Shit. Do I look "Witchy"?

Saw an ex-colleague in town today. Not seen her for c7/8 years. Bit of chit chat, small talk. And then "So you have embraced the grey. I thought of doing it in lockdown but was scared of having that witchy vibe... You're kind of rocking it though...." A bit of a pause, a change of subject and soon after we went our separate ways.

DIdn't think much of it then. But now it is digging at me. Do I look witchy? Midlength grey curls. A bit of frizz - then my curls nearly always have a bit of frizz.

Photos attached. Would normally be wash- day today - but playing sport tomorrow morning so eeking it out an extra day - so not an "insta-best-photo-possible.

Should I listen to the "Witchy" or the "Rocking it"? I know I look my age and don't really care. But I am just wondering if I need to rethink the length/style? I am nearly 50 (like days from being 50) so wondering if am over-thinking it cos of that...just having a bit of a crisis.

Honest opinions please?

She may have been thinking witchy simply in regard to how she'd perceive herself with grey hair.

Your hair is nice. But you must know that already as I'm sure you posted pictures before and received many compliments then too.

You look amazing..and your skin looks gorgeous. You risk looking washed out a bit so you def should add colour to your face,especially your cheeks. Bit of bronzer and pink,rose,gold tones. You would seriously be striking with a bit of colour added in to enhance your natural hair tone

In which case, you’re lovely. Obviously, had you been 30 my reply would have been different!

I’m 58. Natural blonde, the silver is coming through and I absolutely love it. Wouldn’t have been happy with white but if it’s your colour, great.

Looks great. I had the "oh you're so brave going grey" patronising comment from a pita woman in work the other day. I just stared at her until it was uncomfortable and she walked away.

No you don’t look witchy. It would probably look more conventionally pleasing if it were coloured because grey doesn’t shine. The curls look amazing though and trendy. Probably looks about the best I’ve seen real grey hair look outside of an advert

I think your hair looks lovely, and you have lovely pretty features to pull of a slightly shorter hair cut. I've always said I'd like to stay grey when I go grey, and if I had hair like yours I 100% would! I think your ex colleague is just jealous
