I can't decide if it's heartily for summer or tacky as it's too bright?!

Thoughts please!!!

@feraldiggy

Would be nice with a linen shirt thrown over.
Yes I thought so too, would love a vest dress like this in black, a white linen shirt over and tan sandals/slides ☺️

Is orange forever ruined by easyJet? Inspired by the pink dress I have been searching for something vaguely similar - but that would fit me.

Is the colour of this dress tacky?

This dress, and really all dresses of stretchy nature, look tacky if worn too fitting. This one particularly needs height and figure that is quite willowy and can happily go braless.
Fabulous dress, though, very StTropez😎
Speaking of all so-called wiggle, tube etc. dresses that are made from stretchy fabric, such dresses should always be sized up so they don't cling and show vpl etc. as cheapness that way lies. And tackiness of course.🤓

So after changing my mind and deciding to go for it it's now sold out in my size! Sod's law all the other sizes are still available Confused

I’m happy to be tacky, although I still manage never to show my bra straps or suffer from VPL.

josil · 14/04/2022 09:43

I'm real sad it's sold out

I'm real sad it's sold out

Despite the fact that it would be so tacky in the smaller sizes!

You could always size up, as recommended by MN, and go for the XL.

valerianaofficiana · 14/04/2022 10:14

@josil you should never buy this dress in your usual size regardless how slim you are. It should never cling or it'll look like something from Primark. It must drape somewhat loosely to look chic. Go up a size or even two.

IShouldBeSoLurky · 14/04/2022 12:15

What size were you after? It might come back in when I return mine Grin

SkoolShoes · 14/04/2022 18:32

I wouldn't worry about it too much. I bought a very similar one from COS in Navy in the autumn. It was beautiful, looked amazing, very flattering as actually it is quite heavy. BUT the heaviness was the downfall...it just stretched and stretched. By about the 3rd or 4th wear the neckline was a good inch lower. The hips/width at hips was lower. Hem lower. The style just couldn't hold up under the weight of the material. Next wash/wear even further down. I ended up returning is as not fit for purpose.

It did look great before it stretched - but £80 a lot for one or two wears.

josil · 14/04/2022 18:44

@IShouldBeSoLurky size small?!

OP posts:
josil · 14/04/2022 18:45

@Zazdar I don't have much on the hope and this one goes out at the hips so I don't think the size up would fit at all

Yes it’s a small. I’ll be returning it early next week!

josil · 15/04/2022 15:11

@IShouldBeSoLurky I will watch the website like a hawk!!

I like it OP I suit neon colours as they often have a cold base so are good on my winter colouring.

I am a curvy 16 and strangely as long as I size up so it's not like cling film dresses like that suit me.

sansucre · 15/04/2022 15:31

A moot point given the dress has sold out but I purchased this style last year albeit in a different colour. Lovely dress, great fit, but I hated the fabric and the feel of it on my skin. A shame because I would have bought the dress in this colour too but knew to pass due to the fabric.

Alonelonelylonersbadidea · 15/04/2022 16:40

It's gorgeous. I'd perhaps wear a bolero with it or some kind of shawl (passé who cares) and some crazy over the top shiny jewellery

ambereeree · 15/04/2022 19:32

I used to wear an identical dress in the 90s!

1forAll74 · 16/04/2022 04:54

Too clingy unless you are a super slim person, and its too long for that type of dress, and also looks like a cheap dress, when it's not that cheap.

Notarealmum · 16/04/2022 05:53

Oh no, shame it’s sold out - more will probably come in though, if you can wait. If you’re tall and slim (and not too buxom) I think you’ll look great in it. Vibrant colours are in and Cos fabrics are usually good quality - not tacky at all!

CorsicaDreaming · 16/04/2022 05:59

I really like the colour but just don't think the dress is at all flattering, even on the model.

CorsicaDreaming · 16/04/2022 06:07

@SoManyTshirts

I know it’s fuschia but XH and his colleagues always called it ‘menopause pink’. Very old-fashioned now, possibly due for a revival?

Your Ex sounds a real delight Hmm

LucyLocketLostThePlot · 16/04/2022 07:05

You must have an amazing figure to contemplate wearing that.

BusterGonad · 16/04/2022 15:15

It will probably look great on you Op, a few years ago I could wear anything but not now.

Nomorefuckstogive · 16/04/2022 16:29

It’s a lovely classic, minimalist Summer dress, in a beautiful colour - my favourite colour, in fact - which happens to be flattering to most skin tones. I always feel and look amazing in pink. Go for it!
