Mine is my North Face, all singing, all dancing rain coat.

My Whistles leather biker jacket. Coming up to its third year though so cost per wear is pennies.

Wagsandclaws · 24/11/2021 17:09

A leather trench coat from Karen Millen. I purchased it in the summer and haven't worn it yet 🤷‍♀️

I bought a Korean designer dress - 750 - many years ago. Black, simple, beautifully cut. I've worn it so many times that it seems like such a bargain, now. At the time, I was working away long term, lonely, sad, crazed and making more money than I could spend, but even so I did a long shuddering breath when I checked the receipt once home.

I've worn it to both of my parents funerals, and, for that alone, it was worth it.

PenelopeVonDelius · 24/11/2021 17:10

Probably my Allbirds shoes. I have some mizzles and some treebreezers. I can't remember ever having spent more than £150 on a single item! I avoid cheap stuff and tend to shop at pricier non designer stores online. I don't really buy proper designer.

supersalmon1 · 24/11/2021 17:11

Technically a bag but my Gucci Disco was a 40th birthday present (over a year ago) and I've used it nearly every day since.
Whistles biker jacket is a close second!

SweetPetrichor · 24/11/2021 17:18

My work dresses which are Blackmilk knee lengths. For me, not a cheap purchase especially with import costs but I’ve worn them for 5 years now and they’re still going strong.
I’m not much of a clothes buyer though. I live in joules jeans and Asda men’s tshirts most of the time…and if I’m home, I’m wearing pjs! Clothes are a practical requirement but not a pleasure to me.

DGFB · 24/11/2021 17:22

My North Face parka, followed by a collection of Russell and Bromley footwear

AnFiadhRua · 24/11/2021 17:24

Ha ha same,my north face coat. Brooklyn parka.

Scabetty · 24/11/2021 17:26

Mine is a shearling coat.

OneRingToRuleThemAll · 24/11/2021 17:31

My Radley picture bag. It was £270. The North Face coat is a second but that was from the outlet so cheaper.

Wagsandclaws · 24/11/2021 17:32

@Scabetty I'd love a shearling coat, I'm coveting the grey shearling from the white company atm but it's £1250 and I just can't.

I do have a short coat from Karen Millen again that's got some shearling detail on it, it's soooo soft.

That said if we are talking bags my Chanel wasn't cheap!

SocksAndTheCity · 24/11/2021 17:32

My Belstaff down filled puffa coat in olive green - it cost a fortune, but I've worn it on all the really cold days for over ten years now.

Plus when I lost the belt a few years ago, they wrote off to Italy and had another one made for me Smile.

Panicmode1 · 24/11/2021 17:33

Another one with a shearling item - but mine is a jacket...

Oh, and my wedding dress I guess, but that doesn't really count, does it!

FlamingGoat · 24/11/2021 17:33

My Dubarrys . I've worn them almost every day since I got them 3 years ago.

SocksAndTheCity · 24/11/2021 17:35

I do also have a beautiful Louis Vuitton silk cocktail dress that was £600 second hand - I shudder to think what it would have cost new.

I got over my fear of wearing it, but I don't often get the chance so I might just throw caution to the wind and stick it on for Lidl 😀

cjpark · 24/11/2021 17:37

My Ralph Laurent Coat £400 and now 5year old and still smart despite being worn alot!

Mirrorxx · 24/11/2021 17:41

Bags- my Chanel classic flap that cost 6040
Otherwise some acne boots that were about 500 or a coat that was about 600

freshcarnation · 24/11/2021 17:44

A shearling coat £900 about twenty years ago

corblimeygov · 24/11/2021 17:46

A DVF dress I couldn't live without. Only worn it three times. I do feel fab in it though. (Might put it on tomorrow just because I can.)

foxgoosefinch · 24/11/2021 17:49

A chiffon and silk Alice Temperley cocktail dress I bought when I was young and thin! I could barely get one thigh into it now but I keep it because it’s just so gorgeous and reminds me of lovely times wearing it.

Floisme · 24/11/2021 18:17

A 1920s beaded flapper dress, mint condition: £200 circa 1994. I've paid more than that on a few occasions since then but at the time, that was a much bigger chunk of my income.

thenightsky · 24/11/2021 18:19

My All Saints leather jacket.

SockFluffInTheBath · 24/11/2021 18:22

North Face warm winter coat.

MrsMoastyToasty · 24/11/2021 18:23

My wedding dress. It cost £500 in 1995 from Pronuptua, it was in the sale.

ImInStealthMode · 24/11/2021 18:23

Wedding dress aside (doesn't count if my Mum buys it?) then either my flat knee length Reiker winter boots at £125 or my Dune block heel over the knee slim boots at about the same price.

Both had many many many wears and still going strong. In fact I later bought another 2 pairs of the Reiker ones for fear they discontinued them by the time they've actually walked their last.

If I listen very carefully I can hear my stubbornly working class grandmother spinning in her grave at some of the amounts quoted on this thread Grin
