This is "Beauty addicts anonymous", a wonderful community of beauty product addicts & we have been going a hot minute... some may say we are enablers... many would say that they are much more intentional about their stashing and usage since joining this sisterhood.

@daisyjgrey the SPF is my holy grail! Ive gone through loads! Ill always use this one now!! Ive just actually finished one up too!

94/100

-Champneys body butter. Was from the Boots reduction shelf about 3 years ago!! I think the scent is abit too mature for me, at this time of year i want fruity/summery scents. The texture was more like a whipped cream rather than butter, but it sunk it pretty quick and could throw my clothes on without sticking.

  • Olverum firming body oil. I adore the bath oil, so had high hopes for this oil. It is only 10ml, but from the few uses i really liked it. Felt as if i was in a spa, and just a relaxing scent for a Sunday Evening. Im torn between purchasing the Diptyque body oil or this one!
  • Mitchum flower fresh. HG. Will always RP!
  • Sisley pre shampoo mask. I didnt notice anything with this product. I imagine its super expensive too, i dont think this sprt of product is worth spending ££ on!
  • Oskia renaissance mask. Will be purchasing this when ive ran down my mask stash. My skin feels amazing after this!! I leave it on for 10 mins or more and my skin just looks smooth!! I love the scent too. I use this on a Sunday to start my week off and my skin looks great on a Monday morning. I love that theres no irratation with this, but the ingrediants are defo doing there job!!
  • Garnier spf fluid. Again, HG. Ive used uo about 6 bottles now!
  • 2 mini perfume samples. Carolina Herrera good girl/ Narciso musc noir.

@PomRuns - tbh, I probably wouldn’t bother buying anything until he asks for it. If he’s anything like my son and his friends, personal hygiene won’t be a priority until much later (no matter how often you “imply” that they stink.) *About 15, btw. You’ll probably have been threatening to bleach him long before he asks for skincare. Meanwhile, by that stage he may have skin issues, and I’d hurl the Cerave SA cleanser at him and a heap of deodorant.

Fraaahnces · 05/04/2022 14:58

@Caggie09 - I love citrus fragrances, and haven’t met any dud Byredo ones yet! Just read the notes for Sundazed and it sounds like an adult citrus sorbet cocktail. Yuuuum! Bet you can’t wait!

@OchonAgusOchonOh

Boots ingredients bajuchiol. I like this and will continue using

Why’s does it do?

LivingDeadGirlUK · 06/04/2022 07:41

I've finished a REN Atlantic Kelp hand cream, from the M&S beauty calendar this year. It was nice but nothing amazing. I've gone from no hand cream pre Christmas (was using up travel size body lotions on my hands) to having 6 in the stash post Christmas so I will be moving onto another one now.

I've got the same scent shower gel to use at some point and I'm quite looking forward to that as I think it will be a nice wake up scent.

It's a natural alternative to retinol. I think it has some effect.

Fraaahnces · 06/04/2022 10:13

Part of my skincare haul arrived today. Can’t wait to break into it. Pretty sure I have product ADHD.

CaveMum · 06/04/2022 10:39

Not being an enabler at all, but don't know if you've seen the offer in this morning's MSE newsletter:

If you click on the link in the MSE blog (discount won’t work if you don’t use the link!) you can get a beauty box worth £205 for £37. Only 1800 available but I managed to order one about half an hour ago.

I suppose I should be grateful for brexit as it stops me giving in to temptation with these offers. They never shipped to Ireland but pre brexit I could use a reforwarder. Doesn't work anymore as it needs a customs invoice.

Looks really tempting though and brillant value.

PomRuns · 07/04/2022 09:32

@Fraaahnces thanks for your wise words :)

Ren Atlantic kelp body wash 50ml and hand lotion 50ml. Liked both, nice fresh fragrance, was in an AC but I'd use real cash for this - always my benchmark !

Elemis Pro collagen marine cream 15ml - I also like this, but hate the smell, so artificial so wouldn't not buy. Think this is the last one from an almost ever ending AC/beauty box stash.

52/100
5 samples.

Experiment627 · 07/04/2022 13:38

Well many apologies once again after I fell off my own thread 🙈🙈🙈🙈

I have some empties to report but they are in the kitchen and I am in the living room...

@Mackemlass79 I am so very sorry for your loss. Really wish I could give you a hug 💐

3 under 8s!!! @TeaAddict235 is tea actually enough???

@daisyjgrey cannot wait to find out if you now look like a twelve year old!

@Fraaahnces we need a photo of your haul!!!!

I did a 3 masks in a row thing the other day - my face really appreciated it!
Started with The Ordinary red thing, followed by Lush Beauty Sleep (was in the middle of the day but I was ill) and then Liz Earle hydrating mask (which is ok - trying to use up). Love the smell of the Lush one.

Ok so have got up from sofa to report empties:

  • Radox muscle soak bath soak: ok but prefer other ones
  • Ayumi tumeric & argan oil body wash: second time with this (was in an H&B advent first time). I adore the scent. A real treat as usually I use way cheaper shower gels.

