This is "Beauty addicts anonymous", a wonderful community of beauty product addicts & we have been going a hot minute... some may say we are enablers... many would say that they are much more intentional about their stashing and usage since joining this sisterhood.

My apologies it is not a can of Evian but Avene...Grin

TheChosenTwo · 21/03/2022 19:16

I don’t know what’s happening to my posts on here! @Justilou1 I did wonder if it was because people couldn’t be trusted to use the proper amount! It’s seriously harsh stuff, I can’t imagine wanting to load up any more Shock
Another empty for me this evening, ren mask, used it up on my feet in the bath! Wasn’t keen on the fake orange smell and the consistency of it was kind of globby and gloopy, it also didn’t seem to do much for my face (or my feet to be fair but I just wanted rid of it, it’s been hanging around for a while now). Not something I’d buy again.

I'm beach & im a beauty addict. Are we supporting each other to quit or recommending products 🙈

TheChosenTwo · 21/03/2022 21:08

Oh I don’t know really @beachcitygirl Grin
I like sharing my empties as it encourages me to get them used up and out of my way! I spent years accumulating stuff and now want to put the brakes on buying more more more and focus on using what I’ve got.
I’m certainly not on a no buy or even a low buy, if there’s something I see when browsing and I fancy it I’ll get it but it’s rare that happens to me anymore as I’m just so happy to be using up things I’ve already spent my money on and freeing up some much needed space.

Experiment627 · 21/03/2022 21:18

Welcome @beachcitygirl !!! I would say a bit of both!!! At least we can make better informed purchases from the reviews we leave... anyhoo beauty products and this thread bring me JOY!!! 🤩🤩🤩

@beachcitygirl

Har har! Both, but only when you have none left in your stash. My wish list is massssive. But, it just encourages me to use and finish stuff, cos the best things about empties is you get to crack open something new!!!!!

PomRuns · 21/03/2022 22:18

Both - unopened products now down to 90 !

Florabritannica · 21/03/2022 22:54

My name is Flora and I’m a beauty addict - incapable of resisting a GWP.

PomRuns · 21/03/2022 23:01

Selfridges with love box looks fabulous. I will try to resist.

I also definitely don't need any more neom products - sadly, they have a. great box offer at the moment too.

Nouveaunew · 21/03/2022 23:25

@Florabritannica

What’s a GWP?

Experiment627 · 22/03/2022 02:53

Welcome @Florabritannica !!!

@Nouveaunew GWP = gift with purchase

Hello and welcome to the newbies! I’m the token Aussie in the group. (Also the token J&K Beauty Obsessive. What can I say? It started with sunscreen…..)
With that in mind, my gigantor bottle of cleansing oil is almost done. I was very perplexed because I’ve been using the same stuff (with occasional bouts of unfaithfulness) and I know how long it takes me to get through a bottle. (Almost a year - which is why, when heading to the bottom of the bottle after less than a quarter of that, I was curious.) Caught DD1 lithely traipsing out of my en-suite with a suspiciously-full bottle of her own cleansing oil. Given that hers is another brand that smells entirely different, (mine is unscented) it was very easy to understand that the troll had been siphoning mine to save some dough.

Justilou1 · 22/03/2022 04:44

Confession…. This might have inspired a disproportionate response today on the Stylevana website. I have ordered a different brand of cleansing oil because it was super cheap and comes in refill sachets instead of bottles. I bought three of them. One for me and one for each daughter. Then I realized that the bottle I already owned hadn’t been working optimally for a while. Suspect DD1’s ham-fisted attentions are responsible for wrecking the squirts mechanism….So I threw in another oil cleanser because it came in a pretty bottle. (All of these were about $6 AUD or £3 each.) Then, since Autumn’s just started - not that you’d know, and they take so bloody long to process their orders, and Aussie Customs are just as bad, I thought I’d better get a jump on Winter necessities. (It’s 33’c here, btw.) My DS is on Roaccutane, and I’m turning *gasp! 50 in July, so 2X Industrial-Strength Ceramide Lotions, a bucket-sized (100ml!) peptide serum, a fermented soy and retinol gel-cream (in a refill - will reuse another pot) and a ceramide-infused mist for me, along with a new lip mask to add to my harem of lovelies. Overreaction, much?

Two new empties today. I love the Bare Minerals primer. It gives a lovely smooth surface for foundation and definitely improves the lasting power of the foundation. I use it under either powder or liquid foundation.

Pai rosehip oil. Not a major fan. I found it a bit lightweight and not terribly moisturising. I'd say it's probably suited to younger skin.

Oh I loved the Pai rose hip oil but that was a few years ago (I’m 53 now, horrors)

I suspect I might have liked it a few years back too but at 57 I need industrial style grease now.
Florabritannica · 22/03/2022 11:22

Bollocks Harvey Nichols beauty gift has just landed.

Nouveaunew · 22/03/2022 17:24

Thanks @Experiment627 Oh gosh GWPs are what got me into this mess Grin

Experiment627 · 22/03/2022 17:31

What a lovely haul @Justilou1!!!

They are very dangerous @Nouveaunew 😬😳

industrial style grease
Love it!

MidnightMeltdown · 23/03/2022 21:42

A couple more empties to report:

36) Christophe Robin Hydrating Hair Mask - I loved this. It really hydrated my hair and made it all shiny and bouncy. Have RP

37) Bioeffect EGF Day Serum - not bad. A bit sticky. Not as good as the regular EGF serum which I find excellent.

Total: 37/125

I have an empty! Inkey List Fulvic Acid Brightening Cleanser. Good lightly exfoliating facial wash.

daisyjgrey · 24/03/2022 12:55

Does anyone have any good retinol advice?

I'm part way through my second bottle of Inkey list retinol and there have been improvements but I think I'd like to switch up to something stronger.

Inkey list is (apparently) 1% retinol and 0.5% granactive retinoid. What would be the next step?

My face is fairly hardy, I've been using Inkey list every night with no issues, I'm 34 and just want to address the basic ageing signs that are appearing as well as some historic sun damage.

supadupapupascupa · 24/03/2022 16:23

Got a monthly summary for you again of my empties....

Aveda strengthening leave in conditioner
My curls are loving this stuff! Now a HG

Loccitane immortelle precieuse crème
I didn't like the smell much but it worked fine and what I did notice was that it didn't leave a shiny finish, it was kind of soft and almost Matt like a primer. Would consider a RP

Venn age reversing all-in-one concentrate
This is a moisturiser and serum in one snd is very good actually. When I start swimming I will keep this one in my bag. Great for travelling too!

Ren ready steady glow daily aha tonic
I used a couple of times per week, slight sting but my skin loved it. Need to try some others in order to compare

It cosmetics confidence in your beauty sleep
This is wonderful stuff! Already RP. Smells divine, goes on top of all other skincare to save your pillow. I just loved the jelly like texture, the SMELL, the coolness in application and his silky soft it made me

Natura bisse inhibit tensolift neck cream
It's a cream, bit sticky, didn't like the smell. But it's just a cream. I'm not buying into needing a special neck one. Very expensive but I was glad when it was gone

Estée Lauder micro essence
What is it? I dunno. Water.

Estée Lauder advanced might repair eye
A good thick ointment for eyes. I like it and is a HG for me

[clears throat] May I join? I don't smoke. Rarely drink. But I have a bone deep addiction to cosmetics and beauty treatments.

We fly to the Caribbean in 2 weeks so have begun my usual intense program of holiday prep. Another Russian pedicure. Keratin blow dry. LVL lashes & Perron Rigot holiday wax are all in the diary.

And, then I have a dangerous amount of time browsing in duty free before we fly.........
