C'mon who's still loving skinny jeans?

I look good in them, make me look so much better than wide legs and baggy jeans. It can't be just me. Surely? Grin

I find skinny jeans with a baggy shirt/ top looks great. And baggy jeans with a tight top looks great.
So I wear them both!

Thestoppedfan · 26/04/2022 23:40

I’ll never part with them. Hoody, skinny jeans and trainers are my go to.

IDidntKnowItWasAParty · 26/04/2022 23:40

Me too OP! I've lived long enough to have tried most types of jeans, and skinnies are the ones that look the best on me, so I am never changing! Anyway when I look around, everyone is wearing every type of jean they want, everything's "in style"

PickAChew · 26/04/2022 23:43

They suit me better than most other styles though I have to be careful they're not too skinny or they hurt my knees and I struggle to get them off.

Anything wide is too bloody dangerous and trippy over, ignoring the fact that it looks ridiculous on me.

PerkingFaintly · 26/04/2022 23:43

Moi. You'll part me from my skinny jeans when I die. With a potato peeler.

Lochjeda · 26/04/2022 23:43

I like them all but skinny jeans is likely most flattering on me.

FollowYourFearlessHeart · 26/04/2022 23:44

I've got too fat for mine Sad

L0stinCyberspace · 26/04/2022 23:44

River Island and Next still have loads so lots of people still do. I'm with you too.

Bearsan · 26/04/2022 23:45

Me. Have always loved skinny jeans. I wear whatever I like if it looks good. I couldn't give a shit about what someone in London trying to sell stuff tells people what they should wear.

worraliberty · 26/04/2022 23:45

I bought my first pair of skinny jeans in 1982.

They're here to stay, just like leggings or any other 'staple' clothing items.

worraliberty · 26/04/2022 23:46

I don't think they were called skinny jeans back then though - just 'tight fit'.

MissingGrandstand · 26/04/2022 23:49

I spent the best part of 15 years wishing them away since they came back "in" in the early 2000's. I finally got on board with a pair I love (Levi's 721s in case anyone is interested) around 2 years ago and now they are "out"?! How is this fair?!

Also I now feel like I'm somehow too old and too young for bootcut, like they are fine for ages 40+ or 25- but anywhere in between I'm trying too hard? And that's not all 25-40 year olds, just me/my shape/my lack of trendiness by the way!

DelphiniumBlue · 26/04/2022 23:54

DH talks about the days when he turned his flares into straight jeans, ended up with skinnies as he took them in too much! We all were wearing drainpipes aka skinnies by 1977, with a nod to punk. Nothing worse than damp, overlong flares flapping round your legs on a rainy day and soaking up puddles via the hem!

oviraptor21 · 26/04/2022 23:56

I used to hate them as they were uncomfortable and made me look chunky. I lost weight. They now make me look great but they're still pretty uncomfortable. I only wear them for special occasions!
I do like the right kind of boyfriend jeans though.

LangClegsInSpace · 27/04/2022 00:01

I went off them at least 5 years ago. How are they still a thing? They make bootlegs look like a flash in the pan and they badly outstayed their welcome.

I just want proper straight jeans. Not 'mom' jeans, not 'boyfriend' jeans - just normal, well-fitting, straight legged jeans that come all the way down to my ankles. I don't know why that's so difficult, they seem to manage it for men, regardless of the whims of fashion.

Me too

pastaparadise · 27/04/2022 00:18

Yes, they look better than most other styles on me, especially with a mum tum now. Great with a baggier top. Mom jeans look awful on almost everyone

DailySheetWasher · 27/04/2022 00:33

I thought I'd be the same but have recently gone off mine. I'm down to 1 solid black pair, and only worn with a knee length coat or cardi. Still haven't found an alternative I really like though, and have tended to avoid jeans altogether.

NaturalScone · 27/04/2022 01:27

I haven't worn jeans for about 2 years but tried my skinnies on this week and felt gooooood. I also have some girlfriend and wide jeans and look like a box. I am also very slim. I don't give a fuck what some 16 yr old is temporarily into.

JangolinaPitt · 27/04/2022 06:22

I have a friend with skinny legs who would look amazing in them but instead wears boring straight trousers that look very old lady when she could be super foxy…