The first photo is the haul that arrived - odd, since I’m still waiting on the next photo, and ordered that first.
So: lip mask. Quite nice!!! Not as fab as Laneige, but 1/3rd the price. It’s in my handbag.
Calendula Cleansing Oil smells divine, has enough “grip” to move makeup perfectly and isn’t too thick or too runny. It’s a Goldilocks product! I shall be refilling the pretty bottle with the Kumano Kosme ones, which I haven’t yet tried. The ceramide mist is great for sensitized skin. I am getting used to retinol on my neck. It’s like a snuggle. The ceramide cream has a MUUUUUCH higher concentration of any other ceramide cream, yet feels light but effective. It’s going to be my winter cream.( I am still going on two others.)I bought two of these and my son is using this on his sore, dry, Roaccutane skin. (Supposedly) The next haul (still waiting) has a Peptide Ampoule (serum) known for it’s firming and strengthening, another bottle of cleansing oil and Soy Milk Kelly cream known to be strengthening, soothing and supporting for post-menopausal skin. It is also supposed to be brightening. Bring it on!

Maranello · 08/04/2022 10:37

Reporting for duty with some more empties!

Clinique moisture surge overnight mask used this as a night cream, liked it but not as much as the regular moisture surge.

REN flash rinse 1-minute facial stingy! Would not use again.

Cowshed camomile refreshing toner one of those old-style, actives-free toners that don't really have a purpose but it was a hotel freebie so I don't feel hard done by.

Caudalie hand cream lovely smell and texture, would RP once hand cream stash is used up.

REN ready steady glow daily AHA tonic lord knows why I bought this when I have enough freebie sizes to keep me going for years but it is rather good and - unlike the Cowshed toner - does actually do something.

Fraaahnces · 09/04/2022 00:08

@Maranello overnight masks have been adopted from Japanese and Korean skincare. In those routines, the mask goes over the regular moisturiser to “lock it in” by adding an extra occlusive layer to stop it “evaporating” (drying out) from the skin.
I’m pretty sure the moisture surge range is similar, but most Western moisturizers should be occlusive enough. It would be just another money spinner.

Maranello · 09/04/2022 21:26

Oh, interesting @Fraaahnces, thank you. I didn't realise. But yes, I don't think this one would've made much difference as an extra to moisturiser, it just felt like a night cream.

Experiment627 · 10/04/2022 21:09

I am on attempt number 3 to get my hands on The Ordinary hair conditioner... really hope I get it this time!

Minnie123456 · 10/04/2022 21:24

Another emptyGrin it's taking me forever to use things up but i'm starting to enjoy using my products and excited to open the next one lol.

Ted Baker Peony Spritz Body Wash this came in a gift set, I used the body spray last year. I liked the scent of this at the start but as I used it more I didn't really like it, it was quite a "sharp" smell and I needed to use quite a lot to get a nice bubbly lather. Don't think I would RP.

I got mine last week from SpaceNK.

MidnightMeltdown · 11/04/2022 00:04

More empties:

42) Wishful Clean Genie Cleansing butter: I liked this. It has a very nice buttery texture and seems to do a good job of removing makeup. However it does become quite oily once you start rubbing it onto your face. I don't think that it's quite as good as Elemis cleansing balm.

43) Noble Isle Tea Rose Body lotion: this came in a F&M advent calendar at some point. Lovely scent but I probably wouldn't bother to RP

44) L'Oréal shampoo: bought a value pack of these a while ago - it's fine. My hair gets greasy quickly but not sure that it's specifically related to this shampoo

45) Living Proof Dry shampoo: This came in a beauty box at some point. I think that it is probably a bit better than any other dry shampoo that I've tried before - but it is extremely expensive for a dry shampoo, and I'm not sure whether it's good enough to be worth the difference in price. Dry shampoo isn't something that I would use if I was going out anywhere important, and so the cheap stuff is probably good enough!

Total for the year: 45/125

Experiment627 · 11/04/2022 05:55

@Babysharkdoodoodood I was going to try there but to get to delivery minimum was my issue as the conditioner is cheap enough but not anything else! I am trying Boots again as I needed more hair dye.

OP posts:
Fraaahnces · 11/04/2022 05:57

@Experiment627 and @Babysharkdoodoodood (and anyone else who has tried it) please let me know how you’re getting on with the ordinary shampoo and conditioner.

Experiment627 · 11/04/2022 08:49

@Fraaahnces will do! I will likely start this week as my current shampoo is nearly empty.

I have an empty:

  • La Roche-Posay Nutritic lips: my bathroom floor is very unforgiving... this fell on it when I first started using it a few months ago and part of the case broke... it was almost an empty when it fell again and now I cannot find the actual lip balm bit! It may have dropped in bin. Anyhoo this was ok... not my fave ever lip balm but way better than the Nivea and Carmex ones I recall from my past.

Fraaahnces · 11/04/2022 09:06

I have an empty too! Curel Foaming Wash. It has been a regular fixture in my routine since I accidentally bought it a few years ago. As everyone no doubt knows, I am a massive fan of double cleansing. I use this to remove my oil cleanser and I also use it to was my face in the morning. (No oil required then!) Not only is it very effective as a cleanser, but it leaves my face feeling moisturized. The foam is rich and unscented and lasts forever. Despite being used twice a day (minimum) it lasts at least four months. I haven’t achieved that from expensive cleansers! I have a backup, but have decided to try watering down the Cerave Foaming Cleanser and using it in the Curel bottle. Not holding my breath, but will be an interesting experiment.

Fraaahnces · 11/04/2022 13:24

*The diluted Cerave in the Curel bottle experiment wasn’t entirely unsuccessful, but it really doesn’t feel as nice.

LivingDeadGirlUK · 11/04/2022 20:29

Finished a 10ml Seasalt and freesia perfume that came in an M&S beauty box a few years ago, lovely fresh scent actually.
