I feel slightly sorry for Sophie on the clothes front. She's up against Kate all the time, but without the Duchy of Cornwall's massive financial firepower. I do agree that she's had a few misses recently.

Plus she has a SHIT TIARA and she never seems to get lent any of the good ones. I hope Camilla and Kate will be a bit more generous when their time comes: just think of all the ones that barely ever see the light of day (well, night really).

I think Sophie's (underwhelming) wedding tiara got a bit jazzed up recently, although still no claimants on here! She sometimes wears an aquamarine tiara, but I agree it's not exactly Greville bequest territory.

That picture of Sophie above always makes me feel sorry for the female royals expected to wear evening dresses and then add a ceremonial sash and brooches.

I know it's a privilege to wear them but I'd be cross at having my largish cleavage cut in half with a sash and then having to add an adornment to my left boob. So much easier for the men to get it right!

The aquamarines really suit Sophie's colouring and blue eyes but I'm sure HMQ has some blinger grander aquamarine tiaras she could lend her!

I agree @RomainingCalm I always think those sashes ruin the line of a gown!

I quite like aquamarines but those tiaras of Sophie’s look terribly flimsy somehow. I like a more weighty looking tiara. I don't mind the sashes really.

According to another blog it was sold to Cartier and they decided to dismantle it, and presumably sold off the stones. What a crime!

I like to think someone at Cartier rescued it for perpetuity!

There’s a famous painting of Queen Marie of Romania wearing that huge sapphire kokoshnik ti similar effect - she apparently had amazing blue eyes too. Oh for a hi-res photo of her wearing it….

If the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland committee can raise funds for a new Tiara for the then Queen then I suggest the Girls of RSB (est 2019) chip in a few quid for a new blinger for Soph. Least we can do.

I think CPV has gone too far with the grey themed family look here. While each outfit on its own is fine, the overall effect is rather... bleak. And the event is celebrating her Name Day, so a happy occasion. Poor @Maireas I know you don't like grey so hope the images aren't too triggering!

Oh dear, all they need is a "Live Love Laugh" sign to complete the look.
