When was the last time you felt this, what for?
I can't help but feel like fashion was better 5-10 years ago. I cant remember the last time I felt strongly about purchasing something.
(I'm talking going out tops/bags/shoes/ jeans/ dresses... everything basically). I don't even know which shops to shop in now.. help a girl out?

What are your favourite recent purchases?

This Tallulah and Hope dress. I intend to waft about in it for my 50th. Invested a work bonus to get it as not my usual price point! tallulahandhope.com/collections/dresses/products/zip-front-midi-dress-black-embroidered

liftthatup · 05/04/2022 20:54

Omg MRB2 my jaw just dropped at that dress. It is GORGEOUS and now I feel that I must have it too.
I have nowhere whatsoever to wear it 😭

@Greyhare

Last thing was bright green suede Birkenstock Kyotos I love them, they make me smile, which is a good thing although my DM and DH think they are repellent www.birkenstock.com/gb/kyoto-nubuck%2Fsuede-leather/kyoto-suede-nubucksuedeleather-0-eva-u_1983.html?dwvar_kyoto-suede-nubucksuedeleather-0-eva-u__1983_color=1983 they look brighter in real life
Argh @Greyhare, HOW COULD YOU. I clicked through and fell in love with the colour, and now I'm going to have to buy these: www.birkenstock.com/gb/arizona-suede-leather/arizona-softsuedenubuck-suedeleather-softfootbed-eva-u_1983.html?dwvar_arizona-softsuedenubuck-suedeleather-softfootbed-eva-u__1983_width=N

You owe me 90 pounds Grin

@LookdeepintotheParka
Perfume Parlour Delina is fantastic - practically identical.

GettingStuffed · 05/04/2022 21:05

I also forgot my Tommy Hilfiger lace dress , paid £24 for it bnwt original price was $149. I wore it to my birthday meal and even my son said how good I looked

Katya213 · 05/04/2022 21:06

@Ponks

Before Christmas last year, I saw a pink and red cardigan in Jigsaw and couldn't stop thinking about it. It's so not me to wear any colour, I've worn mostly black for 40 years. Eventually I bought it and I love it. Don't wear it often but every time I put it on I feel good.
Love this!
minniep · 05/04/2022 21:10

@Greyhare they are fabulous. I really could have done without seeing those now 🤣🤣🤣

JMAngel1 · 05/04/2022 21:15

Oh god so many things - too many!!
Yesterday, the most beautiful vintage style velvet bucket evening bag in a gorgeous ochre from Zara. I got it to wear with a beautiful burgundy satin slip dress for my 50th.
I also HAD to get the most perfectly fitting crop flare distressed jeans from Stradivarius - never had a pair of jeans fit so well.
Last week, it was a pair of cream suede high heel sock boots.
There is always something Grin

@MrsZzz

This: www.superdry.com/womens/dresses/details/206356/high-neck-embroidered-mini-dress--multi

No idea when/where I’ll wear it but it’s so beautiful I just had to own it.

Update : My newest 'I have to have it' purchase is this dress and a another that was in the sale Blush

Thanks @MrsZzz! Grin

ithoughtisawapuddycat · 05/04/2022 21:17

A pair of Adidas leather trainers I saw on ASOS when there was 20% off everything. I loved the look so much I also bought the light grey suede versions.

The black ones are my absolute favourite trainers and I've got about 15 pairs.

I did see a stunning YSL bag in Harrods on Saturday but couldn't bring myself to part with almost £2,000!

ImInStealthMode · 05/04/2022 21:17

Absolute strike-through fail there. In brief, I bought the embroidered dress for my honeymoon.

This! It’s like a giant cosy hug www.forgottentribes.com/collections/dresses/products/oversized-high-neck-cocoon-dress

These shoes www.dunelondon.com/hippy-t-snaffle-trim-leather-ballet-flats-camel-0098504510006510.html

Should really just wait for the sale as think a bit overpriced and don’t even need them. But they are perfect for me.

Seven minutes seven minutes any longer no two minutes and 14 seconds

MrsHugget · 05/04/2022 21:25

Sorry. Random voice to text message there - no clue how I did that.
My last one was a blouse on Vinted. Pink with animal print. I am however lusting over shoes I cannot afford

thegreylady · 05/04/2022 21:27

I am always disappointed with how I look in things. In my head I still have the size 12 figure I had 30 years ago. The reality is size 20, breasts different sizes because of cancer, white hair, specs, hearing aid and an interesting selection of false teeth! It’s all elasticated wrists and jersey tops these days.

Scamp and Dude dresses are excellent quality, and hold their resale value well. I bought one (green with black leopard print) in July last year for £99, have worn it for a wedding/the reception, my works Xmas party, an engagement party, another wedding reception and then put it on eBay a couple of weeks ago and got £69 back for it.
I’m sure some would baulk at £7.50 cost per wear, but seems pretty bargainous to me.
I am going to have to order at least one. I am so fat just now I may order in a size down to give me some motivation to lose weight! How is the sizing?

Quackpot · 05/04/2022 21:39

Never feel that way anymore, but not because there's nothing about, but because my priorities have changed. I'm more interested in spending time, and less interested in spending money.

ZealAndArdour · 05/04/2022 21:39

@Ifeellikedancing

I think sizing seems to be true to size. You only really need to fit on the arms and shoulders and but as the skirt and waist are pretty free flowing with lots of room.

I can’t support the ordering a smaller size to bully yourself though, life is for living and the dress is for wearing now! Get the size you need and wear it and enjoy it!

I want this so much that it made my chest hurt

Tutt · 05/04/2022 21:53

@LookdeepintotheParka

I only ever get this with a perfume or beauty products!! I'm currently desperate for a bottle of either Delina or Halfeti but can't afford either of them Grin

Can't remember the last time I loved an item of clothing - I'm endlessly looking for something I like, that fits and is vaguely affordable Hmm

Buy the body lotion until you can get the perfume. The smell is just as amazing and lasts all day.
TokenGinger · 05/04/2022 22:13
A couple of tops from Hush as they’re exactly the sort of thing I like and the perfect colour, never been into Hush before and still find a lot of it too pastel/frilly/flowery but now I’m almost 40 it seems to be inevitable and I’m a sucker for leopard print:

I really want these trainers but have just bought a pair of Vans:

Oh damn it. I need those tops now. They're exactly what I'd wear. What's the thickness like on them? Will they be okay for milder summer days or are they more of a sweater thickness for autumn/winter? Xx
