem to match her dress.

Apparently one of Sophie's old hats @LadyEloise1 (it seems we have two LadyEloises on this thread!) but I didn't care for what Louise wore - it was a bit stuffy for an 18yo. Sophie looked good in the pink and white checks though.

eggandonion · 02/06/2022 21:59

I wonder if the striking fashion sense of the York princesses, and the comments on them, means Louise wears more demure outfits.
I dont know what she should wear on these occasions, perhaps Phase Eight needs a teen range!

KillingMeDeftly · 02/06/2022 22:18

Did HMQ ride in one of the carriages for the Trooping? I haven't seen any photos of her doing so. And I've just read she's withdrawn from tomorrow's events as she's experiencing "discomfort".

NiqueNique · 02/06/2022 22:19

No she didn’t. She was driven to the parade ground, and driven back.

NiqueNique · 02/06/2022 22:21

Ah wait, I’ve got that wrong I think! I was thinking of the balcony. I’m not sure she was driven anywhere? Been a long day and I actually can’t remember...

Serenster · 02/06/2022 22:23

The Queen wasn’t at the Horseguards Parade ground at all - she arrived from Windsor to Buckingham Palace and stayed there for the two balcony appearances, then (so we are told) a family lunch before heading back to Windsor.

I thought everyone looked perfectly appropriately turned out. All terrible tasteful, but just as you’d expect. Nice to see Kate wearing some of Diana’s sapphire jewellery!

I also noticed that Kirsty Wark, who was fronting the BBC coverage, was wearing the same dress Crown Princess Mary recently wore in Denmark.

NiqueNique · 02/06/2022 22:28

Yes that’s what I was thinking of! Driven to Buckingham palace and back, nowhere else.

A very long day for the Queen, I think. I’m not surprised that she has decided to rest tomorrow.

100problems · 01/06/2022 19:29

On the subject of Kate's green coats, I realise that I own 3 pink ones. It's like I see a pink coat and go "have it!". I imagine her doing the same online on a Friday night with a glass of wine and a clicky finger Smile

Now that I think about it I have four green coats and I have my eye on another. I also have multiples of the same dresses or tops but just in different colours so I really can't judge Kate!
