This is "Beauty addicts anonymous", a wonderful community of beauty product addicts & we have been going a hot minute... some may say we are enablers... many would say that they are much more intentional about their stashing and usage since joining this sisterhood.

@Experiment627 Chicago is on my list to visit.
totally off topic but there’s a fire show 911 lone star I think it’s called with Rob Lowe - pure fluffy escapism !

OchonAgusOchonOh · 15/06/2022 12:29

@PomRuns - the m and s bag your forced me to buy, I love the body butter in it.

Sorry about that Grin
I've used the upper arm cream on my lower arms. Hope they don't fall off. ·

clary · 15/06/2022 13:28

@OchonAgusOchonOh and others hmm well I have just succumbed to the M&S bag as was buying some shoes so it would be rude not to. Esp as I have amazingly avoided spending £175+ at all the other places I could have got a freebie. Tbf I like the Estee L moisturiser and the upper arm cream looks good. Lol @ your lower arms falling off!

Only empty is a Sweed mascara from an AC that I am chucking as it's ? 3 months old and starting to get a bit dry. It was pretty good tho the devil's own job to remove. Have MANY more to try tho.

Experiment627 · 15/06/2022 14:57

@PomRuns I was really impressed with it... TBH I did not really have it on my list, but my mum wanted to go and I am so glad we went there!!! Really compact city, flat and some great parks and more! I do regret not visiting Chinatown - but you always have to leave something for next time! I will defo checkout the Lone Star show.

FiveShelties · 17/06/2022 23:31

May I join (again) please? I live in NZ and just back from a visit to UK where I collected all the Advent Calendars/Boxes/Offers of 'stuff' which had piled up during the time I was unable to leave NZ. My suitcase was very heavy on my return.

I now have enough products to last until 2032 but still found myself looking at the Roccabox yesterday and wondering whether to subscribe - madness. I also managed to collect an M & S Beauty Bag last Monday before I flew out. I think I need help, so here I am posting here rather than buying more things.

Experiment627 · 18/06/2022 06:25

welcome back @FiveShelties !!!!
I am curious... did you unbox the advents before travel or did you keep them whole? 🤔photos welcome of your haul!

MissingGrandstand · 18/06/2022 07:38

Oooh please can I join! I have a WhatsApp group going with a few family members called "Grandstand has a problem" as I buy so much and end up giving it away to them Grin

I'd love to say this thread is inspiring me to cut down but I've actually just added more of your empties to my want to try list...

Experiment627 · 18/06/2022 09:33

Welcome @MissingGrandstand !!! Soz for adding to the problem 😬😬😬

SlatternIsMyMiddleName · 18/06/2022 11:36

Sorry Ladies, I dropped off this thread because although I use stuff daily I struggle to finish things. But today I have empties!

Fenty, pro filter, instant retouch primer - it was grand but there is better out there. I won’t repurchase but would be happy to be given it.

Sweed, pro lash lift mascara - this was in an advent calendar. I wouldn’t have bought it as the brush is just weird - but it was surprisingly good.

Benefit Boing industrial strength concealer. HG for me. I have a few other concealers to finish off but will definitely be getting this again.

PomRuns · 18/06/2022 14:45

@OchonAgusOchonOh do you still have 2 arms?
@Experiment627 Glad you had a great time, sounds so lovely.
@MissingGrandstand love the whatsapp name

Hello to everyone.

2 empties from me:

Sol Janeiro Har repair treatment, was good and I like the smell but I think there are more effective products.

Kate Somerville Cleanser, was good as a morning cleanser but not sure In would repurchase due to price.

84/100
10 samples

But had a huge no buy fail with a Clarins shower gel and lotion, a rituals scrub and shower gel plus a Jo Loves perfume.

OchonAgusOchonOh · 18/06/2022 17:26

@PomRuns - do you still have 2 arms?

Yes but I now have a second elbow instead of a wrist on each arm.

PomRuns · 18/06/2022 17:47

@OchonAgusOchonOh but are they smooth?

MissingGrandstand · 18/06/2022 18:15

@Experiment627 not at all, I love the recommendations! Also love your name.

@PomRuns thank you for the welcome!

