Yes I expect she’s able to laugh at it.

LadyEloise1 · 10/04/2022 11:06

"....I expect she's able to laugh at it"

🤔considering she rarely cracks a smile.

Nnique · 10/04/2022 11:10

She actually laughs a lot in person and apparently has a great sense of humour and takes the piss out of herself (it comes up again and again in ‘which celebrities have you met/worked with and what are they like’ discussions). She just doesn’t like how she looks when she smiles so doesn’t smile for photos/in public.

KillingMeDeftly · 10/04/2022 11:18

There was a where she completely took the piss out of her image so she's not averse to self-deprecation!

Tinitiny · 10/04/2022 12:38

@Nnique

Tenuous link - I always think Victoria Beckham must absolutely cringe herself inside out anytime she looks at her and David’s wedding photos...
I was just thinking this 😆
Nnique · 10/04/2022 12:44

The matching purple outfits!! Brooklyn too! 😆😆

Nnique · 10/04/2022 12:46

I bet they had a great time planning it and literally getting to do/have whatever they wanted on the day, though, and I’m sure it was a very happy day. But still...

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 10/04/2022 12:50

Camilla yesterday. I like her horseshoe brooch for the occasion.

The guests seem to be in evening wear. Shame about the step mum's dress, someone should have told her.
Venus and Serena Williams are a surprise, but a lot of these people are inter connected with business.

I love the colour of her coat, and that hat looks so cosy I covet it.
AdaColeman · 10/04/2022 14:35

I think the Beckham wedding was early evening there, so straight into dinner/party in evening dress. I liked Victoria's dress, though I've only seen one photo of her, looks to be a beautiful flowing design and fabric.

Nnique · 10/04/2022 14:36

Yes I like it too. Silver, apparently.

SenecaFallsRedux · 10/04/2022 14:46

Very often weddings in the US are in the early evening followed by the reception, with everyone in evening dress. In fact, the only reason I still have evening dresses is to wear to weddings. I haven't been to a daytime wedding in years.

RomainingCalm · 10/04/2022 19:14

I'd almost forgotten about the wedding thrones! 😂

paradyning · 10/04/2022 20:22

Her bodice was very fashion forward at the time and started the craze for strapless wedding dresses iirc

Nnique · 10/04/2022 20:27

Her wedding dress was nice enough. The crown...wasn’t keen (which is ironic I know).

The thrones and the purple - I believe David had a purple top hat as well, and the general styling of it...I’d be pretty embarrassed.

frugalkitty · 11/04/2022 08:46

Morning all, here's a pic of the dress

Maireas · 11/04/2022 08:57

The dress and veil are very elegant.
On the other thread there's a picture of the shoes, which I think are a bit ugly.
There's a discussion about the style of the party and guests so I'll link

Blimey I feel old, Brooklyn Beckham is getting married - www.mumsnet.com/talk/_chat/4522566-blimey-i-feel-old-brooklyn-beckham-is-getting-married
This thread is discussing the style.
Some comments are very robust!

I like the dress and the veil but they don't seem to go together. The shoes are awful.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 11/04/2022 10:00

One of the articles says that the first dance was to Fools Rush In. Bit on the nose perhaps. Grin

I agree that the shoes are awful. The flower girls looked sweet, and surprisingly non-fussy for the type of wedding.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 11/04/2022 10:07

Oh, I take that back, they've been together longer than I'd realised.

Tinitiny · 11/04/2022 10:40

I agree, the dress is nice. But what’s with the shoes? They just don’t go with the dress. 🙈
KillingMeDeftly · 11/04/2022 10:48

I have to say the new Mrs Beckham's dress is surprisingly tasteful. I don't care for the lace gloves or the clodhoppers but the dress itself is very simple and classic. She's apparently in her late 20s but has that look of a woman who started fiddling with her face at a young age and now could be anything from 25 to 45!

frugalkitty · 11/04/2022 10:52

Some of my comments were rather robust but I kept them in my head as our threads aren't mean (intentionally, at least!) Grin
