Shit. Do I look "Witchy"?

Saw an ex-colleague in town today. Not seen her for c7/8 years. Bit of chit chat, small talk. And then "So you have embraced the grey. I thought of doing it in lockdown but was scared of having that witchy vibe... You're kind of rocking it though...." A bit of a pause, a change of subject and soon after we went our separate ways.
DIdn't think much of it then. But now it is digging at me. Do I look witchy? Midlength grey curls. A bit of frizz - then my curls nearly always have a bit of frizz.
Photos attached. Would normally be wash- day today - but playing sport tomorrow morning so eeking it out an extra day - so not an "insta-best-photo-possible.
Should I listen to the "Witchy" or the "Rocking it"? I know I look my age and don't really care. But I am just wondering if I need to rethink the length/style? I am nearly 50 (like days from being 50) so wondering if am over-thinking it cos of that...just having a bit of a crisis.
Honest opinions please?

Love it x
RobotValkyrie · 04/12/2021 19:55
Great locks! You look about as witchy as Samantha in Bewitched
(in other words: witches are hot, and your friend is an idiot)
Smartiepants79 · 04/12/2021 19:55
Nope, I completely love your hair!
Mangozesty · 04/12/2021 19:55
You look great!!
mellyt95 · 04/12/2021 19:55
No you look amazing! I'm 26 and look haggard in comparison to you 🤣 x
KatyAnna · 04/12/2021 19:56
I also think you look amazing.
I was out at lunch today and there was a party of seven women near us. Six had either coloured or highlighted hair. One had what looked to me natural grey hair and she was very striking (in a good way). It perfectly suited her colouring. She was wearing quite a strong lipstick as one of the posters upthread suggests.
Believe me, I don’t usually go around looking at other people that closely, but I have had the dilemma in my own head of whether I need to colour or highlight and that decided me to stay with my natural colour.
Chr1stmasCarole · 04/12/2021 19:56
Stunning, totally rocking it!
BackBackBack · 04/12/2021 19:56
Fuck's sake - you look bloody brilliant! Your hair is gorgeous and you have fab bone structure.
Ignore the jealous idiot. One of those women who never got the memo that you don't brighten your light by diminishing others.
AthenaPopodopolous · 04/12/2021 19:56
It is a little bit witchy-poo. Maybe add a fringe but you look good anyway.
ChoporNot · 04/12/2021 19:58
@quirkychick

I want mine as long as I can get it. I am thinking very much "flaunt it". Both the curls and the grey.
Rather this than a demure short cut.
And thank you. I googled Pauline Porizkova - I am flattered.
CassandraCross · 04/12/2021 19:58
Wow! You look fabulous, don't change anything. I have serious hair envy, mine is fine, there's not a lot of it and it's straight as a board.
AthenaPopodopolous · 04/12/2021 19:59
It’s a wee bit straggly too but nice condition and curl shape. I’d change it to a side parting. Why not treat yourself to a restyle at the hair salon?
sparklyglitterball · 04/12/2021 20:00
You look beautiful and your colleague sounds jealous of you.
WizardOfAus · 04/12/2021 20:01
LOVING IT!!!!!
Superfoodie123 · 04/12/2021 20:01
You're beautiful, bizarre comment does hint at jealousy

One of those women who never got the memo that you don't brighten your light by diminishing others. I love, love this.
One of the many, many wonderful things about my 40s is largely not giving a fuck about what other people think. As long as I am kind and decent, then if anyone else is judgy/critical of me - that is there issue.
It got to me a bit. But my hair is my achilles heel. I was an "interesting" looking child. Bony, gawky, teeth too big for my face, blue NHS specs, mum made my clothes (1970s crimplene tousers suits) so all adults used to comment on were "my lovely curls". So it is the thing I used to hang my self-esteem on. And clearly still a bit senstive....
misslomi · 04/12/2021 20:02
You look beautiful and your hair colour/curls are amazing 😍
I can only hope to look as good as you when I'm nearly 50
HollyChristmas · 04/12/2021 20:02
You look great . You should have flicked that beautiful hair and told her you'd see her in another 7/8 years !
TuftyMarmoset · 04/12/2021 20:02
I would say you do look witchy but that would be a compliment - you look a bit like Michelle Pfeiffer Stardust. You are rocking the hair and could definitely pull off purple velvet. It actually didn’t occur to me until reading the replies here that witchy could be considered an insult!
BonesInTheOcean · 04/12/2021 20:03
I think its ashy, rather than grey
And I think its lovely
StickBadge · 04/12/2021 20:03
You have beautiful hair, you can dismiss her stupid comment.
ChoporNot · 04/12/2021 20:03
their issue. Not there issue.
TuftyMarmoset · 04/12/2021 20:04
Michelle Pfeiffer IN Stardust, that should say.
MrsSkylerWhite · 04/12/2021 20:05
Again, how old are you?
BingBongBoo86 · 04/12/2021 20:05
You look amazing!
