Is the colour of this dress tacky?

I can't decide if it's heartily for summer or tacky as it's too bright?!

Thoughts please!!!

I love the colour! I also like the style in a '90s supermodel on holiday' sort of way. If you have the figure, go for it. I'd style it with flat sandals, massive sunglasses and gold jewellery. But then I am quite trashy 😁

ihatesoaps · 11/04/2022 22:10

Really bland and very boring and plain!
£79 for that?

OverByYer · 11/04/2022 22:12

That model has terrible posture

I’m tallish and tanned but also an untoned size 14 so it would look awful on me. But on a willowy person it would be great. I don’t like the price though.

I had something like this in white in the late 1980s as a teen and my mates had other colours.” Tube dresses” . It’s retro.

ColdTattyWaitingForSummer · 11/04/2022 22:16

I definitely prefer the second Zara one linked by a pp. And a fraction of the price!

josil · 11/04/2022 22:23

Totally disagree with the Zara ones I can tell the material would look very cheap IRL, cos material is better

OP posts:
WilsonMilson · 11/04/2022 22:29

Looks cheap, but isn’t. Colour is ok, but unless you’re built like a supermodel it’s not going to be easy to carry off.

Lovinglife45 · 11/04/2022 23:35

This will.look fine on you as you are tall and slim.

I am a curvy size 10 and would not wear this as it would highlight even the smallest of my love handles.

Happymum12345 · 12/04/2022 00:13

I love all the clothes in cos & if you like it, then buy it.

tintodeverano2 · 12/04/2022 05:24

Pink is apparently the 'in' colour at the moment! Although I'm not too keen on the style of the dress, I do love the colour!

colosmbo · 12/04/2022 05:52

The Zara one is not comparable.

I love it OP, love the colour & knit dresses but I don't have the figure for them anymore.

KittyWindbag · 12/04/2022 06:24

Don’t listen to others saying it wouldn’t suit them. You’re tall and slender you said! I bet you’ll look phenomenal. And there’s nothing wrong with showing a bit of skin.

valerianaofficiana · 12/04/2022 06:36

Great dress for post beach cocktails given you've got the figure and height to carry it off. It's not one for large of norks, though.

balalake · 12/04/2022 06:54

It's a colour that will look awful on many women, the comment that it's not for the larger breasted rings true for me.

FolornLawn · 12/04/2022 06:59

Why don’t you get it and send it back if it doesn’t suit you? You may look great in it!

Hesma · 12/04/2022 07:20

The colour is nice, not so keen on style but it depends on your body shape. Wouldn’t suit me but may well look gorgeous on you. If you like it then go for it!

Chocolatetwirl · 12/04/2022 07:27

If you suit the colour and have the figure for it, absolutely go for it. You'll look lovely! Definitely not tacky, the material looks so much nicer than the Zara ones and disagree it's too revealing. Another vote for giving it a go.

toomanytwinkies · 12/04/2022 07:50

nothing wrong with showing a bit of skin

Confused I had to go back and check the photo. It’s a strappy midi dress, hardly showing skin. Does no one here wear a vest top in summer, or a longer skirt. It’s like a parallel universe on here sometimes. Too plain, too bright …. ugh, if it was patterned it’d be too garish, if it was beige it’d be too boring. You can’t win, OP if you like it get it Smile

toomanytwinkies · 12/04/2022 07:53

I mean as if showing your shoulders and a few inches of ankle is too revealing 🤣 is it the 1700s?

catwomando · 12/04/2022 08:05

I had one like that in the 80s. It's lovely but unforgiving so you'd need to be in pretty good shape to carry it off, and it sounds like you are Smile

The one I had was lovely but needed accessorising as it felt too, plain.

The colour is fab

pictish · 12/04/2022 08:09

Don’t like. Too plain, too pink. Very Matalan cheap looking. Dull.

Of course t’aint what you do it’s the way that you do it…so you might well rock this frock. Personally it would make me feel invisible.

josil · 12/04/2022 08:10

I changed my mind and as per some suggestions I'll buy and try it on - if I hate it I'll send it back.

I think I might be able to pull it off Grin, maybe! (It'll look awful now I bet lol)

OP posts:
GrapesThatThrive · 12/04/2022 08:28

I much prefer the Zara one Grin it just looks far more comfortable and the model actually looks nice in it unlike the Cos one.

Good idea to try it though OP, if you can pull it off it will look amazing I'm sure. Will you post a photo when it arrives?

Lulu1919 · 12/04/2022 08:31

It's an unforgiving dress .....