Empties - currently on holiday and have used up an Elemis day cream and a Fresh black tea essence, both in travel size

Giving away - drunk elephant polypeptide cream. Gave it to my mam. Don't know why but my dry skin just didn't get on with it, it just didn't sink in at all.

Currently fallen back in love with the supergoop glow screen and looking for any tinted moisturiser recommendations!

OchonAgusOchonOh · 18/06/2022 18:49

PomRuns · 18/06/2022 17:47

@OchonAgusOchonOh but are they smooth?

Very smooth 😁

Experiment627 · 18/06/2022 21:05

@MissingGrandstand glad you like my name 😊
what was the Fresh stuff like?
I do not get on with Peptides either - or at least The Inkey List peptide cream did nothing for me.

MissingGrandstand · 18/06/2022 22:34

@Experiment627 it was lovely! Describes itself as an essence which I'd agree with - not quite a serum but more moisturising than a toner. Nice but I prefer the Sunday Riley Pink Drink or the Dr Jart essence

FiveShelties · 18/06/2022 22:59

@Experiment627 Many thanks for the welcome.

I unpacked everything otherwise I would never have got much in my suitcase. One of parcels was the No 7 Advent Calendar which was huge. I was visiting my Mum and we opened one window everyday. Three other boxes had Nuxe items in. I got those from M&S and got a free pack with those. Another parcel had a Holland & Barratt Advent Calendar and we opened that day by day as well. There was also a couple of perfume sets from M&S Florentyna and Aqua, the latest M&S Beauty Bag and a couple of other bits and pieces - oh dear. I wish I had taken photos when I got home before I scattered them in drawers, boxes etc

So with the addition of all those items, I am delighted to report I have finished two items,

  1. Florentyna Body Lotion 75ml. I definitely have no need to repurchase.
  2. No 7 Revitalising Peel Off Mask, I have more of these.
Experiment627 · 19/06/2022 05:49

There is nothing better than opening an advent @FiveShelties ... except for opening more than one!!!

I may have had a massive Superdrug splurge yesterday

Maranello · 19/06/2022 08:48

@PomRuns I also had a no-buy fail but as (most of!) mine was SPF 50 stuff - face, hands and lip - I'm going to chalk that up as healthcare Wink

Some more empties from me.

Olaplex conditioner the closest my frizzy hair gets to being not-so frizzy. HG and always have spares.

Skin regimen cleansing cream from a GWP from several years ago! Perfectly fine but a big tube (150ml) and I got sick of it well before the end so that's a sign I don't need to RP.

Perricone MD cold plasma eye cream strangely difficult to rub in, even in small dabs. Wouldn't buy again.

Zelens anti-ageing cream my second freebie sample of this. Still reminds me of school glue pots.

Jo Malone red roses soap pricy for a bar soap but I love the scent and it leaves my skin smooth. Love this

@Maranello - I think you can write all your SPf buys as health supplements and quite justifiably move on. 🥂

Maranello · 19/06/2022 12:36

@Fraaahnces it's basically medicine, right? Just with a Space NK price tag!

Caggie09 · 19/06/2022 16:05

Im so bad with reporting lately!

Laura Mercier creme brulee body cream. Smells divine! My partner liked the smell too, as he sniffed my arm😁

Votary Super Seed Serum. Already repurchased this before id even finished it. Its really soothed my skin when ive had a shit skin day. I wake up as good as new. It smells abit strange, but soon get used to it. Its actually more creamy than the usual serum texture.

Tan Luxe Suoer Glow. Another i love! Im pale, so having a little bit of colour in me does me the world of good. Always even, never patchy.

Pixi coconut cleanser. For £16, this was no better than a Simple cleanser you can get for £3. Dried my skin out at times, and seemed quite soapy. Big no from me!

Ordinary Caffeine soloution for eyes. My third bottle im onto now. Cheap, does the job and now my HG for the mornings. I wake up early for work, and it wakes my eyes uo and i look less tired and baggy🤣

Body cocoon. Never noticed if it made a difference to my sleep, but it was okay!

Today I finished a Prai 24K Gold Wrinkle Repair Creme. Not sure it has made any difference but it was really nice to use and disappeared quickly. (3)

I'm using the night cream now. I'm getting bored though as it's lasting forever!

I've been on Mumsnet for a year and I've finally found my people. Saving this for future justification!
