Is the colour of this dress tacky?

I can't decide if it's heartily for summer or tacky as it's too bright?!

Thoughts please!!!

On the model with the short hair it looks awful. Somehow makes a slim person look massive and very uncomfortable (as with most model poses these days). On the other model sitting down with a basket it looks nice against her skin tone and styled for summer.

I like it as a concept but it's a limited body shape and skin tone that can pull it off. If you have that I'm very jealous.

ldontWanna · 11/04/2022 20:20

The colour is fine, even the shape/style if that's your thing , but the price is ridiculous. You can find similar for a lot cheaper. Plus something that plasticky (no issues with that,I have plenty of plastic stuff) and clingy will show every sweat stain.

WittyUser · 11/04/2022 20:27

I love it - looks very chic! Unfortunately I'm not tall so it wouldn't suit me, but given you are I would go for it

Legslegs · 11/04/2022 20:27

I thought it was going to be the orange colour they have at the moment. I like the pink too though. I think the colour and style work together. It's meant to look 80s surely. If only I was tall and slim!

DogsAndGin · 11/04/2022 20:38

Lovely for summer, and looks a bit less bright on the photo of the lady at home

Rights · 11/04/2022 20:40

Thanks guys I'll dodge this purchase I think!!

I reckon that’s a good decision OP! £79 for a tube of garish synthetic fabric? No thanks!

OctopusSay · 11/04/2022 20:40

It looks just like what I used buy off the market c. 1989 Grin £79? Shock

whentherainwillstop · 11/04/2022 20:41

Pair it with orange. Hot pink and orange together is amazing

MySecretHistory · 11/04/2022 20:41

I've not seen the dress but they have a knit in the same colour
If it is the same fabric it is quite odd- thick and plastic like

MySecretHistory · 11/04/2022 20:42

Its dry clean! £8 every time you wear it.

Luredbyapomegranate · 11/04/2022 20:51

No it’s fine. Quite the nod to the 80s.

If you are tall and slim it will look good. Not forgiving though so if you have any bulges crack out the Spanx.

Luredbyapomegranate · 11/04/2022 20:53

@MySecretHistory

It’ll be fine on a 30d quick wash.

They put dry clean on everything

midsomermurderess · 11/04/2022 20:54

It's fine, but Christ, that's an unforgiving cut.

MyBottleOfRibena · 11/04/2022 21:04

£80 for a long pink vest!

bouncydog · 11/04/2022 21:32

Love the colour and would be fine for a beach dress but other than that I don’t really think so.

Tasteslikeregret · 11/04/2022 21:34

@gogohm

No, looks very cheap (and it's not!)
That was my thought. Looks like something from Primark -sorry!
Abridget7 · 11/04/2022 21:35

Haha I was looking at this dress earlier. So glad I've read this as won't be purchasing either. I've definitely not got the figure for it.

IvorCutler · 11/04/2022 21:39

It’s gorgeous and I like the colour a lot. It’s not tacky at all and if you’ve the figure then it would look fab.

Forestcantrun · 11/04/2022 21:40

The colour is fabulous!

Changechangychange · 11/04/2022 21:43

Whoever said 108s was spot on - that colour tip over really easily into looking cheap and Timmy Mallett-ish I’m afraid.

Changechangychange · 11/04/2022 21:44

1980s! Fucking autocorrect

dreammattemousse · 11/04/2022 21:48

Omg if I could afford that I would get it!

Love it!

Dancer47 · 11/04/2022 22:08

It's knitted, so not cool to wear. it will cling to every part of you, and the colour is garish.
