Couldn’t find a JL thread when I searched so thought I would start one myself. Going by the run-up-to-December advent threads, I think a few of us have it.

Will avoid posting spoilers this early. So, day 1: something I have heard of (unlike last year’s Fenwicks when I had to google - a lot Smile) but have never tried. It’s actually something I can use at this time of year as well, where usually it would be too heavy for me.

Morning! Just opened my Day 1 and I will try it this morning. Will find it useful at my age (early 50s) and, as you said OP, this time of year.

Lovely packaging - feels expensive.

trying29 · 01/12/2021 08:01

I;m really impressed with this as the day 1 gift! They don;t normally start with the big hitters.

festivefuschias · 01/12/2021 09:20

I’ve just opened mine and used it too - it feels lovely, I will see how my skin feels today. Lovely packaging but small amount of cream (15ml) compared to the size of the bottle!

Bavarois · 01/12/2021 09:29

I've had this before (last year's Space NK I think) and I'm really not a fan. I think it's overpriced and there's nowhere near as much in there as you'd think, it's just clever packaging. It's too greasy for my skin too, even as a night cream. On the plus side, it looks lovely on the bathroom shelf!

festivefuschias · 01/12/2021 09:44

I have dry skin and so far it’s not as hydrating as the creams I usually use. It’s highly scented too.

Bavarois · 01/12/2021 09:54

@festivefuschias I'd agree actually, although it's greasy it just sort of sits on my skin and doesn't absorb/hydrate. Sorry, feel like I've given it a slagging! Are we allowing spoilers from 7am? Just noticing none of us are naming the product but we might have some curious lurkers.

festivefuschias · 01/12/2021 09:59

I think we are allowed spoilers from 7am - anyone who doesn’t want to find out what the products are can avoid the thread until they’ve opened?

Talisin · 01/12/2021 10:08

I think we can say it’s Augustinus Bader - The Rich Cream (I don’t have it with me so I hope that’s how it’s spelt!)

The other threads seem to be doing 7am as the cut-off for spoilers so lets stick with that.

Looks good, very pleased with it

Chickydoo · 01/12/2021 12:55

I love this rich cream. Was in last years Liberty, so I know it's good for my skin.

JustLikea · 01/12/2021 13:17

Yes it was a lovely start to the JL AC so I'm happy.

One of my night creams is just about to run out so I'm looking forward to adding this as my skin is very temperamental in the winter and often feels dry.

DarlingCoffee · 01/12/2021 19:15

I’m happy with this! I think it works better as a night cream as it’s too rich for me for the day. Not sure I will be buying the full sized product but it’s nice enough.

dedee · 01/12/2021 19:21

I am really pleased with the cream, although I haven’t tried it before.

Looking forward to day 2

Talisin · 02/12/2021 05:47

Not quite sure what to make of todays offering - further investigation required. It does smell nice though.

pinkchampagne1 · 02/12/2021 06:59

Just opened day 2. I am thinking it’s a scrub of some kind. Smells nice

Stoic123 · 02/12/2021 07:46

I've just tried a bit on the back of my hand. Not as rough as some facial scrubs can be and it's left lovely smooth skin with a faint (nice) smell of roses.

Will use it properly at the weekend.

BlueBelle81 · 02/12/2021 08:00

I'm looking forward to trying this but my skin is still a bit sore from mistaking an acid exfoliator for a daily wash for a week or so.... It might go into a drawer to be used when my face has recovered!

DarlingCoffee · 02/12/2021 08:03

I used the scrub this morning, it’s a gently warming one! Really nice

dedee · 02/12/2021 08:10

I also need to investigate this item as I haven’t heard of it before

Talisin · 02/12/2021 08:45

Ooh, sounds good. I’ll try it tomorrow morning if I have time.

I used the AB rich cream last night in place of my usual Nivea blue. Felt fine and I haven’t had a reaction to it or anything but I like to be able to still feel a bit of ‘tack’ around the eye area next morn & this didn’t do that so back to Nivea I go. I will try again with AB at the weekend during the day.

OP posts:
festivefuschias · 02/12/2021 09:48

I’m looking forward to using this scrub later on today - I’d already applied the AB cream from yesterday before I opened today’s drawer.

I’m loving the design of the calendar after originally being disappointed that it’s not festive, and am already wondering how I can reuse it. I think it might be great for my DD to store her many bits and bobs in.

TooMuchEyeliner · 02/12/2021 10:00

Can I join in? I had the JL calendar last year and loved it so hoping this year’s is as good.

I quite liked the AB Rich Cream yesterday but don’t think it’s worth the price tag. Looking forward to trying the scrub later.

JustLikea · 02/12/2021 11:55

I'm going to try the scrub this evening followed by the AB.
Didn't want to try it before my morning online meeting in case I had a reaction.

Xiaoxiong · 02/12/2021 12:00

JustLikea I'm going to do the same - kids boarding tonight so I will have time for a long hot bath with the scrub on my face and I'll come out smelling of roses I hope! Then the rich cream overnight.
