I am really happy to see that Charlotte has finally escaped the smocked dresses 😆 she looked lovely today, nice modern looking party dress. Louis in the sailor suit was too cute 🥰 I don't think I could have resisted the opportunity either if I were Kate!!! Would love to see what all the rest of the ladies were wearing... the York sisters, Sarah Chatto etc. Meghan looks great from the glimpses we've had. I think the Queen totally got it right for the balcony. It was getting ridiculous with the number of them that were crowding on there over the last few years. I'm guessing it will be like this from now on.

I think the sailor outfit is adorable. Prior to having children I thought it was a bit odd that she dressed them like that for public events but now I do the same for photos, holidays, etc. I love how classic the children look in our photos and I know that when we look back on them in 20 years the photos will still look good, whereas some of the trendier clothing for children will be easy to date. Of course, in daily life our children are toddling about in normal clothing.

Loved Kate's look today. Very elegant and classic and the hat looks beautiful on her. I also like that she is doing a rewear.

Not a fan of MM hat, the bow on the side is just too big for my taste.

But that would look dreadful. A sailor suit is a classic look for a small prince.

Agree that would look dreadful! I don’t want the Princes looking like football managers thanks very much. I really don’t get why the children’s clothes are criticised so much it seems a default position on here, they were dressed perfectly for a once in a lifetime occasion that will go down in history.

I've just watched Witness for the Prosecution (1982) on YouTube, and I now know who KM reminds me of.

NiqueNique · 03/06/2022 03:07

@mathanxiety I missed the year and was thinking Marlene Dietrich?? Confused ConfusedDiana Rigg makes a lot more sense!

mathanxiety · 03/06/2022 03:09

It's been nagging at me for years Smile

KillingMeDeftly · 03/06/2022 08:13

Now you mention it @mathanxiety I can see it! Personally I've always thought Kate and Katie Holmes looked similar.

eggandonion · 03/06/2022 09:33

The Duke of Kent is looking very old (i sound like my mother in law). Im glad the Queen still has a few people from her own generation around. I wonder how the Duchess is, they were always in the royal box in Wimbledon. When I was small we had a book with pictures of their wedding, and Princess Alexandras wedding.

susiebluebell · 03/06/2022 09:48

I'm at home this morning and watching the Jubilee service at St Paul's. And all I can think about is the Kate effect on the presenters and talking heads! Kirsty Young seems to be wearing almost exactly the whitish buttoned dress that Catherine wore at the garden party. And when I switched on, Darcy Bussell was in a really lovely blue polka dot dress. The influence is undeniable! Just thought it was interesting how over the years she's 'set the tone' for women's formalwear.

gluenotsoup · 03/06/2022 10:24

Everyone looked fabulous yesterday, simple and smart. My favourites were Kate’s sapphires with the white and navy, and of course HM looked lovely. I love that Kate, Wills and the children were combined in red, white and blue😊.

Gooseysgirl · 03/06/2022 10:43

Carrie has knocked it out of the park this morning in a red dress and matching white hat, Boris as usual hair all over the shop 🙄

Imabouttoexplode · 03/06/2022 10:45

I am beyond delighted that boris johnson just got boo'd but my goodness, how fantastic does Carrie look.

Eaumyword · 03/06/2022 10:49

Carrie looks gorgeous again today, love her outfit.

Maireas · 03/06/2022 10:57

Carrie looks fabulous. Priti Patel really looks lovely in the pink.

Zara is wearing a shocker - don't like it at all!!! Sophie Winkleman is stunning as always. Lady Sarah in her usual skirt cardi wide brim hat combo.

KillingMeDeftly · 03/06/2022 11:03

Quite a lot of Anne Boleyn headbands today! Both Gloucester daughters and I'd put money on Beatrice wearing one too.

JustLyra · 03/06/2022 11:05

Lots of pink.

Lady Louise in one of the headbands as well.

KillingMeDeftly · 03/06/2022 11:06

I take that back, Beatrice in a hat! Eugenie in orange but why the high neckline? Meghan playing it safe in a cream or dove-grey coat dress with matching hat.

susiebluebell · 03/06/2022 11:06

Duchess of Sussex looks very nervous, doesn't she? ☹️

dolphinsarentcommon · 03/06/2022 11:07

Meghan looks really good. Played it safe and pulled it off

GrouchyKiwi · 03/06/2022 11:07

She does. It was nice to hear the big cheer from the crowd for them.

JustLyra · 03/06/2022 11:08

I thought for a sec with Sophie, Louise and Meghan all in pale-ish colours the senior ladies had all gone for that (there was a lot of pink in the first contingent), but nothing pale about Beatrice or Eugenie’s dresses.

I love the orange dress.

DisforDarkChocolate · 03/06/2022 11:09

Meghan looking wonderful. It looks blush coloured to me. All the royals have done the Queen proud today.

Imabouttoexplode · 03/06/2022 11:11

Blimey, Meghan looked nervous, understandably but she looks absolutely lovely. Outfit fitted perfectly and she looked a real picture.

NiqueNique · 03/06/2022 11:11

I’m really glad that Meghan played it safe. That was the right thing to do, given the circumstances...

I thought she looked great! And I’m glad that Harry gave a little wave.

Gooseysgirl · 03/06/2022 11:13

You can always rely on the Yorks to take a risk or two fashion wise - I love them for it! Both looking fab. I think H&M will be much happier seated where they are with the Yorks and Chattos, than with William & co. Meghan looks fantastic, I love her hair and hat.
