Mine is my North Face, all singing, all dancing rain coat.

A Moschino dress I got for my brothers wedding. It was just under £800. Before I got it, I kind of scoffed at designer clothes, but I can honestly say I have never worn anything that felt so good.

Bunchymcbunchface · 26/11/2021 19:34

I’ve got horses. Entire competition outfits cost more than a month in the Bahamas and ‘normal’ stuff costs more than a (minging) Victoria Beckham knitted vest top.
It’s quite frankly depressing

JaceLancs · 26/11/2021 19:44

Max Mara cashmere coat - it was about £600 in a sale 15 years ago - I’m horrified they now sell for £2-3k

CreakingatTheWhinges · 26/11/2021 20:14

I've been spoiled with a few Mulberry handbags but all were gifts and also a few pairs of Sophia Webster shoes, including the iconic winged range but again they were presents.
In the last 2 years the most expensive thing I have treated myself to with a combination of birthday/Christmas money and a decent sale discount is a pure wool stunning Ted Baker coat. In the grand scheme of some of the (lovely!) items mentioned in this thread, it wasn't that much but I wouldn't normally spend that kind of money on myself. I'd coveted it for a few years before I took the plunge. They release variations on the colour and style every year but I feel really good in it and it's pretty much timeless.

Ah was calculating spend over last six months this morning as new job so needed clothes as very covid fat. £6000.
However my interview suit for this board level job cost £2000 20 years ago. Wore it to my mothers funeral and daughters christening with Freddie Fox pink hat and countless interviews.
I also love handbags. Asprey and Mulberry. I have had a Chanel 30 years.
A lot comes from Fleebay and charity shops. I give lots away or sell. I love clothes as nothing much as a child. I drive old cars! 😁

MyComputerGetsSadWithoutMe · 26/11/2021 20:48

My winter coat 😅 I don't usually spend too much on my clothes, they're mostly all secondhand.

Notmeoryou · 26/11/2021 20:59

I've an oversized wool All Saints coat that was £400+, which I've only worn a handful of times in 5 years - just too dressy, even though oversized. I fair much better on a £200+ splurge which I then chuck on day to day and get my money's worth from.

FindingMeno · 26/11/2021 21:03

My Salomon walking boots.

Pigwig10 · 26/11/2021 21:21

I have a pair of classic Christian Laboutin shoes and a pair of boots. Both gifts from my husband. They are lovely, they don’t get worn very often and so are in almost perfect condition (apart from the soles obviously). Never had anything so extravagant before and feel very elegant when wearing them 😊

JesusMaryAndJosephAndTheWeeDon · 26/11/2021 21:57

Discounting my wedding dress, probably my Paramo Alta coat, they are nearly £300 now, I got mine discounted though. On a cost per wear basis it has been a bargain though, it's about 10 years old and is worn daily through about 10 months of the year, and it keeps me dry in the vilest weather.

StillMedusa · 27/11/2021 00:18

My Ariat boots... I wear them every day to walk the dog.
Long fitted tweed coat.. can't rem the make without looking, but very expensive, and will look amazing til the day I die. Only worn for country events!
Rab Nutrino mountain jacket..now sadly defunct. Wore it to death on many a cmping trip and worth every penny!

keffie12 · 27/11/2021 01:31

My £200 dress for our eldest wedding (The whole outfit coat £600 with shoes, Top Hat Fascinator by Paul Jones, wrap and other bits and pieces) Only worn once. Need to sell it.

Then my 2 x leather Joe Browns jackets I love

SpeckledyHen · 27/11/2021 06:36

It was a Burberry trench coat until 2 weeks ago when I gave it to my sister as I never wore it.

AuntieMarys · 27/11/2021 06:38

Leather boots from Crispins...£400 7 years ago

DoveOfPiss · 27/11/2021 17:54

Mine are a pair of Fly boots that were just over £100, justified by selling a load of stuff I don't wear any more on Vinted Smile followed by my Allbirds Mizzles which I've never worn in case I ruin them 🤦‍♀️
My DB & DSIL got me an Anya Hindmarch handbag for my birthday a few years ago. I've never used it as I don't really do handbags but checked out the retail cost - £1200!! 😱😱 Keep wondering whether to sell it or not...

Cloakedmerry · 30/11/2021 08:04

My Sophia Webster shoes

MiaN · 30/11/2021 09:44

pastypirate · 30/11/2021 09:54

thisplaceisweird · 30/11/2021 10:02

Apart from my wedding dress which was £1 in a designer discount shop

God this is peak mumsnet

AnFiadhRua · 30/11/2021 10:42

Yes that made me laugh, even in a charity shop a t-shirt would be more than £1!

Ireolu · 01/12/2021 22:37

KimikosNightmare · 02/12/2021 01:43

A Vivienne Westwood dress and jacket which are 7/8 years old and were from memory £800 or £900

I still have the jacket from a Paddy Campbell suit bought to go back to work after maternity leave in 1990 and which cost around £400 then.

An Eponine dress bought this summer- £600. Several made to measure dresses from Edina Ronay at between £600 to £750 and several ready made at £400 or so. Several & Daughter dresses at around £400 or so.

2 silk frock coats bought in Amsterdam in 2015 at €1,000 each.

One pair of Manolo Blahnik shoes which I think were £600 about 4 years ago

2 Max Mara coats at £650 each.

About a dozen Hermès scarves.

A black, military overcoat by a designer I can't remember the name of now reduced from £1100 to £750 about 8 years ago.
