When was the last time you felt this, what for?
I can't help but feel like fashion was better 5-10 years ago. I cant remember the last time I felt strongly about purchasing something.
(I'm talking going out tops/bags/shoes/ jeans/ dresses... everything basically). I don't even know which shops to shop in now.. help a girl out?

What are your favourite recent purchases?

@PoshPyjamas I resurrected this to say thank you and also that I both love you and hate you because I’ve just bought the Toast dungarees based on this thread. They are GORGEOUS but also the most expensive item of clothing I have EVER purchased by some way Blush

My only justification is that I’ve just started a new job after years of being a SAHM and finally have my own money again, and my new workplace is arty and relaxed enough that I can wear them there.

A long cardigan from EMP with a hood, was dissapointed in the quality in the end though :(

ZealAndArdour · 09/04/2022 20:13

@LivingDeadGirlUK

Can vouch for the quality of stuff from Killstar if you’re into alternative stuff, assume you are with the username 😉Killstar always seem to have lots of variations of long hooded cardigans and jackets.

Leather trousers from Selected Femme in the sale
I’m 58, I have never owned leather trousers but I saw them and had to have them

LivingDeadGirlUK · 10/04/2022 08:08

Thanks @ZealAndArdour I have had a few bits from there :) EMP are usually great quality and stock other brands too like Hell Bunny etc so I was really dissapointed to find this one was thin and scratchy :(

I usually buy all my clothes second hand so it was my first 'new' piece in ages.
A couple of tops from Hush as they’re exactly the sort of thing I like and the perfect colour, never been into Hush before and still find a lot of it too pastel/frilly/flowery but now I’m almost 40 it seems to be inevitable and I’m a sucker for leopard print:

I really want these trainers but have just bought a pair of Vans:

I've got three of those puff sleeve Hush tops and they're gorgeous. The material is halfway between t shirt and sweatshirt so they're great for days when it's neither boiling nor freezing - i.e. most of the time. They've got a bit of interest in the shape but aren't fussy.

Allthesefolks · 10/04/2022 17:20

@ColdSeptember I think I’ll get the black and grey ones too!

Prettybubblesintheair · 10/04/2022 17:31

@Anotherdayanothernight

This bag last week, makes me happy to look at and looking forward to summer
I love that! Where’s it from?
RubiesandRose · 10/04/2022 17:32

I saw this Never Fully Dressed tea dress last week and loved it!

I ordered it straight away because I knew it would sell out if I didn't and crossed everything that it fitted.

It actually arrived yesterday but I only tried it on this morning amd I'm so excited that it fits perfectly.

Dress to wear to DD's graduation in July is now sorted!

OMG I have to buy that!
dementedma · 10/04/2022 17:37

A pair of brogues from Embassy London. Love them so much I then bought a pair of boots.

suckingonchillidogs · 10/04/2022 18:10

@RubiesandRose - that's gorgeous, love the sleeves.

KimikosNightmare · 10/04/2022 18:12
This Tallulah and Hope dress. I intend to waft about in it for my 50th. Invested a work bonus to get it as not my usual price point! tallulahandhope.com/collections/dresses/products/zip-front-midi-dress-black-embroidered
The dress is beautiful - but that model could she be more sour faced?

MadameFantabulosa · 10/04/2022 18:14

I bought a loud coloured snd patterned swimsuit from Elomi. As I’m going to look fat in whatever I wear, I might as well look fat in something that’s a good colour rather than try snd hide in black or navy.

Loubelou14 · 18/04/2022 19:26

These trainers.. Bought them in Feb after trying to get my size for ages. Told myself it's a birthday present. My birthday is May...

OMG I have to buy that!
DaffodilsandCoffee · 18/04/2022 20:42

This trouser suit from Zara. I needed a wedding guest outfit and I just feel really good in it.

OMG I have to buy that!
a1poshpaws · 18/04/2022 22:41

This. I adore it.

It keeps perfect time with 1 AA battery, has room for everything under the sun, can be worn cross body which is my choice or as a backpack, and I have never yet gone out with it without getting loads of compliments !

OMG I have to buy that!
SocksAndTheCity · 18/04/2022 23:04

I swore I wasn't going to buy any more coats, but then I bought this coat ConfusedGrin

mumda · 18/04/2022 23:26

Every time I look at a seed catalogue.

threatmatrix · 19/04/2022 09:45

Every day (sigh) I don’t really follow fashion, if I like it I’ll buy it. I tend to go for classic designs that never go out of fashion. I know I’ll get vilified for this but any clothing mumsnet promotes I find really frumpy and inane.

Imabouttoexplode · 19/04/2022 10:50

A dress from Reiss. It's perfect for a race meeting we're going to in June.

IntergalacticChrist · 19/04/2022 11:20

I have quite a few of the items on this thread!

I live the Superdry dress linked to by @MrsZzz but the reviews are slightly mixed...
